I don't understand why HK is still showed in every economic ranking. It's just a part of China, an autonomous part with specific legislation, but just a part still. What Hongkonguese and Chinese think about that?
@@KartovOndulevitch As a Hongkonger, I consider it as a complex issue. Not being a sovereign state though, Hong Kong does act independently on many aspects. For example, it has its own jurisdiction system, customs, border controls and currency. And it takes parts in many international organizations as an independent member, such as IMF, UNESCO, IOC. So the degree of autonomy is fairly high comparing to most of the dependent territories. In many cases when Hongkongers or Mainland Chinese people refer to China, it doesn’t include Hong Kong and Macao.

I think it is because Hong Kong has begun to dedicate itself to more advanced and higher value-added sectors. So it wouldn't be negative.
