- Presenting the new Sainsbury’s Christmas Advert - a joyous Christmas musical created in stop frame animation featuring vocals by James Corden. It tells the story of Dave, a hard-working and devoted Dad, who realises that the greatest gift he can give people this Christmas is his time.
As the first snow falls, we find our hero Dave caught up in the Christmas whirlwind - all he wants to do is to get home to spend time with his family, but all sorts of Christmas duties and calamities are getting in his way. That is until he sees a gingerbread man on his daughter’s bedside table that they’ve made to look like him. That gives him a genius brainwave…

I work in Sainsbury's (convinience) and we get Xmas day off but, nothing else. However, as we all get on like family swapping shifts and covering each other so those with kids can see family works pretty well. And working a few hours Boxing Day isn't really an issue, it's money in my pocket and it's normally a nice shift as everyone is in the festive spirit. I'm not paid to say Sainsbury's treats staff well - but they really really do.

Ashleigh Louise you'll find that about retail. Not just Sainsbury's. I've just started working for Sainsbury's in the online department and we get xmas eve Christmas Day and Boxing Day off. That's quiet lucky for any retail job. I use to work In a home furnishing store that sold furniture and cushions and stuff and we had to choose weather we got New Year's Day off or Boxing Day, you weren't allowed both

Excited to finally see this. My husband built the kitchen set, other interior props and the houses in the street scenes. It took weeks of work during the summer months and they only get a few seconds of air time, but was a fun project to work on. Great to see the end collaborative result. 👏👏👏

You missed the message. The greatest give is just to be there with your family no matter what. We all hits the highs and lows but family stays pretty much a constant. The greatest gift is love my friend. Hope you have a great Christmas this year and wishing you the best of health!

I couldn't afford to buy my family gifts last year but they didn't care at all, we spent a lovely day together and they still got me gifts despite me not being able to afford it. My dad always says "I don't care about gifts, as long as we get to spend time together" and thanks to him my sister and I grew up with the same mindset, its the people that make your holidays special. Not the presents! 😊❤️

profmalicious well no. Its just the way its done. Felt like it was dragging a bit and then as the song started getting repetitive, it was then rushed at the last minute.

Lunatic Llama yeah, like, i liked the whole snow flake on the track idea, mocking the delays on our tracks. But it went by so quick that it kind of lost the humour to it. Bit disappointing. I don't feel ready for christmas this year. Kind of feels like 'ALREADY!!?', but I was hoping the sainsbury's ad would at least be good to get me in spirit, but instead I feel a bit underwhelmed and now I've got 5 weeks of brick solid overtime to look forward to. Christmas jus feels like more work this year.

This is my favourite Christmas advert. Mainly because it doesn’t feel like an advert. There’s no advertising in it apart from the ending it focuses on Christmas and what makes it special. That makes it much more than an advert it’s the best Christmas advert there is and it beats Kevin the carrot and all the John Lewis adverts for me. It’s amazing in every way
