The start of this scene always makes me wish there was more of a Tosh/Gwen friendship. We know they care about each other but we rarely got to see the two them spend time together which is a shame.
For starters they're the two central women of the show so you want them to interact like women do. But also the two are very much opposites in many ways and that could've made for an interesting dynamic and a great bond.
Like for instance Tosh is reserved, sweet and feels constantly invisible. Her biggest weakness is that she lets other people push her around and undermine her. She is brilliant though in calm, logical reasoning.
Gwen is the opposite. She speaks her mind and is outgoing. Her biggest problem is when she lets her emotions get the better of her judgement.
So Gwen could've bolstered Tosh's self esteem and made her be more proactive in her personal life. And Tosh could've told Gwen when she needed to take a breather.
Gah, I'm so sad it never happened 😞

That smile Jack had when Tosh said it may be the most powerful piece of technology they'd ever found just screams that he was thinking, "I've got half a dozen more powerful things than that in my desk, silly human ancestor."

I think Torchwood Season 1 and 2 are more appreciated is because the entire team felt more like friends rather than coworkers who recently met and are working together.
Just killing 2 of them messed up that friendship relationship severely because everyone worked together masterfully and connected due to their personalities being more compatible.

I wanted more Tosh, heck I want more Torchwood. Is there even a glimmer of hope now the BBC is at least posting these clips?! I miss a more adult version of sci-fi. I love Doctor Who and always will but.....that doesn’t mean there’s not room for other things too. Are they scared it will steal viewers from Who, when in fact it will drive more there?! Hope they can find a way to bring it back, ideally as an episodic format rather than specials.

3:17 Jack saying "they're are some things you aren't suppose to know" which I actually semi agree with Jack but at the same time disagree with him.
This episode was very interesting and had quite a few hints in clues. Yes Mary was a prisoner and was exciled and her mission was to find the teleporter, But at the end of the day. Tosh found love for the first time and Mary could see that. Their love was sincere. Tosh loved Mary and visa versa, Mary also taught Tosh a valuable lesson. To see and think how the torchwood team really think of her as the outter. The mental health stages that Tosh had to overcome once she knew about the betrayal of her team.
This wasn't some kind of advantage of Mary to take control. But to teach Tosh some strength and independence, standing up for herself instead of being quiet. That she works day and night and that Tosh is dedicated to do her job
Yes, the necklace had downfalls with breaching people's privacy, but at the same time, it had benefits. Whether saving another person's life or how other people would really think of you even if it's a so called "friend" I mean I would love that power if it was possible on this earth.
This episode was so unique and I sincerely believe Mary was going to take Tosh at the end to be with her and I believe for a split second. Tosh had the same agenda

Tosh and others might not be able to read his mind becuz of either what he is or the fact he's regenerated ((not in the time lord sort of sense but rather healing)) so many times his body has become more sophisticated making him immune to stuff like that, this would also explain his transformation into The Face Of Boe

    • @FurryWulfz
      @FurryWulfz Před 4 lety +3

As a time agent from the future, also very possible he's had training to prevent intrusions into his mind as in he's consciously able to prevent people getting in.
The way the Doctor/Doctor Who describes his condition and the way Torchwood shows/does is kinda inconsistent. The Doctor describes it (fixed point in time) is as Rose seeing every iteration that he died in and bringing him back to life. Like he died, she brought him back to life, he died again in the future after that so she brought him back then and so on and so on. He can't die because it's literally impossible. Whereas Torchwood implies its more immortality / he has amazing healing properties (particularly in Miracle Day) or something.

@@FurryWulfz I thought it could be that the energy from the heart of the TARDIS kept Jack alive because Rose as the Bad Wolf Entity resurrected him forever, using said energy. Whenever Jack dies, he revives again because the energy is, idk, "programmed" to make sure that Jack lives. As the TARDIS gets her energy from the time vortex (I think), time itself keeps Jack alive.
