This video shows Rear View Camera Installation on a Motorcycle with a custom motorcycle monitor mount. This Rear View Camera Installation will allow you to see behind you while in traffic or while riding.

Great guide for implementation with other bikes. I've got a zx6r in the garage which has similar space limitations to your gsxr. My only issue with this location is the blockage of the instrument cluster. I'm going to use this guide as reference to install this into my adventure bike, where I have much more room under the screen above the cluster. I'll report back with results. Thanks for the vid.

You should put some little rubber things on the windscreen so when you flip the monitor up it doesn't make that nasty noise. Over all nice job man I like it. Keep up the nice work

Really great to have this, especially for tailgaters, Not to mention Evidence. (and Definitely with you on the 'down-low' install). -I am looking to try and find a 12v 4 Channel CCTv hub/recorder )(Fw/Rear/Gauges/and the 'Just in case" cam). I go cross country a lot.
And those cabinet hinges are great!... ;) - I used Three of those bad boys to hold up a custom-made dust cover for a turntable. (Thing kept feeding back ..I like to listen Loud.. -So I went out and had some 1/4" Acrylic Cut to spec, made a near sound proof dust cover, Problem Solved!Those things are great! -And WAY Stronger than the tin foil ones that come with the saran wrap covers most TT's come with anyway ;)

I wanted to buy a Tao Tao ATM 50 moped from Amazon that cost 700$ can I mount a back up camera to that specific bike I don’t know because it might not work if my moped doesn’t have a reverse gear to activate the camera but yes you’re motorcycle is awesome
esta exelelnte su idea y la lleve acabo con mi 750 solo surge un problema conectaron al encendido del swicht de inicio y esto al encender la moto se mete la interferencia en el monitor de reversa... lo ideal es hacerlo directamente a la bateria con un encendido aparte como lo hice yo... eliminando la interferencia del motor. saludos y muy buena idea amigos....

Nice setup. The only thing I would add is maybe some rubber foam on the edge to not damage the monitor with the constant flipping. Other than that, nice setup.
true. it sounds a lot louder on the video,because of the mic I was using, but a little foam would help.

I like the idea of a rear view camera but what I don't want is the backup lines that I see on the monitor. I would like to have a "clear view" of what's behind me. Anyone know of where I can get similar products that don't produce those lines?

I'm pretty sure that it covering your speedometer is illegal, and I know you said you never look at your speed, but I also think that is a bad idea too. Cleaver, but needs a be done another way.

+bigbandit007 Yes, I do, but then what good is the camera if it stays up the whole time? Unless, your use is for it to only help you back up. Again, I personally do not like the idea, but it is cleaver. I've seen some neat ways to do this mod. It looks like you also may not have much of a choice with the amount of room. What are you going to use to camera for mainly?

Did you reinforce the back part of the monitor when you braced it to hinge and did you use preexisting screws from hinge to connect monitor to hinge? I ask bcuz I was wondering if flipping over time would cause screws to give way thru the back of monitor. Keep up the good work. Thanx

That's great. I just cringe every time you flip it up, and it smacks into the windscreen. I would put foam pads, or beads of silicone between those surfaces, to absorb the shock, of flipping it up. And I would rather build a custom dash, with the monitor in the upper middle, and the gauges around it. Maybe use aftermarket gauges from Glowshift, or some other company.

By the way, you can put a spring loaded switch on your cabinet hinge, so when you flip the monitor up it cuts off power to the unit.

What everyone needs to see is how you wired it.
I dont get it, whats wrong with mirrors, or your neck?
Heem Lo Unlike cars, ALL bikes have mirrors inline with some part of your body, meaning even the best ones show some arm, the worst ones show all arm. To avoid this, a bike's mirror would have to mount outside the front profile of the bike and the rider. The stalks would have to be 8-12 inches longer than the best mirrors out there, making your bike look like crap and putting them at risk for snapping off. So what's wrong with mirrors? They don't work. Your view is obstructed by your arm. Your neck? One, based on rate of speed, it is very dangerous to try to look 180 degrees behind you (which requires a neck and likely a body twist, and even so the last several degrees will be peripheral vision, not direct vision). I am not referring to a head check of 90 degrees of the next lane to move over, but a longer twist to look directly behind you. Second, it may not even be possible. If you have a passenger or various luggage, racks, sissy bars, tall backpacks, or whatever, the neck move may not even be possible. This device keeps your head and eyes forward. Finally, if these things are required in cars in the next couple years (for backing up), isn't this all the more important for you?
