could play this on repeat all night long... it tells a story that when you listen closely you'll hear small details every time you play it.. awasome🥰
If this is anything to go by the world needs more ambient Americana - incredible tune..
Ambient Canadiana, surely?
@@ferroxglideh5621 I just popped in to mention this. Beat me to it 🌟
Discovered DL in '89 & this is new to me-
My favorite singer, writer

Red dead redemption brought me here. This track is a masterpiece.
Red dead brought you and me here because that's the way it is
Daniel has been a master on the steel, what a growth Rocco made since.. awesome and dedicated
This music creates a bridge to the great beyond.
It’s here.

This is beautiful ear art! Elements of noise in its perfect place, melody in its perfect place. I'm blown away!!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!
Dark and light all in one. Amazing players.
Hauntingly beautiful!
Wordless, wondrous, atmospheric, alluring.
This piece is incredible; I'm a steel player myself and love playing it and people love it when i play this live for them. Thx Daniel for creating it, it's so simple and so perfect and really lovely to play because it really catches an etherial and sombre, dare i say enlightened, mood and head space.
Love the weaping of the slide. Sometimes brings a tear to my eye
I know its a steel guitar so dont correct me
So beautiful, even the techniques are esthetic. Incredible.
The ethereal world of Daniel Lanols! Love it
This is what I imagine some of the music in the directors cut of "All the Pretty Horses"" would sound like. Please, Please release it to us who love your sound.

Absolutely beautiful! It's hard to even think of much music that sounds like this.
feels less like a groove, more like the most sincere persistence. teach us

Hey guys, lovely track. My son, also called Satie, wants to know the reasoning behind the song's title. I'm assuming it's something to do with Erik, but what are you getting at exactly when gave the song that title?
Thanks in advance, mx
Wayne!!
forgive me for my ignorance but what is that "all in one instrument" called? Impressive
Hello. It seems to be a lap steel guitar (left) and a pedal steel guitar (right). But I'm not an expert.
Looks like Rocco Deluca might be playing his custom 8 sting baritone lap steel built by Pavel Maslowiec? Daniel Lanois might be playing a late 60’s - early 70’s Sho-Bud Pro pedal steel?
That is the pedal steel guitar, and it is a very complex and difficult instrument to master, requiring not just both hands, but both feet and also both knees to play a staggering array of pedals. These pedals are not only like piano pedals, but actually control (bend) the pitch of the notes too. Lanois is a master of the instrument, and a master song writer, in my opinion.

What is the instrument the second person is playing?
Rocco is playing a lap steel guitar. Lanois, a pedal steel.
wayne always looks like he's in the middle of doing something super fucking important at all times. what is it he's doing?
lol...he's managing the signal path no doubt. the mixing board would have auxiliary sends that he would mix in that would send the guitar signals to various delays and reverbs (mainly delay).
wayne does stuff !!
Wayne is the MAN behind the sound!
Hey Wayne! Still the same grooving dude I see! Can you believe how fast time flies!
Hey Wayne! You still there?
