This book, written with love and humor, opened my eyes. Joey was the luckiest unlucky guy in the world. So many good people in Joey's corner, at times Joey was so pissy to them but in his heart he knew who had his back, who loved him without limits.
I was with my friend at a library store in Chicago and he showed me this book and told me to get it. It had a 5 dollar sticker on it. That was the first book that I really read. It opened the door for me to non-fiction and of course I recommend it, great book!
My wife bought me the book for Xmas, and I didn't put it down until I read it. Not my thing to read rock books, but The Ramones were "IT". First song I ever learned to play was "I Don't Care" and my favorite Punk LP and in my top 3 off all time LPs is Rocket To Russia. Thank you for the telling the tale, and filling in some of the gaps in my Ramones knowledge. Cancer Sucks! Don't stop rockin' Mickey.
I am halfway though the book and enjoying the hell out of it. Hollywood could not write a story like this one. for all of the people out there that think they don't fit into society because they are a bit different than the rest. read Joey;s story. It will change the way you think and give you hope that ANYTHING is possible.
