A6 Driver: You know who I am? I'M THE JUGGERNAUT *BITCH!*
Thought the same thing when I saw the comparison - the ATAT would have no chance to get out of the way.
If it came in at 160khp, …well it's good that you've got that extra driving position at the rear. If you want to do it repeatedly, just swing around and broadside the ATAT _at_ low speed, it would be knocked over and the impact damage to the Juggernaut would be minor.
I wonder how an AT AT and a Juggernaut would fair in a shooting match with each other?
Of course the Juggernaut could outflank a AT AT easily on anything but a narrow pass.

OH GOD DID THEY JUST FORGOT THIS VEHICLE becouse it was to OP?
Some things I personally love about this vehicle in particular are the fact that it is a wheeled vehicle with a transmission, suspension, and all that fun stuff (Since a walker would seemingly need a lot more energy/effort to move) and the fact that it's double ended, having two driving cabs much like a streetcar. No idea why, but that satisfies me greatly. I want to see more wheeled/tracked things in Star Wars to contrast with the large amount of walking/repulsorlift vehicles.
Personally, I would say the vehicle was scuttled by the clone crew fleeing via some command, much like certain variants of German "Big Cats" during World War II in order to make them harder to reverse engineer. Which was technically the right thing to do as a lot of their design features were objectively silly.
Oh, and they forgot to add a horn somewhere onto the vehicle :P

I remember when I was reading Battlefront: Twilight Company, the coolest scene in my opinion was during the battle of Hoth, when a group of rebels stole one of these things that was abandoned and used it to get back to their outpost. They had two people driving while everybody else rode on the top to blast imperials along the way.
Did you buy the battlefront book?
Just a normal Thursday with the boys
That book is too good
*A couple of design improvements:*
Get rid of that _manned_ observation tower. Either make it a remote hi res sensor unit is (armoured) so that the crew inside, including commanders, could get a detailed view of the local territory and battlefield on a holographic map - along with lifeform and droid scanners and so forth, to pick up any lizards trying to sneak along clifftops. Or even a drone launcher for a observation drone that stays above and feeds telemetry.
But a retractable sensor array of probably the best.
A heavy main gun on top of the tank in a turret, something for one shot kills. Similar to the mass driver on a AT-TE, maybe even the same or a larger version (or twin linked for logic logistical purposes).
Or just a heavy Turbolaser - which would justify the _turbo tank_ moniker, as well as devastating any vehicle it faced, along with Aircraft slow enough to tag.
A bit of close antipersonnel weaponry to discourage climbing on the tank - flamers, light Lasercannons, whatever.
A series of close circuit sensors/ cameras for situational awareness about enemies trying that tactic.
The big change that may be beyond it, or require a different variant that has greatly reduced cargo and passenger capacity is a shielded version.
Maybe even a special model that has no internal capacity, it's all shield generators and it puts out a base shield that covers it's teammates.
At this rate, it could take down the bloody Death Star!
And now that I say that, I’ve got the image of one of these floating through space towards it, with the clones inside screaming “LEROY JENKINS!!!”
Could be good as a pure battle varient then. No troops, just weapons for breaking through an enemy stronghold
All good ideas imo
There's already a heavy repeating cannon on top doofus
I always found it fascinating how civilizations in Star Wars managed to make actual FTL drives, artificial gravity generators and factories that mass produce humans, but it never occurred to them to make radar or fire control systems or just a bloody externally mounted 360° camera. Most ground vehicle and aircraft designs fielded by different factions are painfully obsolete by even modern day Earth standards.
Yea. No drones either. They would be great for scouting
IMO a lot of these weapons are more antiquated due to massive advances in jamming and spoofing technology. Kind of like how in dune shields made ranged weapons obsolete so they use blades
@@zachcarter7535 oh that’s why that happened i was so confused everything was so futuristic and then they started fighting like it was mid evil times lol those must be some op shields
🤓
The reason for that is simple, would you like a sci fi universe where the battles are just 2 bozos separated with thousands of kilometer of distance and throwing rocks on each other’s (with no gravity in space, rocks would be the deadliest weapon because they would go very fast)
Yes it’s a bit stupid to have so many sci tech have no radars or anything, but at the same time it’s to keep the action fun to watch.
The juggernaut’s most powerful weapon: drifting. That would be my fav tactic

