I've used mostly flagships till now (S3, S4, iPhone 6, iPhone 8 Plus, S9). Due to certain circumstances, I found myself without a phone and just recently bought Mi A1 as a temporary device. Except the camera, this phone has such good performance it made me realize that paying 3-4 times the amount of money for a flagship is not really worth it.
When you buy a phone so you watch videos to tell you that you made a good choice lol 😂

bought this phone on release and only died on my a couple months ago. one of the best purchases i made ever, lasted so long and saw a lot of mileage overtime. very nice.
Would be glad if they provided EIS through update.
Otherwise happy with my A1 for everything else.
Mohit Wanyalkar Same. But coming from an S5, I miss the Amoled screen. Still worth all the upgrades and amazing performance.
Isaax I've never used an Amoled screen, so not a problem for me.
The devices which provided Amoled display in this range weren't good enough, hence picked A1

Ordered Xiaomi Mi A1 for myself a couple days ago to replace the current iPhone 5S I've been using for the last 2+ years.
A bit sad that the camera looks so bad but oh well, I'm not a huge photographer anyways and in every other aspect I feel like I'm receiving an upgrade!
Not that Iphone 5S has a good night camera. I'm a 5S user too and thinking of buying this phone in Christmas.

James Smith G5s is nowhere near Mi A1. Mi a1 has better ram management, better portrait mode & add 2x optical zoom, it has better battery life & has already received 4 software updates. It's running on October security patch as of now while G5s is yet on the same software. Also Mi a1 has better speaker & Audio output through headphone jack is great given that it has a DAC which not many phones except LG V30 & G6 have. Only thing Moto does better is that it offers fast charging which charges it in 1 hr 35 min while mi a1 takes 20 min more & it is on par with A1 is low light photography.

Have an issue with viber on A1. Runs really slow and making a call takes around 10 secs before it reacts to the command. have you had these issues?

You got it wrong! There is no stereo speakers. Only the bottom speaker is used for multimedia playbacks.
Camera problems will be fixed via future updates?

It is possible but Xiaomi wouldn't do it....
OIS is hardware feature so it cannot be updated further. EIS can be , though

Never heard about any manufacturer had enabled EIS through software update. They will hold it for MiA2 may be... but i doubt on EIS update for MiA1. However the software for better image processing can be done through OTA. BTW OIS is a hardware which cannot be upgraded.

I just got my Mi A1 eight days ago and have been witnessing a weird thing about it. When I put my phone on the table or any hard surface (gently) I can hear a rattling noise as if somethng is loose inside my phone. One can hear the same noise comming if I tap the upper part of my phone. Tapping on the lower part doesn't make that noise. The phone's working properly though. I am wondering if I should be visiting the sevice centre or not. I've been through many threads saying that it is the autofocus or few say that it is the OIS(which is not there in MI A1). Please help guys! It's very annoying when you notice it.
Noise comes from camera. Galaxy S5 had the same noise. When u open camera app you won't be able to hear a noise
The rattling noise happened on my galaxy s6 edge plus and it annoyed me also

You should actually test the battery, rather stating it from viewing the spec, because in practice the battery life is not good comparatively on this phone. It does have good aspects too, though, including good quality photos & video. I would have liked for it to have basic apps, such as a notepad, sound recorder, & email, which other phone have.
but me fond of MIUI and hate stock Android's UI but sadly no 5x here😲

Both have almost identical specs but with different results. If you are phone photography person then you should go with Mi A1. But if you like the design in a phone then I'd choose Moto g5s plus because of its diamond cut edges. And frankly speaking that is it, there is no other reason why I'd choose Moto g5s plus over Mi A1. They both do equally good in performance and gaming, the photos come better in Mi A1. It's kind of an obvious choice. Oneplus One is a very old phone, and it has a bigger, more battery draining processor because of it. The A1 will get software support because it's a popular and recent device. Tech has really improved over the years lol
