Australia finished the game with a 19 - 6 run to win the Bronze medal - Patty Mills was unstoppable!!

Someone should immortalize this moment in aussie sports history by creating a life size statue of Patty Mills for everyone to see and forever remember what he did in Tokyo 2021 . His contribution to this country is priceless and his dedication to the boomers epitomizes the tru blu spirit of an aussie sports hero. He is a good man and a good example to future generations.

Thybulle has made me a huge fan of his after this tournament. I'd seen him in a few Sixers games, but never competing at this level. Kid has amazing potential and he's got such a great ability on defence coming up with steals.

I remember before the Tokyo Olympics the US sports analyst Kevin Wildes was saying Ben Simmons should join the Boomers at the Olympics so that he could practice his shooting in a competitive real game situation in a supportive environment with some other NBA players. In reply, another analyst, Nick Wright, rolled his eyes and questioned how competitive the Boomers could be being led by Patti Mills. Here's your answer, Nick Wright - pretty damn competitive. These armchair "analysts" are just fan boys of certain pro-stars and have no concept of national pride and raising your level of play when playing for your country.

Seeing Exum out there playing games in a row was also wicked. Matisse is a gun. Loved the passion from the boys. Made us all proud to be Aussie, and Matisse embracing Australia like he has (due to his time living here thus the dual citizenship) is brilliant. I bet Ben Simmons wanted to be a part of this, you can understand his situation considering the shit he is copping. We Australians stand with each other Ben will be back, and he'll dominate... He'll then do the same in Green and Gold ;-)

I am a Nets fan in Japan. I've thought Patty was a great player since his days with the Spurs, so I'm very happy that he came to the Nets.
And I had won a ticket to the third place game. If it weren't for the coronavirus pandemic, I might have been able to see him play live. It's sad, but it can't be helped.

I notice that same issue with most NBA 3 point shooters in the Olympic, I think it is because the court is smaller hence the defensive player can close out a lot quicker to limit shooting window.
Special privilege Simmons to destroy what the boomers have built and achieved at the next Olympics.

In my opinion, patty mills is already a hall of fame player for this run. Think about it, history defining Olympic medal, nba championship (top 5 on that stacked spurs team btw). Not to mention that he routinely steps up in big moments such as the Olympic bronze medal game and the NBA finals in 2014. Also, he was the CLEARCUT best player in the world for the entirety of the Olympics (2nd to finals Giannis in the first week, apart from that, he was clearly the best player). He also has a legit case for being better than Simmons imo. In terms of his production on an nba level, do yourself a favor and look at the ball dominant star talent he played with (Tony, Manu, Kawhi, Timmy D, Dejounte, Demar, KD, Kyrie etc), do really expect him to put up Olympic number points with that scoring talent taking the shots and making plays? Also, the system he played under affected his production, NO ONE on that spurs team cracked 20ppg in 2014. The closest was tony Parker with 16.7ppg. Probably not 1st ballot, but still a HOF player.

He looks like the future of the Boomers. I loved the fact he was in the Andrew Gaze, the Australian GOAT’s, number 10 singlet for the Australian team.

Patty Mills is a top nba player. Popovich didnt use him correctly during his decade long tenure with the spurs. Popovich didnt kasi ize the potentials nd skills of Patty. Popovich opted to prioritize playing his young guards rather than allowin Patty to fill up d void left by Tony Parker nd Manu. Now the nets are the beneficiary of all this. They hav unleashed the true potentials of Patty. He compliments pkayin w KD nd harden. Spurs just lost a superstar top caliber player because they opted to play their young guards rather than elevate Patty to the positions of Tony Parker and Manu. Popovich messd it up big time !!!!!

I mean, that ‘young guard’ was Dejounte Murray, a generational defender, playmaker and most importantly BALL DOMINANT AS HELL. He’s effectively playing the same role as he did before in SA in BKN, just under a new iso heavy system (that iso player actually ended up being mills after KD and Kyrie went down, thus causing a jump in scoring from just 8ppg to 16ppg at one point). Instead, he played under the ball movement oriented system of Pop where his production never cracked 7ppg (on career high efficiency mind you due to better shot creation on the team and the best spacing of all time).
