There's is special event where a random crate appear on your sub this also contains a crawler hatchling
or an orange boi
You sure? I swear it was a normal crawler
8 crawlers in a row
I got one a while ago, scared the hell out of me
sus crate
Me and some friends were doing a giant spineling mission and when we found it it put a spine through the wall of the sub and straight through our captain basically killing him instantly
Dang. That's brutal. Must've been terrifying.
Imagine the captains perspective. Just going around, and then suddenly seeing some giant fish with tons of spines approach the sub. The moment you give the order to man the guns, the creature shoots a spine straight through the walls of the sub, instantly ending your life and skewering you like a shish kebab.
As a captain, I can attest to this. I was trying to position the sub around for battle and in the blink of an eye I was on the bottom floor slowly dying. It was sorta fun
I once took about 95 vitality loss from a giant spineling I am convinced the only reason I didn't get instantly killed was cuz I was wearing body armor and a riot helmet as I was security.
"cmon boys, just a normal voyage. And its my last too, retirement, cant wait to meet my grandk-"
If you are sad you can’t have a pet mud raptor if you hatch an egg FEAR NOT!!! There is a mod which allows you to hatch a tamed mud raptor and keep it like a pet! It will also follow you outside the sub and you can take it as a bodyguard too!
Mod name?
@@alperenozkan4027 its now officially in the game wohoo!
This comment aged like wine
THE MUD EGG! THE MUD EGG IS REAL!!!
A few things to note, Husked Crawlers are generally more relentless so you don't get those situations where an injured Crawler runs away after getting shot. And Mudraptors are especially dangerous due to their tendency to target hatches rather than hulls, and since hatches can't really be upgraded to have more HP, I especially dislike how quickly they can breach the submarine. Other than that, great video!
I still remember the time a crawler entered the sub killing everyone and heavily wounding me as i slowly drown in the reactor room only sirens and red lights to accompany me on my last breath
That's why i love this game
A single crawler? Was your sub just completely filled with medics and engineers?
Once I was playing with a realistic TTK mod, and a giant spineling shot through the sub, directly through my skull, killing me Instantly and pinned my body to the floor.
founded out that When killing the Crawler Broodmother, there's a chance of it having a Crawler Egg as a bonus loot. Oddly enough having the same sprite as Mudraptor Egg when it's in the inventory.
Side note : I found that Thalamus can spawn in the Cold Caverns now, idk since when. But wrecks are even dangerous if not prepared correctly even in the Cold Caverns (Since Ballast flora only spawns after Cold Caverns Biome)
Just started playing a few days ago and confirm they do lol. One second I was just about getting ready to exit the sub and a second later for some reason I crash into the wreck and have a rail gun pointed straight at me lol. Any idea how to take them on so early in the game?
@@b.c.7040 Well my friend, seems like you have a thalamus on your hands.
As most standard protocol when dealing a thalamus is either ignore it and avoid it. Or if it's mandatory like a wreck salvage mission. Approach it from the side or bottom if you can and park in the safe spot, then you must get inside the Thalamus Wreck and find the Thalamus brain, however certain rooms in the wreck will be guarded by leucocytes (The area outside is also guarded and you should take them out before going in) then find the Thalamus brain. If you perhaps on your way found a Thalamus Structure like Organ, Cell spawn Organ, or Flesh gun sacks, You should destroy it as it makes things easier (Don't worry, You'll know when you see them). Then once you find the brain, destroy it and the wreck is safe to travel (Note : Once the brain is destrpyed EVERY THALAMUS STRUCTURE DIES/GETS DESTROYED including LEUCOCYTES). Well that's about it, may this information will be useful for your Wreck Scavenging missions, Happy hunt and safe travels in Europa.
P.S if you haven't encountered or been hit by a leucocyte yet, they paralyze you overtime when they explode on you. Making things 100% more dangerous as you need a preperation of Anaparalyzants
Plasma cutters are a good defense against the leukocytes.
few additions because i'm a nerd
crawler husk has 40% resistance to gunshot wounds and stun on all of its limbs
crawler mother's egg explode on impact with the submarine's hull dealing a bunch of hull damage
mudraptors tend to break doors often breaching in even faster
all crawlers, including broodmother, take (or will take, it's a feature in the unstable builds of the game, don't know if it's in stable) 50% more damage in the head, and 50% less damage in the legs and tail
also Crawler Husk will be prioritizing attacking non-Husky Crawlers over player's (or player's submarine)
Can confirm eggs are annoying killed a brood mother than later hit a stray egg. We sank like a rock smashed on the cave floor and then got ambushed by veteran mud raptors.
step no 1. Be a medic
step no 2. Get husk genes with matriarch hammerhead
step no 3. get non-tainted gene combinations for them if possible.
step no 4. Get husk infected.
step no 5. use the axe as you with 200 medical have very high swimming speed and melee attack speed and damage. Good luck. BTW you also don't need any air and can survive high pressure. With right setup you can kill a moloch solo.
