    Oh no, how will we ever follow up the success of one playoff round victory in the last 30 years without him.

    Why was anyone in the Leafs organization unhappy Dubas left? Dubai left for more money and control. He was orchestrating that move which was dishonorable.

  • @jmacd4027
    @jmacd4027 Před měsícem +10

    This is GREAT news! Wes Clark drafted with 1st round picks Rasmus Sandin & Timothy Liljegren. No wonder the Leafs have had issues on defense. When the rest of the NHL was going with big mobile defensemen the Leafs were doing the opposite. It is Dubas' style to go after little offensive defensemen. Look what Dubas' first move was in Pittsburgh - UFA Erik Karlsson and it was a disaster. Good riddance. Dub as & Clark deserve each other.

    Who cares they will all eventually be fired in Pittsburgh

  • @MichaelZanette

    I've heard all about how much of a draft guru Wes Clark is, he was brought in 2018, here are notable Leafs picks since 2018
    Rasmus Sandin
    Sean Durzi
    Pontus Holmberg
    Nicholas Robertson
    Matthew Knies
    Fraser Minten
    Easton Cowan
    Not exactly a banner list is it? Also, nobody from the 2020 draft has played ANY NHL games.

    • @domenicgalata1470
      @domenicgalata1470 Před měsícem

      Knies, Minten and Cowen could be solid players as they develop, but the other picks are busts as far as I’m concerned.

    • @darianhepner199
      @darianhepner199 Před měsícem

      Durzi is a great player, Holmberg was a 5th round pick so that's a straight up slam dunk. Robertson can play just hasn't had the opportunity, you're definitely forgetting Knies has only played 2 years... He could be a phenomenal 2nd line guy. Now we get into the really good picks. Cowan looks like a superstar, minten could be an excellent 3 C if not a 2C. You're lost. For how many crap picks the leafs have had theyve done exceptional

    • @MichaelZanette
      @MichaelZanette Před měsícem

      @@darianhepner199 first off, Clark wasn't director of scouting all those years, he was in the role for 3 years, before that it was John Lilley, who was actually responsible for Sandin, Durzi and Holmberg. Wes Clark was a scout and took over the head role in 2021.
      I already mentioned Knies as a good pick. Cowan is great in junior it doesn't mean it'll translate to the NHL, same with Minten. Time will tell on these guys

    Dubas isn't going to be running things for long in Pittsburgh anyways lol. He is over hyped and not that great of a GM imo

    • @leoventresca7867
      @leoventresca7867 Před měsícem +2

      @84coleR , Dubas was the biggest mistake that Shanahan made, he had zero qualifications to be leafs gm, his bad trades, trading away of draft picks and overpaying of the ' core 5' have set the leafs back years and made Treliving's job even harder!

  • @CanadianMetalHead73
    @CanadianMetalHead73 Před měsícem +2

    If he's that loyal to Dubas, we are better off! I feel there will be more exits this off season or into next season. This is actually good for the organization overall. it stings now, perhaps, but it will allow Treliving to hire his own guys around him.

  • @John577
    @John577 Před měsícem +5

    He left because Tree told him to pick bigger players. Clark LOVES small players. No lose here at all.

  • @ganarama5726
    @ganarama5726 Před měsícem +1

    Only some people have the ability to see the hidden talent of young players. It is hard to explain but people like Wes Clark see that where no one else can.

  • @leoventresca7867
    @leoventresca7867 Před měsícem +3

    Devastating? The leafs have a brutal farm system with a couple of exceptions and Dubas is the most overated GM in the NHL!

    • @jimclarence5441
      @jimclarence5441 Před měsícem

      I'll disagree. Dubas isn't overrated by 99% of fans. Most folks don't think is a good GM....he may not even be an average GM.

    It makes no sense to me. Wes Clark was front and center during the rookie draft. He must have known his time with the Leafs were numbered. You wonder what advice he was giving the Leafs during the draft. Maybe the draft picks this year, the players the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Lol.
