Very cool looking lid, reminds me a bit of the original Simpson bandit. Used to ride my bike with mine on all the time, blacked out visor white Simpson Bandit, looked so aggressive and cool. It is great to have you back TPO.

Hey man. Happy 4th to ya. Guess what was on my porch about an hour ago??? You guessed it. A brand new Ruroc Atlas 2.0 Crimson helmet. Yup. They delivered it on one of our holidays. I didn't expect it till Monday but there it was. I've been lookin at meself in every sense I got the box open. I must say it sure improved my looks except my "Jay Leno's" cheeks that I get when I put on a full face helmet. O well they said that I will grow into it. Maybe I should shrink into it. Well, just wanted you to know they sold one more to make up for the one you got for free. Enjoy.

I have the ruroc atlas 1.0 version, I bought it in the only black friday deal sale ruroc ever have, I've even got the Sound wave kit fitted. Looks awesome when riding.
The chin strap clamp looks a great idea, much easier than the double D’s, especially if you for get to do the lid up and start riding, you should be able to easily clip it.
Wish i could get that helmet in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. I know it's going to cost a small farm's price here. Only got to see this channel now. Freakin awesome.
Glad to see you back and going full time ! No doubt you will be doing a road test on this helmet, so could you temperately fit the shockwave comms system and test how well it performs please.
That comma system “cartridge “ is a fantastic idea!!! Sena, Cardo, take note... THIS is how you integrate a comms unit. Be good to see if Ruroc go down this route.
Bruce, it's great that you're back and making a go of the channel. Please keep the quality high though. I think that focusing on quantified and qualified information about something like a helmet from a comparatively unknown company would set a high bar. A cursory Internet search doesn't reveal flattering or reassuring feedback about the company or their products. Question 1: Who are Ruroc? Question 2: What are their credentials? Question 3: What certification and safety standards are attained? Question 4: Would *you* buy this with your own money? A lot of what Ruroc is doing doesn't conform to conventional practice (e.g. comms, buckle) and there's no context about why these changes are made, why they're good and what problems are solved. Wishing you lots of success with the channel, and hoping that your reviews are structured and critical with some substance and completeness rather than gushing unboxing reactions to freebies. You only get one head, you have influence. With great power comes great responsibility... welcome back.
Hey Ian I know its late but i saw this and wanted to answer some of your questions, 1) Ruroc is a british company who started off in 2010 and are well known for making snow sports helmets and originally released their first motorcycle helmet early 2019 and 6/7 months later came out with this new and improved version of the atlas. 2) I dont really know 3) they fully meet american DOT certification and euopean ECE 22.05 which does make it allowed on most tracks here in the uk where i am from at least and they have shown new testing to meet the improved 22.06 certification. and 4) yes I have twice, I bought the original atlas and I highsided on a track corner going 90mph plus and it saved my head, and have just recently bought a new 2.0 model so in my opinion they are pretty alright
Honest and frank review as always. No way the beard is going to ever get caught up in a DD ring ever again! Not sure why you would need to use 'screws' to secure a visor in the 21st Century though? It's getting dark, I'll just swop my visor for my clear one....'not on a day ending in a 'Y'.... Looks super cool though.... false N eutral The magnet is just there to help the two parts snap together. It doesn’t actually play any part in holding them together. It’s quite an ingenious system and if you google “fidlock snap helmet buckle” you can find some further info on the technical side of it.
Thanks Dominic, yep the comp finished on Feb 27, but I totally agree, I think they’re the best looking lids going at the mo. They are loud though, you need ear plugs when wearing one at higher speeds 👍

One of the best unboxing's of the Atlas 2.0 I've watched, and I've seen a few now. Style of a Simpson helmet but up todate safety and features. Doesn't seem to be ACU compliant for track use?
I can't see Ruroc manufacturer on the SHARP safety list. Are they under a larger/different company name? I have the ratchet chin strap, so I'm not adverse to change, but that magnetic chin strap would take a leap of faith from me, although I fully appreciate it would have passed the appropriate tests. I have a feeling your vlogs will be coming thick and fast now! 😁👍.
Hi Bruce....Ruroc Atlas 4.0 has just been released and I'm in the process of purchasing one...I've watched all their "How to do Vids" on their web page but no mention of linking the Shockwave system to a Satnav ...They just mention phone and music .....which is putting me off buying the helmet at the moment until a positive answer either from Ruroc or yourself ...Cheers John
Hi John, I never bothered with the shockwave system mate as it’s just Bluetooth, and I have the Cardo Pactalk Bold which is superior in every way, so I just use that for everything 👍

