To all you saying that Richie isn’t a real Ramone; he played on the albums and over 500 shows, wrote and composed songs, and showed more compassion towards Joey and his memory here than any of the other members at their Hall of fame speech bar Tommy. He was also along with CJ and Tommy the only members to attend Joey’s funeral.

I wasn't crazy about him being in the band but looking back he earned his Merit
good post. it is anyway silly to discuss who was a "real" Ramone. The band went through many years, with changes, it evolved, and made great songs throughout. The best we can do is to stop such discussions and play their music, possibly through an instrument! Peace to all
@Anderson Cooper Best Ramones drummer. 3 great albums. Period. That makes him a Ramone, whether you like it or not. Plus the fact that you say Ramones ended at 1982 makes everything you say useless. They did great things til the day they broke the band. Maybe you didn´t appreciate it, or you got stuck at their most famous era. Not Cool.

Even though he played 500 + shows with them and played also on 3 albums with the band and also he was the only other Ramone besides Joey and Dee to write songs for the band. If you think Richie Ramone is not a "Real" Ramone just cause he's not an original Ramone like Dee Dee, Joey, Johnny, and Tommy than Marky is not a "Real" Ramone either.
@Anderson Cooper C'mon that's not true, Richie is the one who wrote "Somebody put something in my drink" which is a great song, and he played in "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" which is a Ramones classic, I think he gave an important contribute to the band
CJ too, I think. I didn't at first bc after Dee Dee I just didn't much care to listen but after I watched.. I think CJ earned his place in the Ramones and I never thought I'd say that.

Crazy good band. Joey was so humble n beautiful. The band was crazy talented. Johnny n Dee dee were so talented. Pure rock n roll.

@MrsButterflyTattoo CJ came to Paraguay and then went to Argentina at the time. He said in a radio interview in Paraguay that he didn't need an award to get recognition, that he has all the recognition he needs from Joey and Johnny.
It's about god damn time that the Ramones get some recognition!

conheci os caras dos ramones pessoalmente, mais em saber que jhonny sempre foi um carrasco na banda, linda ramone ter escolhido ele pra se casar e deixar joey ramone doente....no final esse talvez tenha sido o antídoto da energia dos ramones , pois existia raiva dentro e fora do palco...dos shows que vi ao vivo deles pessoalmente, nunca presenciei nada parecido com a energia dos caras no palco....nem kiss,slayer,metallica rancid,motorhead...era 1,2,3,4,...a cabou...RAMONES ALIVE.
READ THE BOOK WRITTEN BY MICKEY ABOUT JOEY. I bought it recently. I didn't know their path was that difficult. You won't be disappointed 👍🏼📚🎶🎸🤠♠️🎼🇫🇷🇨🇭🌺😊
They should have given the Ramones the respect they deserved and airing more then the 3 seconds they were alotted on TV! Tommy should have been on stage for the acceptance and sorry bro, but the Ramones WERE on MTV back in the day!

Surprised to see Richie rather than Tommy or Marky as the on-stage drummer. But whatever. I listened to the Ramones a lot in the 70s, and I'm still listening to them a lot four decades later. A great rock'n'roll band.

Richie was an underrated drummer that got gipped out of royalties just because he wasn't a founding member. Saw him play twice with the Ramones.
According to a reliable source, CJ had shows in South America. That's why he wasn't there. I wish he woulda been there too.

You don't get much better than the Ramones. I am a early seventies baby and I did not consider their early stuff punk. Regardless, loved them and always will.
