  • Lake Eildon is a VERY popular fishing spot here in Victoria and with very good reason. I have not fished at Lake Eildon for quite a long time, and after this great trip I am really looking forward to coming back.
    This entire video was only filmed in a couple of hours before I ran out of bait.

    Any reason why you used a running sinker as opposed to paternoster?

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  Před 2 lety

      Hi Derek, they both have their place. I find the hook-up rate is higher with a running sinker, yet I get more bites with a paternoster. Perhaps the suspended bait makes it easier for the fish to find?

      @@lucasmeyers6638 Hey buddy don't believe everything you hear. That is merely just a myth and a wives tail. It is a total load of crap. Fisheries recommend you cut slits in them before throwing them back dead, so that they sink and don't smell. That is their recommendation, not the law.
      I have had over 16 million views on this channel mate, I'm sure that if throwing dead carp back was illegal I would have been contacted long before now. 👍

      Hey buddy that's all good. A lot of people have thay belief, but it is a bit of a wives tail.
      They recommend cutting them up so that they sink, and can be eaten by yabbies, shrimp, crayfish etc... and not drink up the area.
      On a lake the size of Eildon, I don't think they're going to be too much of a problem. The Sea Eagles and Whistling Kites will eat them before they have a chance to drink, and when they do stink, chances are they won't be near anybody. LOL

    Luckily I don't need a fishing license. While I have light brown hair and green eyes, technically my great great grandmother on my father's side was Aboriginal. And in Australia as long as you have any Aboriginal ancestry at all, you are allowed to identify as being Aboriginal. Of course I do it, for the benefits like this.
