    Only upgrade you need is the driver. Hit that hill at speed and you go up easy with momentum. Element doesn’t have enough weight or power to crawl...

      And more aggressive tires less air that's all

      100%. He was too slow and kept aiming for that dip. Driver mod is the best mod. Stop wasting money on parts and take an offroading class. Much better use of cash

    Turn around and back up the hill with momentum. Piece of cake said the guy with two Elements ('05 manual, 2010 auto with traction control switch).

  • @luisg1653
    @luisg1653 Před 3 lety +7

    Gotta start from further back and come around that turn in 2nd gear. You'd be up the hill no problem if you came with momentum. With the Element you gotta send it, its not a crawler.

  • @JorgeGonzalez-nc7uk
    @JorgeGonzalez-nc7uk Před 3 lety +9

    momentum is the key >> you were accelerating when on the hill its too late and also putting it on L if automatic .. and it doesnt look like its a 4wd

    Your rear differential clutch was not engaging at all, probably due to overheating. There is a thermal protection valve that will totally disable the system if you overheat it. It takes quite a while to cool back down.

    • @TheInnerHalo72
      @TheInnerHalo72 Před 4 lety +3

      Read diff doesn’t have a clutch. It’s a Newtonian fluid system that use clutch fluid. When slip is detected then the fluid thickens and increases fricten to drive the wheels

    • @MrHurricaneFloyd
      @MrHurricaneFloyd Před 2 lety

      @@richeyrich2203 You are completely wrong. The old Honda Dual Pump II system used on all years of Element uses hydraulic fluid running through 2 pumps, one running off the ring gear of the rear differential and one attached to the propeller shaft which is running off the ring gear of the front differential. If the front pump goes faster than the rear the excess fluid pressure activates the clutch plates and locks in the rear wheels. It is not exactly AWD and not very elegant but it is very reliable. Honda has used similar since the early 1980s.

      Given how little torque is sent to the rear, and the rear is open-diffed with no computer brains to split the torque left-right. It's really not a 4wd system for off-road.