I had one of the first ones (1.0?). Biggest issue I had was the screws that attach the visor work themselves lose the more you lift and lower it. That’s a bad design. But otherwise it’s pretty good and different. Plus the pin lock works a treat.
I have a couple of concerns with the lid. They are new to the motorcycle circuit so I've been dragging my feet with spending that kind of money with them. Some of the issues have been addressed from the 1.0 release and that's a good thing.
The real question with the buckle is.. can you do it up with your gloves on when you've ridden off and realised your forgot to do your helmet up when the strap smacks you in the throat!!!
I think they're a bloody brilliant looking helmet. If I needed a helmet and had more money than I tend to have it'd be top of my list. Even with the fidlock which I'll be honest I don't trust 😂 double d for me :) I'd never get a helmet that didn't have pin lock ever again
Agreed. A couple years back I found a closeout sale (for a dirt cheap price) on a "Cyber" brand helmet with internal sun visor and bought one. I became hooked on the internal visor, and I'll never again consider a helmet without it. I'm currently using a Schuberth C3 I picked up secondhand.
Was hoping to hear how good the bluetooth and speakers performed, no good to me anyway, I need a flip front to avoid the faff of taking helmet off at security at work.
I totally admire your commitment and have enjoyed your vids before, have just subscribed. I hope it all works out well for you and Mrs Teapot. Really hope you don't think I'm being a smart-arse, totally not my intention but can I suggest that you have a look at the shot you are using while sitting at your desk showing us the lid. You've got great leading lines from the shelf and the monitor, directing the viewer to your face, the red lighting is nice and subtle and ties in with your brand and you're well separated from your background but you sit very low relative to the desktop. It makes you look a lot smaller and we can't see your lower arms which feels a little unnatural?. I can see that the desktop is higher than the two desks either side of you? Would you consider lifting your seat a bit, raising the camera position and dropping the desktop an inch or two? I'm sure you've already thought of this but I reckon it would look a lot more natural and give you a bigger presence in the frame? Please forgive me if I'm being impertinent.

I’ve got a new chair and desk coming actually, my current chair is knackered hence why it looks like I’m sitting on the floor! 😂 The desktop is actually just a couple of shelves that I sit across my desk and a side unit, that’s why it’s higher, so sadly I can’t lower it anymore. With the new desk and chair, I’ll be doing an office ‘makeover’ type vid as I’ve also got new lighting etc too. Lots to come bud 👍
Great video. Badass helmet. At “go time”, I’m ordering the Platinum Ronin. I’ve heard the “vents” on top are just cosmetic, and the side vents were closed off to reduce wind noise, leaving only the front vents. Not 100% sure if this is the case.
That lid looks mint. Just got an AGV AX9 Carbon, which I am quite disappointed with. Wind noise is awful and the speakers don’t line up with my ears properly so I can barely hear the comms.
I’ve just treated myself to a new helmet, so won’t be treating myself to this. Nice lid though, I particularly like the fastening system, rather than the double loops.
2 qtns. How does this sit with wearing prescription glasses? And can you have the visor open 5 or 10mm and have it stay there under wind/speed. Second with is vital for me as that's how I ride most of the time so I can breathe in the British rain and stop my specs fogging up. Cheers tp
Sorry Ian I don’t wear specs so can’t comment on your first question bud. You can crack open the visor yes, and I’ve not had it flip open whilst riding - always the opposite, it gets blown shut
You describe the fit as a good fit but can you add specifics? Like your head size in cm and the size of the RuRoc helmet? This would be helpful to me so that I can order the proper one. Thanks
I like it a lot looks good. But all the people say it has a lot of wind noise!! Around a 7 out of 10??? And it’s a bit pricey. I can get a bilt force helmet with less wind drag and noise for $89
Yep that’s my only gripe with this lid, it is noisy. But if you were ear plugs then it’s no problem at all. It’s weird, even with ear plugs I can still hear the Cardo Pactalk Bold a lot better with this lid than I could with my Shori before???? 👍

After watching your review on the Ruroc I was wondering how hard it would be to put the Sena 20s on the side of the helmet and would you think it would be an issue with the emergency pull on the cheek flaps. I was thinking about ordering one of these helmets to replace my Bell that I have now. It is about 6 years old and in need of a replacement. It has fallen off my bike a few times without me in it. LOL

Ha Ha, aye there’s always a drawback to Comms!
I had to use the 3M sticky pad to attach the cardo cradle to the lid as it has a ‘thick rim’ 😳

That lid looks mint. Just got an AGV AX9 Carbon, which I am quite disappointed with. Wind noise is awful and the speakers don’t line up with my ears properly so I can barely hear the comms.
I’ve just treated myself to a new helmet, so won’t be treating myself to this. Nice lid though, I particularly like the fastening system, rather than the double loops.
2 qtns. How does this sit with wearing prescription glasses? And can you have the visor open 5 or 10mm and have it stay there under wind/speed. Second with is vital for me as that's how I ride most of the time so I can breathe in the British rain and stop my specs fogging up. Cheers tp
Sorry Ian I don’t wear specs so can’t comment on your first question bud.
You can crack open the visor yes, and I’ve not had it flip open whilst riding - always the opposite, it gets blown shut
You describe the fit as a good fit but can you add specifics? Like your head size in cm and the size of the RuRoc helmet? This would be helpful to me so that I can order the proper one.

I like it a lot looks good. But all the people say it has a lot of wind noise!! Around a 7 out of 10??? And it’s a bit pricey. I can get a bilt force helmet with less wind drag and noise for $89
Yep that’s my only gripe with this lid, it is noisy. But if you were ear plugs then it’s no problem at all.
It’s weird, even with ear plugs I can still hear the Cardo Pactalk Bold a lot better with this lid than I could with my Shori before???? 👍

Great explanation 👍, may I ask about the fitting, i usually wear size M (head circumference is 57cm) is it an exact fit? or should i go to L size, heard that ruroc atlas runs little small, please assist, thanks 👍

Is it really OK for track use? Didn't seem to have the ACU gold sticker that most tracks in the UK require.

After watching your review on the Ruroc I was wondering how hard it would be to put the Sena 20s on the side of the helmet and would you think it would be an issue with the emergency pull on the cheek flaps. I was thinking about ordering one of these helmets to replace my Bell that I have now. It is about 6 years old and in need of a replacement. It has fallen off my bike a few times without me in it. LOL
