This is a benefit of adapting pre-existing characters from non film media into film media. You can find people with real passion, but also, more importantly, respect for a character. The actor isn’t the star, the character is.

It's more like everybody started equating Iron Man to RDJ, which is the opposite of how a situation should be when it comes to an actor acting like a certain character. RDJ Tony and Comic Tony are pretty different, until they started changing the comic to seem more like RDJ Tony haha.

Binged it, I like it. I don't completely agree with the order in which they present things or some changes from the books but the show is definitely not bad. I am kind of curious though how a person that hasnt read the books or played the game would interpret it.

What I love is that Henry seems to make a conscious effort to mention the names of people in his team. Usually, it's like "the makeup team did this" or "our costume designer worked on it" but Henry's like, here's the name of my makeup artist, the person responsible for my hair, and the gym I went to in Budapest while we're at it"
Like, he's aware that he's the first front of people working in the film industry and always the center of attention, but there are so many more people working silently in the background, and he's doing his best to share his spotlight with them and I love it, I love this man

All I can say is that Henry did justice to portray Geralt. He didn't lie when he said he is a fan of the games and the books.
You can tell how genuine he's being just by his enthusiasm and how quickly he responds to her questions in a gushing way. I'm glad he has found a good role because all of his other performances (especially superman) have been kinda shite and I don't think it's entirely his fault.
henry is a gamer..he did play the witcher and because of that, he portrayed geralt beautifully..only prob is he's too bulky for geralt lol
I know that many will disagree, but even if he lied I am fine with that. Actors and especially producers nowadays don't even pretend. It's always: yea you are toxic, why do you even care you are such stupid nerds, yada yada. A tiny amount of my money went to that man and I am fine with that, good money for good work and a respectful relationship.

Yup finished all 8 episodes but as someone who has never played any of the games and hasn’t read any of the books it was hard to understand the timelines and what was going on until it got to the last few episodes and everything came together.

Binge watched that show to hell on the first day, I’m not necessarily proud of myself for having spent a good portion of the day eating pizza while watching Netflix but I wanted to see where they took this adaptation, needless to say I’m pleased with the result.

@@PositivelyAngela Oh wow, yea I'm super stoked for you to have found it. This series has so much potential to be right up there with game of thrones. Which, let's be honest, this first season Destroyed season 8 of GOT. All the actors on that show are fucking embarrassed of how shotty the ending was, and they filmed it lol. Book to film was done well, and even video game to movie was done well. The only complaint I have is not enough character development for 3 separate timelines. The show needs 10-12 episodes, not 8. If they fix that, fans will be That much happier 💯

Comparing Witcher to GoT is like comparing Star Trek to Star Wars. You never hear things like "Wrath of Khan is way better than Empire Strikes Back" - we love both and don't even think of comparing them.

In GoT, Vladimír Furdík (The King of the Night) was in charge of the fight choreography and of training Jonh Snow with the Sword achieving incredible choreographies. In The Witcher Netflix added this Plus by hiring the Excellent Vladimir Furdik to do the same, he trains Henry Cavill (Gerald) and it is his double risk. As if that were not enough, they also hire the same landscaper of Got who will work with production to make everything perfect according to the century. It has nothing to do with GoT? Of course not. Exactly 2 elements that were epic in GoT. (It's nice to be curious WINK)
People are comparing The Witcher to GoT because The witcher is the answer by Netflix to HBO. We don't care about the platform, we just watch it. But behind it, it's a War...
I hope Witcher won’t be the next Game of Thrones. I couldn’t bare to have to forget 3 seasons of a show just so I can say “I like Game of Thrones” again.

Every interview should be like this. Interviewers should guide the conversation and ask follow-up questions but the questions should always prompt hopefully lengthy and passionate answers from the person being interviewed.

So happy Henry, played the part of Geralt. Just finished watching the Witcher on Netflix’s and he did a fantastic job, completely nailed the role. Witcher fans of the game & the books will not be disappointed.

I've never read the books or played the games and I loved it. My Polish friend who plays the games and read the books loves it. But there are people online nit-picking and who were looking for a carbon copy of the books and didn't get it. Can never please all the fans or even general viewers.

It really blows my mind the way he nailed the whole speech aspect. I was expecting Cavill sounding like himself, but with added bass. But god damn he sounds just like Geralt on the ps4. I know, I know, Books =/= game saga, but I bet there is a large demographic % watching the series who spent plenty of hours playing the game, and listening to Geralt talk, so having his very distinct tone and delivery burned into our brains is inevitable. francis mendiola as someone who is studying hair, it removes pigment from hair. Over processing hair can kill it. To safely make his hair that light and grey it would have been a long process as not to over do his hair. It also would have taken a very long time to grow it back out. Production companies and agents would rather him wear a wig so he can do other projects also.

In all the interviews I’ve seen with Henry, he is always polite, sincere, humble and self deprecating.
He’s a well grounded chap, I like this.

One of the best adaptations of a character from a novel or game that I've ever seen. He sounded identical to game Geralt to the point where it was uncanny. Brilliant performance that critics won't recognize due to the simplicity of the character.. They don't realize how difficult it is to do that voice
One of my favourite actors out there, hes so passionate about his roles. Hes great as geralt and an incredible superman. Fingers crossed we get plenty more seasons of the witcher and a man of steel sequel
Comparing The Witcher to Game of Thrones is like comparing Star Wars to Star Trek. They are their own thing, stop comparing.
Usually not a fan of women interviewers with Henry, but she was very professional and had some good questions in there
As nd yet they gave the show bad reviews. Well I ave been watching it and this show is excellent. The stunts, acting, music and tone all perfectly capture the feel of the game. Henry Cavill is dead on as Geralt. Yennifer is also great. I hope we see more of Triss as she was sort of touched on but not really featured. Cirella is also very well done. The characters feel real, the dialogue is excellent and thank God it's not game of thrones. This show has violence and foul language and sex because they are part of life. But it also has heart. And hope.
Watch it if you want to be challenged as well as entertained.
Problem is that they mash too much lore into each episode... For someone who isn't very familiar with the witcher it's hella confusing, because there isn't enough time dedicated to explaining things.
It was good, but it WASN'T without flaws.
With that said, I cant wait for the 2nd season!

I love how one of the first times he really smiles in the show (that I noticed, lol) was talking to Yen.
The first smile I really noticed was when he saved Jaskier from the angry guy in court in 1x04. But it was a brief, smaller smile than the one with Yen.

i watched the show and i have to say if thier ever been a adaptation of a character from the books or the games is that henry being Geralt is the best casting choice. I admit i was skeptical at first but when i watched the show. He's voice, Demeanor, stature. Really does give the character of Geralt justice. As someone who has 200 hours in the games i believe he did a superb job as Geralt.

@@esawfranco_xiii Would argue that this season was like 10 episodes, since each was 55+ minutes of actual new content. Compare that with The Mandalorian for example, where some eps are like 27 minutes without the review at the beginning and the credits later.
He's really a nerd. Not just for the witcher, but for games and books. He did reads a lot for Superman, you can ask him anything and he would answer it in a clever and enthusiastic way. So glad there are really people in the show or movie business who's really really really into their stuff.

When i heard him talk in the first episode I Had a feeling he played the games,and one scene where he was riding roach and when he slowed him down he said "whoaa" just like in the game !
