And surely 4 people missed the benefits that stereo can provide in this video.
I'm almost sure we used an RF switch with ours.... so.....I DID MISS THE BENEFITS!! I'm going to pull this up on my stereo at home, now that I have good audio equipment, I can really benefit!

@@Chale1288 previous game only had title and stage 1 as good tracks. Rest all were meh. They apparently used devkit samples, giving it that generic sound

The Genesis version is in mono, so I obviously missed some benefits as a kid.

Genesis version sounds more like a club despite its lower quality. Most of the snes is just the word "oh" repeated at different pitches to make up a song. Catchy but corny. Always loved the Genesis versions vibe. We didn't miss out tooo much.
You can hear in stereo through the headphones jack
I was a lucky kid, had the 2 consoles back them... I only use the sega megadrive to play Mortal Kombat... every other game sound and played better at the Super-nintendo.

Kemco is still owned by it's founders,and Gremlin Graphics, the developer of Top Gear is now Sumo Digital,who do the Sonic racing games.

Nunca houve um jogo que eu jogasse sendo que antes eu tivesse de explorar todo o sound test. Fui tachado de maluco por causa disto, e hoje, virou cultura para muitos entusiastas como eu.
Eu já era vidrado! Sempre gostei muito do som desse e de outros jogos e não sabia que o que mais me prendia muita das vezes não era a jogabilidade e sim a trilha sonora. Para você ver que eu não estou mentindo, não sou muito fã da segunda franquia (o "title" é do caralho).
A começar pelo "title" e sem querer desmerecer, Top Gear é uma verdadeira Obra de Arte.

0:45 This has to be a very revolutionary way to using stereo sound or sound in general. You cannot hear this phrase with mono speakers, and im used it in the past to test if my stereo speakers were in a good condition.

Top gear has some of the greatest soundtracks in the 16 bit era. If you didn’t grow up with this u don’t get it

olha eu aqui de novo hahaha bom demais fazer as coisas no pc ouvindo top gear.
Não desmerecendo a versão do Mega Drive, cada console com suas características, mas o principal diferencial da versão SNES pra mim são as linhas do baixo, que no Mega são praticamente inexistentes... O baixo da Auckland é fodástico cara, conduz totalmente a música!
Nossa cara, você tem um ouvido bom, antes de ler seu comentário eu tava aqui justamente ouvindo e reparando no baixo, eu não conheço as versões do mega drive, mas agora fiquei curioso, depois vou pesquisar.

I thought I was crazy to like SNES soundtracks, glad there are fans out there. I usually pull SPC files from Zophars Domain and use Game Emu Player in Foobar2000

Para mim o melhor game da saga é o 2 (foi o que mais joguei). Melhor trilha sonora é o 1 e o 3000 eu tenho um sentimento meio ambíguo com ele. Gosto, mas não me marcou tanto quanto os outros 😅

TONS of Amiga demoscene stuff going on here. Seems a shame more of them didn't get into the SNES soundchip, the samples work really well with it.

I’m feeling the rush again! This game was super fun and ahead of time! Really well made for the console as well! Music is superb and 2nd game outdid the 1st. Love it!

seria interessante homenagear estes games de épocas tão importes e q consagraram o caminho para os games de corrida q hoje estão no mercado, colocando suas trilhas sonoras no meio de fases e pistas como surpresa aos ouvidos dos jogadores, Ouvir o som de uma trilha sonora como esta dentro de um game atual, me faria voltar décadas atrás como se estivesse em uma maquina do tempo.

It has bass, it has moar audio channels; but most important, it have some of the benefits that stereo can provide.
I had an old Zenith CRT with only one speaker in my living room when I was a kid. So when I played games on the SNES, i only heard it in mono. Of course, when you're a little kid, you don't understand these things til you're older. Other than the game boy and headphones, I never got to play games in stereo or surround sound til I was much older.
