- Sainsbury’s Christmas Advert, 2015. Mog sets off a chain of unfortunate events which almost ruin Christmas for the Thomas family. Can she pull it all back to save the day?
This year, we worked in partnership with HarperCollins Children's Books and world renowned author and illustrator Judith Kerr to create a Christmas story based on her much loved character Mog. We hope that families will come together this Christmas to enjoy this very special story #ChristmasIsForSharing

I'm Canadian and not familiar with the character Mog. I am truly in love with this sweet, silly cat. Thank you for introducing her to the world.
It's a series of books. She gets into a lot of trouble but all she wants is a boiled egg! It's a really cute, one of my favourite childhood books

Im a 47 year old dad of 3 and i still cry at the end of this advert. Its the best christmas ad ever made and i don't think anyone could make a better one !!
I agree! A few years ago I ordered the book from Amazon UK and also ordered online from somewhere in England, a plush toy cat that looked like Mog. Had them sent to my granddaughter in the U.S., who also liked the commercial.

Stephanie Douranakis I had watched this beforehand without the audio so I knew she got an egg at the end but when I watched it a second time with audio, I heard "I think she'd rather have a neck" which was appropriate following the medal comment and the weight of the cat but I figured she said egg haha

Still my favorite ad ever. I found this online a some years ago, and post it in the U.S. to Facebook almost every holiday season. My granddaughter also liked it. I ordered the book and a stuffed animal cat that looked like Mog from England, had them sent to her.
It’s tradition to re-watch this every year. 😂
No wonder Sainsburys win awards for their ads, they're all so well done and heart warming showing us all what Christmas should be about!

This will forever be my favourite Christmas advert. I read all the Mog books as a child and was pretty traumatised by the last book. So when I saw this for the first time, I was laughing and sobbing at the same time. I love you Mog! Xxxx

@@A_B_C_D_E_F_G_H_I_J The last book is called 'Goodbye Mog', where Mog dies. It's sad, but I think it's well done and child-friendly as well in it's own way. Maybe a good book for a kid who lost a pet, yeah, but personally it makes me cry.

I miss mog, I still have a mog plushie and I can still remember reading “Goodbye Mog” it reminded me of my old cat Monty, who died at 17. Miss you, buddy.

I'm not really a cat fan, but this advert is really well done. Poor Mog swinging on the ceiling fan! Like it says at the end, Christmas Is For Sharing. It was lovely that everyone came together and helped each other out.

Yes. It was the worst thing that ever happened in my young life.
"Mog was so tired. Her head was tired. Even her tail was tired. She wanted to sleep forever and so she did." Those lines are forever embedded in my mind.
Yeah I never knew she died until I went into my school library a found a mog book, it was one I'd never read before because it was my dad who always used to read them to me and for obvious reasons he missed that one out... One of the most heart breaking moments.