There is a unknown crawler human hybrid in a colony event
Fuck no im not dealing with that bullshit
@@blacktemplar7063you don't even have to, it just escapes in the vent and gives you a alien scrap
Thank you for this tutorial! I'm looking forward to see the other creatures of barotrauma from you
Keep up the great videos man, I appreciate the content! I will be waiting for part 2
Okay this is really useful for me as well cuz I'm not really up to date with all these newer creature variants. Thanks, great vid, very informative. I specially like how you included crafting from crawler broodmother eggs as so far I've already had a few hunts for the thing but never exactly knew what those balls did, I was just mildly concerned about their presence everywhere but never thought I should consider going out and taking them aboard.
if you lvl up the assistant skill tree, one of his end skills lets you hatch the mudraptor and it will be friendly
You make great videos, you truly deserve more subs.
Nice work! Very informative. :D
I find it funny that a glorified water Turkey has killed me more than a fucking nightmarish fish that rams into your ship
the wildlife in this game is so cool
Living railguns aka giant spinelings
I just started playing and I love love love this game holy crap it’s a breath of fresh air sigh…ya
Yes, now this is art
The dislikes are from the people who didn't enjoy the video
Frrr?
No way
Me and my crew just got wiped by a mudraptor swarm recently. The Veteran Mudraptor chews two smg magazine. You really don't wanna mess with it lol
Ruined station missions can sometimes have eggs that can hatch baby crawlers.
Woah, this tutorial is VERY good! I had no idea there were specific missions for the crawler broodmother and the giant spinelling, thanks for the video!
"They drop the much needed alien blood, which is needed to craft bloodpacks".
Granted if you dont have a pulse laser, then yes you can use them to make bloodpacks. But honestly, bloodpacks are overkill and expensive. I am a medic in baro and one pack of saline is enough for pretty much 99% of the time, which is much easier to obtain (deconstructing swim bladders or sodium+chlorine).
If you have a pulse laser installed, crafting blood packs is an absolute waste. Save those blood for your pulse laser, unless you have more than three stacks of them and you're feeling speshul.
your content make my life so much easier my man, really appreciate it!
Very nice
I find it cool that creatures attack each other too
Also what's the background song playing
i got so unlucky on my first singleplayer playthrough. I had that one starter ship from the tutorial, and out of nowhere, 3 mudraptors show up on sonar on the right, and, because the right side of the ship doesn't have guns, the AI manning the guns wasn't able to shoot them down and, mudraptors do what mudraptors do to completely new and defenseless players, causing an early end to my first playthrough.
10/10 wholesome experience fun for the whole family
For the first year or so of playing the game I had idea what the discharge coil was lol and time after time the top front end of the dugong would get flooded
Good guide
As of now the assistant can make a petraptor egg!
so cool
I wish I had friends to play this with
i always wanted to play a xenomorph mod for barotrauma
Thanks!
jump in the discord server and give me a DM 😀
@@IronicandDead ill think about it. but thank you so much for your barotrauma guide it helped me get into the game without getting shredded.
@@soldier22881 and thank you for the donations, really helps me out and I appreciate all the support you have been giving
i use chaingun to dispach broodmother and pulse cannon at the front tho am about to be out of ammo and tier 2 sector gonna be a pain
Please, someone make a video of how the biologist reacts to the monsters from barо. Why didn't anyone think of it?
I once found a mysterious crate when i was playing for the first time with my friend (it was his first time too), he was AFK, and, i opened the crate AND A BABY CRAWLER JUMPE DON MY FACE
gooo video owwo
Comically large spineling
Ship called winterhalter
My mind: “Walter White”
6:20 Assistants can now turn Mudraptor eggs into Petraptor eggs.
Wait what about hammerheads? That's basically the only thing I've come across so far.
Thanks for the video homie just bought the game and this be handy for my autistic survival rate
I wish you could have a domesticated Mudraptor.
