- The plaintiff says when she moved from Detroit to Chicago, she met the defendant, and they became friends. However, the plaintiff claims she soon learned the defendant was reckless. While dancing one day, the defendant allegedly did the splits and destroyed the plaintiff’s sentimental vase. The plaintiff is suing for damaged property and emotional distress. The defendant insists the plaintiff is suing for more than she owes.

I would agree too but I'm a bit torn, because if the actual value of the vase was $30 then she should have asked for $30 or the vase.
Anyone can claim that an item is irreplaceable to them. If i broke a $20 showpiece then someone claimed it came from their grandma and so they need $500 for it, that's a bit unfair. A bit more than the exact price sounds fair to me but not double or triple or more.

I was appalled by the ending. The plaintiff put a handout in a sweet gesture of friendship and in response the defendant just said yes pit your vases up! The defendant doesn't plan on turning it down even a little while in someone's residence. Watching that video I couldn't tell anything that is her signature move.