When ROTS's trailer came out, I was seven and one of the key things they showed was the scene of the Juggernaut releasing it's payload on the Separatist forces during the Battle of Kashyyyk. For a seven year old to see that, you better believe I was in awe. It was epic.
If there was ever a self-destruction mechanism, it would be terrifying... This thing going down at top speed, ramming something like an AT-AT and then self-destructing...
Nah, it would probably smaller explosive spread around, which are controlled from a few nodes, and not all directly interconnect, to prevent such things....on the other side, this is the Star Wars Universe, the one with only a few handrails.

Day 3000: Finally recieved drive shaft
Day 3001 - Drive shaft broke again.
I recall this was on Dathomir? So not very popular to deliver to?
@@chrissonofpear1384 nah it's just the fact juggernauts never where made for a long period of time and when they where very few spare parts where made especially the massive driveshaft that goes the entire length of the juggernaut so basically if that broke you ain't going anywhere for a very long time
The bigger end is the "true" cockpit/front, because the main exit ramps were below the smaller one. Generally, you want your infantry to dismount from the rear of a vehicle so they can take cover behind it. Additionally, more technical equipment and power related stuff were located in the narrow "neck" portion. This would make a reasonably good target, so it would make sense to advance with that part of the tank in the rear.
This thing makes much more sense than an imperial ATAT
yes even the first order upgraded these more rather than ATAT walkers
The question is how well it works against anti-vehicle mines. That's the main reason the ATAT is built the way it is. It's a walking artillery canon that can transport troops across battlefields and was immune to anti-vehicle mines due to its height. Mines that commonly took out ATTEs
@@corruptangel6793 eh, at that point, just fly troops in if they are worried about mines. For surface battle, I'd have stuck with these. I mean, an AT AT is nothing compared to the size and expected cost of the many star destroyers they have, those things are city sized. If the empire had those kinds of resources, they could sacrifice a few of these if it meant getting the job done. There can't be that many mines, and ultimately if the mines force you to use ATATs instead of these, the mines have already done more damage without a single one even going off haha.
We all know it is just the case of design team coming up with these after the original trilogy coz they wanted something cool.
Even the AT TE makes more sense than the ATAT. U can take out 2 legs off the the ATTE n it could still walk, depending on which legs were taken out. U just need to take out one leg from an ATAT to topple it.
The juggernaut has 10 wheels. U can take out 6 wheels and it could still crawl back to safety (again, depend on which wheels were taken out),, and even if ALL the wheels are gone, its still in an upright position. Its not going to topple over like the ATAT. Its still capable of firing it weapons eventhough its effectively immobile.
@@BLACKVVAR I'm confused, what costs as much as a Star Destroyer? 'Cause an ATAT sure as hell doesn't.

Un nombre, Nada mas or, if you think about the size, you could have a mission where droids, stole one of the Juggernauts, and the player has to play as an elite clone with 2 others and take the whole ship back, fighting his way through the different storys and sections of the tank...
@@lukashirschmann8336 i don't think it could be thaaat big for that, but sounds cool
The few seconds this mammoth vehicle has been on screen were some of the most awesome in Star Wars and a battle between this, (or a new version of it), and the largest of the AT series of walkers would be one of the finest vehicular face-offs in movie history
The Juggernaut was developed on the Kuat testing planet, Australia by Captain "Mad" Max
1:16 I'm more inclined to believe the clones issued a self destruct sequence during that clip. Don't want that beast used against you by your enemy.
Good grief imagine if the juggernaut was going over bumpy terrain while you were up in the scout tower.

Completely off topic, but watching the battle of Kashyyk, what was the CIS's reaction to the Clones suddenly gunning down all the Jedi.
Did the fighting continue or did the CIS stop in confusion or because they received orders or a sudden cease fire offer from the GAR.
And if not, what did the clone army do after killing all their Generals and best fighters…keep pressing with the objective or suddenly pull back in the knowledge that the war would soon be ended.?

