Set in the town of Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1937.
Maud goes to Shortliffe’s General Store in Digby and gets her first glimpse of Everett Lewis when he comes in to place an advertisement for a housemaid.

Before the credits rolled, they should have shown some text indicating that Evan was eventually murdered in his own house by a burglar, 9 years after his wife died. Don't know why they didn't want to include that.
