  • DPU, DPO, and DPMO are metrics that express how your product or process is performing, based on the number of defects. This video explains the concept of DPU, DPPM & PPM with help of examples. Three of the most common measurements are Defects Per Unit (DPU), Defects per Million Opportunities (DPMO) and Parts per Million Defective (PPM).

    Excellent Instruction. However, in the example about the PPM, the PPM was incorrect. The correct answer would have been 700,000 and not 70,000. 7 * 10^6 / 10 = 700,000. If it was 7* 10^5/10 then the answer would have been 70,000. Thanks again for your help with this!

    You haven't added number of opportunities in dpmo calculations.. we have to consider total parts manufactured as well..
