You know that it’s one of the best fictional worlds when you can make 5 years worth of content about it!
I love that there's middle earth content on CZcams that isn't all about controversy and heated arguments, that there's a small corner of comfort and education on the masterful worldbuilding of tolkein. Your channel and your voice are so relaxing and your videos are always a treat to watch, (or rather listen to, as I do). Thank you for making these videos, I cannot express my gratitude.
"The sea calls us home"
I've always been curious about how the elves of Lindon interacted with the remaining dwarves of Ered Luin in the mountains there, especially since Belegost or Túrosto/Gabilgathol wasn't completely destroyed (unlike Nogrod, but rather left in ruin by its people of which many scattered or left for Khazad-Dûm in the 2nd Age). I have a feeling Tolkien meant to work more with this but never came back around to it. Thus why his son made some changes to the location of the great fortress city on later maps that his father had.
"On second thought, let's not go to Lindon. Tis' a silly place." - some king somewhere
I first heard of Lindon as the Stronghold in the Light Green section of the Risk Board game(been a few years but pretty sure that is Eriador).
Very nice with this Region History content.
Man, Lindon is one of the most beautiful places in Middle Earth...That is still around in the 3rd Age, Score for the Silmarillion!!!
When it comes to Lindon, one of things that comes to my mind except some tolkienists things is this:
I Love your voice and attitude as much as the info. You clearly have a passion for the subject and it shows in your voice and and makes your videos my favorite of their style on youtube.
Interesting that Lindon acted as a haven throughout history: the Green Elves, Beren and Luthien, remaining Noldor and Teleri, and maybe so of Elendil's group too. Sad that it went from a peaceful land to a sanctuary to a refuge to at last a desolate land full of history but with no one to appreciate it deeply like the elves would.
Keep up the great work Mellon! It's always nice to hear of Lindon, and the good king Gil-Galad. ECTHELION
Thanks for more content man!
Fantastic work as always.
Another great video, love the history of Lindon! It always gets me wanting to write and create histories. Tolkien had a true gift for mythology, and you for recounting the wondrous history and lore of his world Yoystan!
Another fun and interesting video of Tolkien's world. The art of Jenny Dolfen that you present here is breathtaking. She is an amazing artist and I love the faces she creates for Tolkien's characters. Thank you very much for the upload, it was very entertaining to watch.
What a breath of fresh air
Love your middle earth lore and commentary. Very accurate and Keep up the good material
Fantastic video, as always. Enjoyed it very much.
Lindon is my favorite. I have so many vivid memories of how its country overlaid the country of my youth as I read. I can see it clearly even now.
