I modded my EX5 last night and just seen you made a video lol, Mine has dual wifi antennas for the fpv and you do not need to poke the drones antenna out side, the EX5 can reach the 1km range of flight distance easily, mine did anyways in my range test after my full review on this EX5 drone. I will be range testing the Wifi FPV improvement on mine tomorrow now both the wifi antennas are outside the body of the drone
very nice :D i ask for the 1km version but they gave me 200m fpv version and it only gives me 80meters and that's not enuff
your lucky you get 1km+ i hear from others they only get 600meters from ex5 with 2 fpv antennas just like yours
do you think your 5g fpv is 5.8ghz? or is it wifi?
@@HowToDIYRc no its just 5ghz WiFi, as far as I know 5.8ghz is for analog fpv live feed that you use with fpv goggles or a ground station monitor screen, not wifi relayed to a phone or other wifi device.

Hello, is it possible to install a coreless motor instead of brushless on this quadcopter board? Because the motor without a core has two output wires, but the motor of this quadcopter has four wires

Hi. I'm planning to buy Ex5 Pro and i wonder if i can remove stock camera and attach RunCam 2 instead and have FPV from it? Or it isn't worth the hussle.
And can i change the connectors for battery? Use normal lipo that's available in store.
It can carry a runcam and modify the battery is possible but not easy
Does the plastic block or absorb the signal or is it the proximity of metal parts ?? Thanks.

Thank you for the videos. I learnt a lot from them before purchasing. I have the 1km ex5 and I have checked and have two aerials but the range is not very good. Can you recommend two replacement aerials for the fpv? I have a wifi repeater on the way to see if that helps
A WIFI REAPETER IS A GOOD IDEA AND SHUTG WORK TO IMPROVE THE FPV RANGE I DID NOT TEST OTHER ANTENNAS YET SO I DONT IF THERE ARE BETTER ONES BUT I LOVE TO UPGRADE TO PAGODA ANTENNAS
I assume that the version I have with two aerials has one aerial for 2.4ghz and one for 5ghz? Would that be correct? I'll order a few aerials and experiment and let you know the results

@@ginoo4636 Ciao Simone, ho fatto la modifica. Ho messo fuori dal drone, nella parte posteriore/inferiore l'antenna color argento. La distanza a cui arriva il video, é circa il doppio. Sicuro é che non arriva a 1000 metri, ma a 1000 piedi!

Hi, i want to buy 1 of this eachine ex5, do you know if the dron can fly without the complete FPV circuit? because I'm planning to remove it in order to put a 5.8GHz sistem underneath with a naked Akaso camera.

Quick question: If the camera module was removed entirely would the ex5 still fly well? My goal is to lighten the drone and remove any possibility of signal interference from the digital FPV signal so I can attach a heavier analog FPV camera setup.
PS. An easier way to make the holes is to pierce the plastic with a hot SOLDERING IRON. Or use a manual drill or less powerful power drill.

Have you tried any other wifi antennas (not the stock one)? How much range gain did you actually get by moving it outside? I saw the 'results' video but couldn't tell what the original M was before mod? Am more interested in wifi, not controller extender as that range seems good already

Yeah that is the main thing I don't like about Dremel type drills! A regular drill you could let off the trigger thus controlling it much better.
That connector is a IPEX connector I believe. So get a IPEX to SMA chassis mount then you can run whatever 5.8ghz antenna you want. Just use caution not to make the hole to large! LOL
It sucks the 2.4ghz antenna is soldered on!
Next thing would be to modify the controller antenna. I wonder if its soldered on?
Hi, my drone ex5 model, yesterday was working in Wi-Fi, since today, it no longer transmits Wi-Fi signal, my phone and other devices can no longer find the drone signal, how can I fix it? I can't connect the drone to the phone and take photos, Thanks a lot
maybe a loose connection open it up and check all the connectors and check if the flightboard get power

Hi my friend, i am very curious on your mod! 👍 But a question: have you flew the "sjrc f11 4k drone"? Well mine arrived 2 days ago... i tested out a little but it seems like this version is modified it flyes strange not the same as the previous models... strange issues i think.

no i dident fly the sjrc f11 i like to stay with eachine that got a simmeler looking drone but they do more work on fine tuning the FC on flight behavior what are the strange problems your running into? do you have a vid on YT?
@@HowToDIYRc dont have a video yet. Well its flys like it has no power enough in the wind and drifts a little on gps mode... very strange
sounds like its under powered but its also the high design of the drone that gives wind more upertunity to blow it away

For now I think the main thing is to do like you and get the antennas inside the drone out away from metal and components. That should help the FPV.

the ESC & VTX Transmitter send out the most noize that hurt the range + the plastic body hurt the antenna signal strength