Like, imagine a in lore character with a pet mudraptor, like a captain's parrot or a dog
Buddy, I have good news for you. Ever heard of Rexy?
@@yeetbigley6287
Nope, haven't played Barotrauma in a bit.
Someone has a domesticated mudraptor?
@@masterzoroark6664 yeah, an NPC that gives you a mission to transport them and their “friend”
You probably know by now,but it is now possible to get pet mudraptors
Nice I got 1 broodmother kill
Want part 2 :)
Spinelings need water to live, once the water is removed from them, they choke and die
Very good point, this will defiantly become more important in the future updates :D
Despite everything this is oversimplified. Only swarm mission crawlers have 85 HP. Any other of this variant has 65 HP.
Monsters in this game have tendency of having multiple attacks depending on CONTEXT (if it's in water, on ground, target beign structure and so on). Various attacks also have different cooldowns which are not a self-stuns for a specific attack but the creature's A.I. during that period of time is forced not to attack at all. If you decide to control this creature you won't be restricted with those timers.
You can carry 2 stun batons in both hands with fulgurium cells for a 10 second stun and than cheese enemies smaller than hammerhead with melee weapons. This is good because nest missions never feature enemies as large as them or larger. Why does it feel like I am the only one who figured this out?
It is oversimplified as there are so many nuances to the type of attack. I wanted to keep the video at the 8min mark which is why the damage ranges was used instead of talking about each individual attack and the situational requirements for each attack.
Also slight changes to this update, swarm is still 85, but the individual crawler is now at 80 and not 65.
I think we have found a major information breaker roght here
Most folks are well aware of dual wielding stun batons. A lot of folks just carry ungodly amounts of explosives and basically nuke a nest though.
sense this is a year old i would LOVE to point out mudraptor PETS are now a thing in base game. ya just need a assisstant with the mudraptor pet tree perk
3:44 - Now I'm gonna have to check if you were careful enough to have the broodmother die an odd number amount of times so you do get to have the like
I got 99 crawler mother kills, but a like ain't 1
@@IronicandDead Do I not need 99 accounts to like 99 times properly tho? :p
I'm going to go on a limb and assume that the husk parasite can latch onto people because of how similar humans are to crawlers, making humans an easy target for the husk parasite to take hold of them
Probably more like human immune systems have no resistances to alien parasites while most of the local fauna do. The husk infection most likely specializes in crawlers which is why it's only found in them or humans.
@@mwperk02 well good point but wouldn't the biology of humans seem so alien to the husk parasite?
@@nethergollum4219 it would but that's clearly not stopping it from hijacking your nervous system and probably completely destroying the brain.
husk latches on to the calcium of animal bones
@@josephmama6212 so only two species in barotrauma have calcium bones?
Husks are the best
thankfully they changed sme things and the game devs did make a pet raptor you can get.
Killed 2 brude mothers. So there's your like.. and it's gone.. Uninstalling to not kill another
You forgot to mention "psi" crawlers (they have same effect on players like watcher but with less range ) seen like 5-6 on wrecks but usually there have been only one per wreck (ones in 30-40 wrecks ). and no i dont have any monster mods on :)
No mods.... right...
thats not in vanilla gsme currently
It's kind of funny how there aren't really any creatures that resemble fish or sharks at all. Most enemies in the game have limbs.
6:25 "doodoo"
when part 2?
Bro, what's the background song? It slaps.
which part?
@@IronicandDead yes
lol, i read back through this amazing response. I can only assume you mean this song as it's the only one that i think slaps. Digifunk - DivKid
why does the crawler broodmother have....
"assets"
for acid ball production of course
Um, actually bane extract deals a total of 200 internal damage. It's 10 damage per second and lasts 20 seconds. Veterans can survive this.
Good catch, this is correct, and the Veterans are able to survive this, best to hit them with 2 doses or 1 dose and a shotgun blast on the underside.
@@IronicandDead In comparison to other weapons that's a low DPS anyway.
@@rico-fs1cr I'm fairly sure it also debuffs their speed which is nice
I love the game but I can’t play it on my ps4 :(
not yet ;)
Strongest monster of this game is crewmates stupidity.
Alguien sabe donde encontrar gente que hable español en este juego?
Sí en discordia, el oficial.
10 limbs huh?
Why even hatch a mudraptor?
how come some random NPC can keep a mudraptor as a pet but I can't??? unfair game, refunded and not reccomended.
Uhhhh 0:29 large clawler?
Very creppy...
