I am so proud of you. I had pledged $119 but I just had to cancel it. On 01/01/23 I was injured at work and have been off on temporary disability since. To be clear my injury was before I pledged but I thought I could afford it. I was so excited to be a part of this but my heart breaks a little bit because Iâm having to give it up to take care of myself a little bit. I wish you the best of luck. May your name, story, and legacy go down in the history books for making such an amazing difference in this world. I guess Iâll have to wait until 2024 now to see the awesomeness, but thatâs alright. I have never been able to keep myself focused on learning a language. Part of it is that I get overwhelmed with all the resources and I try to find which one I want to use, but then I lose motivation. I'm hoping this app will help me learn a language (I want to learn Japanese the most, but I've also tried German and Spanish in the past). I struggle with discipline, commitment, and motivation in general. I'm hoping that the gamification of this app will make things fun enough to keep me going. I'm very glad that the Kickstarter went so well, seeing how much work you and your team put into it and the struggles you've faced.
This app won't be a miracle, you can't get everything out of 1 app. But it will be good for developing the habit of studying, if it is as fun as ikenna makes it out to be.
Donât be discouraged! One thing I find helpful is the Habit List app. Also, to track my time for various languages, apps, and activities I use Shortcuts automations and the Toggl Track as described in this video. czcams.com/video/M3yJF-OQdTI/video.html Itâs very motivating to see a pie chart with all my efforts for the day/week/month.
This is my personal experience; when I tried Japanese as my first self-studied language, I got too overwhelmed by the complexity of the language, the huge differences with my native language and the fact that I didn't even know anything about language learning itself and how to start and study.
I then first learned Spanish to B1/ B2, which was much easier since there way many things as words and grammar rules I instinctively understood because of the language I already studied before (in school).
I am now learning Japanese again, but this time I feel more confident and less overwhelmed.
Moral of the story: don't start with the hardest language if you struggle with discipline and how-to. It's okay to start easier
@@rosaliebosma Thanks for the advice. I might attempt Spanish or German again, probably German because I want to travel there someday and it's where my mom was born. I like the sound of Japanese and the look of their writing, but it's challenging. Hopefully, someday I'll learn a second language. I think it would be helpful to get an actual teacher to give me feedback and answer questions. I'm hoping this app will help as well.
I can't wait for fluyo! And as a Nigerian it makes me even happier to see what we are capable of.

I'm waiting for the day when Fluyo comes to gaming console. Me and my friend are gamer girls, trying to learn Korean, so I know it would be too fun to challenge each other using Fluyo as we both stream it for our communities would be too fun! Just having it as an app for now is fine, but I see big things happening with Fluyo, so I can't wait to see how and where it goes in the future!!!! đđ

There are still 4 days left. It's not over yet. đ Plus, I think Korean might be an future update too. I think Ikenna wants Korean too. So it is very likely even if not now, it will be later. đ
@@savannah3000 you are correct! hitting the goal just means it will be in the beta. But for the full release he wants all these languages including Korean to be supported. Right now the initial release is a testing phase.

I challenge you to make your own language and then add it to Fluyo in the future
I personally think that would be so cool, and plus it gives you alot of leway in how you create that original language
Plus it would be a fun thing to differentiate your app even more because its the only one that would teach your language
