For sure, I haven’t got there yet. I’m only on the 9th book.

The first 6 books are peak. The next 5 are struggle. The last 3 are all Sanderson and are peak.

@eligoldman9200 my father read the books when he was younger and he put me off them by saying the quality drops off dramatically in the series. How bad is the drop off?
Can't really go through 5 bad fantasy sized books with all the other content I enjoy.

@@molsy1768honestly the drop off didn’t happen for me until the 9th book. But I listen mostly to audiobooks and listened to some of the books in a day or two. So that can keep my interest.

I feel like the entire series could use a drastic re-editing. As it stands now, the series is unreadable for me. The characters are too cookie cutter to justify having more than 6 books about them.
All inkeepers must be fat, and if a skinny character dares to open an inn, he is automatically untrustworthy, not only from the lead character's personal perspective, but also in the actual instory reality.
All people from any certain nation have to conform to the stereotypes of that nation. If the men from one nation are known for carrying knives, they all must do so, and then the story must remind us that the women from that nation carry even BIGGER knives over and over and over again. America is known for its gun culture, but most people in America probably dont own guns, and the women dont necessarily own bigger guns than the men or vice versa.
There were a few interesting characters early on. Padan Fain comes to mind, but 14 books later, I found myself just waiting for it all to end just so I could resolve all my feelings about it at long last.
I wonder at how much stronger the series could have been in a far more condensed form.
Rand, Matt, and Perrin served a purpose as 3 distinct characters before the end of book 3. Afterwards, reading about all 3 became uninteresting and tedious. They all gain strange powers, they all have troubled relationships with women, but they all overcome insurmountable odds. The end.
I dont need to read that story 3 times in the same series.
That's one character. Condense it into such, and let the characters who have their own unique names have their own unique stories.

I can totally agree. I’m only on book 10 but I think the series is like a 6.5/10 so far. The characters are all caricatures like you said and it gets pretty insane how detailed Jordan gets about that stuff even if it’s unrealistic. I enjoy if for what it is, a flawed story but I’m here for the journey and I’ve enjoyed probably more than half the books so far so I can’t be too upset or disappointed. I totally see where you’re coming from.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.

@@KJWohsBookReviews I actually think the story improves with the last 3 books. Sanderson's influence for those was actually very positive in the character category, so hopefully you enjoy those just as much or maybe even more.

@@StannisHarlockgood:). I’m excited then. If there wasn’t Traveling I think I’d be much more bored but at least I can be entertained by them zipping around. The slog feels more like a lack of major plot points and less like staying in one spot like I’ve heard before. I’ll continue the series soon.