The Juggernaut is literally my favorite ground vehicle in all of SW.
It’s also important to point out that in both felucian uses, at the coruscant base, and several other reference pictures (such as the speed comparison) these are the weaker A5 juggernauts, not the massive A6 we see on Kashyyyk
WOAH AT 0:00 YOU CAN SEE A SWAMP SPEEDER! I never knew it came out in the movie!
First time I've seen these in EP. 3, I was like "HOLY SH$T!!!"
Liked and enjoyed watching this.
A beast of a machine. The fact that each wheel has 3 independently moving wheels is pretty friggin incredible.
God I loved the clones. I hated hearing about situations where they were tortured or painfully killed. I never really knew why I was so attached to them, maybe the fact they were forced to exist, fight in a war, kill their friend's and then die had something to do with it.
The Juggernaut was most likely scuttled
for not having a working drive shaft
Note: the instant action battlefront map for kashyyyk takes place after the galactic assault map, and galactic assault has droids infiltrating the tanks and setting bombs in the cockpits to destroy them.
i honestly think id shit my self if i saw one of these things coming at me at 99mph unless i was a jedi or bounty hunter.

In my opinion, this is probably one of the best and most versatile ground vehicles the Republic fielded. It could've been sized down into a small recon/armored support vehicle or had additional weapons added and be made a rolling thundering fortress. Or it could've been gutted, armored, given sensors and called a mobile command post.
Really with a solid platform like this, they could've done basically anything with it.

Fantastic video, ROTS had so many great designs.
Maybe it was set up to explode, so it would not fall to enemy hands?
Cylindryk “scuttled”
The juggernaut is the only Star Wars vehicle I know of that has wheels
It seems that speeder technology is so prevalent that even backwater planets have access to speeders eliminating the need for wheeled vehicles.
Speeders are actually kind of a safety hazard in my opinion.
One of my favorite SW vehicles. Right next too the republic gunship!
It might well have the been the rear ammunition that blew on that Juggernaut - you can see an access hatch toward the rear also blowing off and up at the same time the front(?) part was blown off as well. The size of it is just insane when you look at it compared to other vehicles (as you show) - that and the fact that it can carry 300! troops. wowsers!! Just imagine the torque required to turn those wheels.. and good grief, the momentum created when running at top speed - you could probably run straight over an AT-TE without stopping.
I got the original lego set of this thing for Christmas, and it was awesome
The height at the bottom (ground clearance) is needed for more than just troops to hide under it, it's so it can get over rough terrain so a pretty big rock won't stop it or slow it down.

In battlefront its such a massive behemoth, but in clone wars its like 10% bigger than an AT-TE... I hate inconsistencies like that...
Yeah I choose to ignore the clone-wars one. The size difference, the random explosion, the gun on the small cockpitt. Too many inconsitencies.
@Bryan Doucette You're not wrong, but the A5 is still legends (even though its in CW) and the A6 is the only current canon version (source wookiepedia.) Again its just little inconsistencies that irk me haha!

The juggernaut is well protected
It is well armed
But most importantly
It can’t be tripped
I know what it's like to drive something similar to one of these.
I was an Air Force fire fighter, and we had the P-15. It carried 5,000 gallons of water, and 515 gallons of AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam). Fully loaded it weighed a little over 400,000 pounds. A 200+ ton fire truck. Each tire, not wheel assembly, just the tire, weighed 2,500 lbs.
It was a big vehicle. Even though it had two 500 cubic inch engines, it was still slow. 0-50 in 55 seconds. This truck was the definition of "surround and drown". With two 1200gpm turrets, we would put out training fires of jet fuel in about 20 seconds. Our fire pit was 150 feet in diameter, and we'd burn between 3,000 and 5,000 gallons of fuel on a large frame aircraft mock-up.
This truck is so big that it is illegal to drive it off of an airport flight line. There are no bridges that can hold its weight. To put it in different terms; A C-5 Galaxy could carry two Abrams tanks. It had trouble carrying one of these.
