Panoramic Train to Paris From Indonesia 🇮🇩

- As Jakarta is insanely hot I decided to cool down in Bandung. In order to get there I took the Panoramic train. I actually wanted to try the new Swoosh (ultra-fast) train but I couldn't get a hold of any tickets.
The panoramic train was actually wonderfull and upon my arrival in Bandung I took a taxi to Grand Hotel Preanger. A 1920's Dutch colonial style building that was and still is a luxury place with all amenities needed such as spacious rooms, swimming pools, bars, restaurants, gym, spa, etc.
As I was a bit too early to check in I went for a walk in Bandung's famous Braga Street and had some delicious Soto Bandung as my first local meal.

almost totaly scam tim, usualy the ladies have role like sales person, they work with the company that give some insentives if their achieve the targets
The only problem when visit bandung is the scammed.. Especially at the tourist area... So, be careful tim
As local i strongly suggest to foreign tourist to avoid and ignore it with smile, i prefer to buy some foods for children in high density population like you do man...may be between the children there is an orphan that haven't eat in that day or the day before

The Panoramic compartment you take is really special, beautiful, and looks comfortable!
There is such a beautiful scenery outside, you pretend to sleep at 10’16 ", you are too humorous!
This is the first time I watched people add chili sauce and soy sauce directly on the rice, saving frying time, you are very smart, haha!
That hotel is retro style, not too bad. The soundproof wooden curtains are special, I like it!

On the way back to Jakarta u should try bullet train it only takes around 45 minutes from Bandung to Jakarta

The weather is amazing in Bandung and it's not polluted like Jakarta at least, loved it, I stayed there two weeks once and it's much nicer than the heat from Jakarta haha, the highlight for me was Lembang and Kawah Putih which are close to Bandung, but Braga Street was super nice to visit!
I had to leave Bandung because these days its even more polluted than Jakarta. But my time living there was truly amazing.

Wow man...already goes to west java...actually i like to travell to bandung with regular class ticket...the view was awsome...i remmember when train service was in 2000 i can standing in front door...i hope you enjoy soto bandung as good as real taste...the bottle you said like glue is vinegar many indonesian people like sour taste then add a little vinegar...and i suggest if any girl with donation come to you again you can pass it...because in many city thousand types charity person come to you with any kind...thats why the security and local people always said becarefull to tourist because local people are very selective with kind of that...but i know you very generous but i just dont want tourist welcomed with that...its home work for the governour and mayor of city...any way nice and cool...enjoy bandun

The guys you meet in Braga is not the army, is 'Pamong Praja' is like 'Civil Service Security' under Bandung Province Office. Is a bit different with Police whose focus on criminal, however their job is to secure commercial area include civil place like terminal, bus etc.

Charlie Chaplin and Amelia Earhart were once in the same hotel you're staying in now! Grand Preanger is one of the historic hotels in Indonesia where many important figures have visited and stayed.
There is a small museum on the lower floor of the old building, one of the collections is a chair that Charlie Chaplin once sat on during a visit to this hotel. Next to it is a tribute to Schomaker who designed the Preanger Hotel (Fun fact: Indonesia's first president participated in designing the hotel when he was a student and Schoemaker was one of his lecturers at the university). this tribute room contains photos of the buildings Schoemaker had made in Bandung. if you want to know more about the history of this hotel or what style of building was used, you can ask the lobby staff about this museum.

In 2025 Gambir is not central station anymore... manggarai instead....it's located in south Jakarta...of you foreigner wanna easy get accomodations like hotel...just get airport train and go to BNI dukuh atas...all area around it have lot of hotel...

i think those ladies were scammers. they were offered you an unclear book for 100.000 IDR. they just said this was about donation for children who suffer from cancer but not sure who was gonna will actually receive the donation. even I as Indonesian, i will never give about 100.000 IDR for unclear donation unless i know exactly what is donation for. i mean for the real people or organization who will take that donation. Tim tense, you should be careful to the random people who asking or offering you something unclear on the street. just say no thanks and leave it as soon as possible.
