Professor puts this as a required watch. Great voice and great demeanor as mentioned. I wish that clinical case management was not becoming the norm to cut costs, but good to know as a BSW student in case they shift back to the other roles.

Just want to say, thank you! I use this in my classes as a professor in human services. The book you link to is written by my colleague, Nancy Summers, and she just retired from our college. There is a fifth edition available and an e-text as well. Again, thank you and I wish you the best.

this is so helpful, I have no education in social work but I was doing the Clinical and strength-based approach to case management 10 + years, getting jobs without much interviewing because of my reputation and lived experience.. I am a graduate of the Group home institution and incarceration and have worked frontline in embattled communities, advocacy in City Hall and provincial govt as well as working alongside professors as a research assistant . In that capacity I was a one man force ..outreach case management and program creation/ facilitation were my tasks... Its amazing how much school ppl have done to do this work... the pay for those who went to school was much higher than mine was...
Years later I am returning to this work and without formal education again.. (who has time/money for school (lol) and this video has given me so much needed confidence and words to use. I give thanks!. I hope to not only reenter this work but create avenues for people like me to challenge some of the school borne credential needed for ppl like me self to give back while being fairly financially compensated... (smartphone typos my apology) much luv

I’m currently in grad school and in the process of doing my practicum/ internship out in the community. Currently, I work as a student therapist but I think I’m leaning towards case management. I’m not that interested in the therapeutic process and there’s a lot more models and other frameworks that you use in therapy than in case management.

Thanks so much. I’m looking to start my Diploma of Social work soon and hopefully continue with the bachelor. I’ve jumped the gun abit and binge watching your videos.
Would you say it’s mostly a desk job! Or do you often see the clients face to face?
I was really wondering if I’d be suited to case management as I am really bad and impatient with some detailed admin tasks such as filling out Centrelink forms etc. is that a common thing you would help clients with? If so I don’t think it’s for me. But if it’s mostly referrals, check ins etc I think I could!
Hope I can get my organisational skills up to scratch !
    Thanks again🙏🏽
