Exploring Bandung 🇮🇩 (and eating strange Lumpia)

  • On my first full day in Bandung I wanted to see as much as possible so I went on a mega stroll around this beautiful city.
To start off the day I checked out the Grand Mosque of Bandung and even though prayers were about to start a friendly local showed me the inside. After that I made my way to the building Sate Gudung which is a satay looking building. In the park opposite of the building I had some fresh sugar cane juice and tried an odd looking lumpia that was quite spicy.
My walk continued to Taman Lansia, a nearby park. Here I tried a strange herbal drink with some friendly locals.

With my CZcams videos I aim to show a different perspective than what most travel vloggers would do by interacting with people and really getting the local insights of the places I visit. No matter their social background I treat everyone equal. Sometimes this results in awkard conversations but I love it!
**Support my channel and the people I meet**
All donations will go back to the communities during my travels, this can be through staying or eating at small businesses or even donating this money right back through one of my donations projects.

The Grand Mosque of Bandung is so big and majestic, it feels very different as soon as you enter!
I didn’t understand it at first, but then I found it really interesting after hearing your explanation. That building actually looks like a satay!
Sorry, I can’t understand the ingredients that the vendor added to the pot to stir-fry!
And I thought he would wrap the food with rice paper like spring rolls/popiah, but I didn’t expect that he just covered it!
I'm not sure if the local talked about ginseng or ginger. If the drink is Korean and has a herbal flavor, it might be ginseng tea!
Thank you so much for sharing such an amazing day! I wish you a happy Christmas holiday and great coming year! 👍🎅🙌❤🎁🎄🎉

Those 3 colors are Bandung flag colors, usually we have it during our anniversary bandung city.
The philosophy of the three colors is that green (sinople) symbolizes cool prosperity. The color yellow (gold) symbolizes prosperity and nobility, while the color blue (azuur) symbolizes loyalty.
Thank you for visit Bandung, i hope you can have a great time here ~

Gedung sate ada sejarahnya. Gedung tersebut dulunya pernah dijadikan markas oleh kolonial Belanda dimasa penjajahan.
    Itu memiliki nilai sejarahnya sendiri.

The stone with the name of the country to commemorate Konferensi Asia Afrika Bandung 1955 .
The first large-scale Asian-African or Afro-Asian Conference (Indonesian: Konferensi Asia-Afrika)-also known as the Bandung Conference-was a meeting of Asian and African states, most of which were newly independent, which took place on 18-24 April 1955 in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The twenty-nine countries that participated represented a total population of 1.5 billion people, 54% of the world's population.[2] The conference was organized by Indonesia, Burma (Myanmar), India, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), and Pakistan and was coordinated by Ruslan Abdulgani, secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
The conference's stated aims were to promote Afro-Asian economic and cultural cooperation and to oppose colonialism or neocolonialism by any nation. The conference was a step towards the eventual creation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). source : Wikipedia

-I don't know for now, but in the past I could go to the top of the minaret. You just go to one side of the minaret, there's usually a mosque officials and you need to pay Rp. 10,000. But they are closed during prayer time.
-The cloth covering the tree is the Bandung City flag, usually displayed around the city's anniversary. This year Bandung is 213 years old!
-You can enter the Gedung Sate area through the back entrance, under Gedung Sate is the museum and all visitors pass through there. To get into the office section, you may need special permission (it's still the governor's office) or ask the museum staff, there are certain days where the public can get into the office section and even go up to the top of Gedung Sate.
