The Batman Thing is - if you had only ever seen her in Bewitched, then watched her in something else, you would have expected her to magic her way out of any sticky situation the role she played would force her into!

I like the nose wiggle, it made Samantha ever more adorable. The character had away about her, sassy but not a smart ass. A good woman, secure in who she was and wanted to be.
She did get to play her evil, sexy cousin during different episodes. I guess Elizabeth told the producers that it would get old real fast always playing the sweet, old fashioned girl all the time.
An all time tv beauty indeed. Little did the viewers know how much pain Darren was in getting up and sitting down. 😢❤️📺👏🏻
Elizabeth Montgomery was a beautiful person inside and out. Watching the episodes of Bewitched; takes away some of the sad in this world today. And watching them, for the 25 minutes, it’s the 1960’s again and gives me a feeling of inner peace. Rest in Peace Lizzie; you are one of the best.

You act like she didn't have a choice...........she totally could have been independent... It was her choice to do what he wanted....In one episode, he told her from now on she could do witchcraft and have anything she desires... and she actually wanted the old Darrin back.
I love how shows like these helped in way to combat prejudice and racism by showing people who are different can get along.

Sam’s fashion was so delicate and feminine. I love that. Her later fashion was good too but I’m not a huge fan of 60’s hippies style.
As a young man, I was in love with both Samantha and Jeannie of I Dream of Jeannie. These shows debuted at nearly the same time, in 1964 and 1965 respectively. Of course, Samantha was the mature one, the one that you would like to bring home to meet your parents. Jeannie might be more fun to be with, but a lot less dependable.
Can you imagine if they combine both show. Both Samantha and Jeannie turning life upside down of Darren and Tony. Even more added with Endora and family. And of Jeannie's family. Talk about some kaos

Such a classic beauty! She had poise, class, brains, a smile that lit up the block, and legs that would blow your hat off. It's sad she had so many personal problems due to her beauty. She deserved better than she got.

Yeah, I never understood why Darrin never wanted Samantha to use her magic. It made no logical sense to me even as a little girl watching the show. All the good she could have done not only for him but for every body. Same sentiment for I dream of Genie. Never cared for either show.

Elizabeth Montgomery was stunning in the first episodes (not that she wasn't pretty all through the series) There was just something special about her looks in the beginning. I just found Bewitched in syndication a few weeks ago. The first couple seasons were in black and white. Although this may not be the actual true color of her robe (could be) I wondered what it would be and look like in color. It is marvelous!!

Part of this was of course the comedy aspect. Darren did not understand Samantha's powers so he didn't like her to use them. In the 1960s, he also would not have wanted to be less powerful than his wife - who wears the pants in the family and all. In real life this might have been far different as there were many good sides to Samantha's abilities. However, should she get angry with him she might be dangerous too, so there's that.
every single time Sam used her powers it was the catalyst for a catastrophe.

Grew up watching the reruns, everyday after school, Gilligan’s Island and Bewitched. Then the Beverly Hillbillies with my folks after the local news. They were 20 years old back then, but still great, and they still hold up.
Never saw that episode damn....... but in every single one i used to watch, the only i was staring at......was Elizabeth and her only!!! I was and still am in love with this woman.. her face, her style, her look, absolutely stunning woman.
I was sadden when she died, especially when she was only 62 at the time of her death.

Difficult to get the smell of cigarettes out, though.
Even to this day, I don't think I've ever seen a woman more beautiful, more alluring, more sexy, more magnetic, more dynamic and more desirable than Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha. She was all woman; the kind that sets your pulse racing. She was stunningly attractive...the lady of your dreams. Or mine, at least.
Plus, in the French version, she was dubbed by an actress with the loveliest, very feminine, young but mature, sexy but reserved, voice.
I guess she built my image of the perfect woman in my young mind at the time. No need to say I never found my dream... There is only one, and she didn't even own the voice!
Mary Tyler Moore in her younger days (Dick Van Dyke show), Tippi Hedren, Janet Lee, Marilyn Monroe---all were more beautiful than E.M. Watch her in the shows she did in her very early days of acting, when the makeup was far more subtle than on Bewitched; she looks almost plain, someone nobody really paid attention to. It was the heavy makeup and the scripting that made the difference.....
