Who out there has a heat pump system in their home?
About to get a ge system. Curious on how efficient it will be.
@@SuperFS11 Nice, let us know how it goes.
Getting a Bosh 5 ton heat pump tomorrow morning. Live in the Coachella Valley at 113 degrees currently.
@@Therealhomeinspectionauthority not that great. We were told it would be around 1.5kwh but when it ramps up (it’s a variable speed that sounds like an airplane when it’s ramping up!) it can go up to 8kwh! The seller/installer already come over twice to “adjust it” didn’t really change. I think we said 1.5kwh just to bait us or maybe sold us an inferior system. Quite disappointing
@@TonyFernandezjkdjedi Awesome! let us know how it works out good or bad.
In California electric price so expensive, my house in San Jose, CA, tier 1 = $0.53/ kwh, tier 2 is over $0.60. Natural Gas is $2.75/ therm. Heat pump will cost 2.5 to 3 times compare to gas furnace. In summer California can not supply enough electric for home AC, even tell people don't charge they EV. If 50% house in CA change to heat pump what will happen in winter???? Power outrages every where. Thanks Newsom.
Interesting, So you think by going electric with heat pump system in California will create outages throughout the state. How did you come to this conclusion?
@@Therealhomeinspectionauthority I been through many year, In summer hot days if the heat take for longer than 10 days over 100 degree F, in Bay Area power will out in many place. That is a case not all the house have AC and if they have we don't run all day. Heat pump run as AC convert from cold to heat, if all California home run AC all winter season day and night and charge EV. I don't think we have enough electric and the cost of electric will sky rocket.
My question: To create 100,000 BTU heat, 80% Gas furnace with need 1.25 therm. To create 100,000 BTU heat, how many Kwh electric heat pump will use?
note: 1 US therm = 29.3 Kwh
