That wasn't my argument for waiting for the Switch 2. My argument on Reddit a few months ago was that Nintendo may offer TC millions to launch Skong on Switch 2 to sell units.

And it’s already been promised on a switch since 2019, as a large portion of hollow knight players are on the switch. Not only do I not see Nintendo making any offerings, but I also don’t see team cherry waiting for switch 2 to launch their game. It’ll probably get ported to it whenever it comes out
@@Primacon I would absolutely buy a Switch 2 if it only had Skong, so would you and everyone watching your channel and you know that. I'd easily pay $200 just for the game itself. There are 3rd party launch titles and they are considered "system sellers." Primarily in-house developers do push hardware for the most part, but developers like Guerilla Games do accept money in return for early development of system selling exclusives at launch; notably the Killzone and Horizon franchises in this example. Nintendo even used an outside studio, Ubisoft, to develop Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. It was promised in 2019 when showcasing the Nintendo demo at E3, I'm not sure that qualifies anymore. All of that being said, the recent activity points to a closer launch than 2025 now, so I no longer believe this to be the case.

we dont even know how the switch 2 is different to the switch, (i think?), it could just be some major hardware upgrades and maybe a few new features that wouldnt affect how games on the switch run on it. the stuff you have on switch could potentially cross over too (than again this is nintendo). i dont even see how they would get them much money, i mean you bought the game once, why buy it again on a newer console, i can see buying it again for pc for modding purposes but not just for a newer version of a console.

It would be Team Cherry fault xd not Nintendo and I also add, it is impossible that it was delayed by switch 2, team cherry has been making silksong on switch and PC for 7 years, because those two were the initial platforms
i think something a lot of people dont get is that silksong isnt being coded "for nintendo switch," its more like they have to adapt the controls to it. Nintendo switch/switch 2 is just a platform that loads these games but it doesnt have a built-in "switch engine" or something. Mario odyssey isnt made in "nintendo switch" its made in unreal engine with a nintendo switch controller for example. The main reason you cant just run a single game on every console is due to licensing stuff, and ofc adapting the controls/game loading/menu page/whatever. Also different disk readers for physical games.

See this is why I prefer to play indie games on pc. There's no drama or freakouts about delays because of upcoming consoles. Also I 100% agree that Team Cherry does not give a damn about the Switch 2. They're just gonna go "Hey guys it's done!" release it to all platforms and then that's gonna be the end of it.
Skong was already presented in a Nintendo event running on current hardware generation. Besides, it's a 2D game that even being graphically awesome It doesn't require the best graphics capabilities from the hardware, which reinforces that current Switch will be able to run the game with good graphics and a decent frame rate. This means that to state that the release date will wait for new big N hardware is just an excuse to confort those that are suffering a lot with the delay in the game, since the rumors say that new Nintendo hardware will arrive only on 2025.
I think if it would release this year it would be in second half because now people wait for Elden Ring DLC which will have more interest than Silksong sadly
I also don't think Team Cherry is delaying the game because of Unity; like remaking the whole game in a different engine. Silksong will sell more than enough to offset the extra cost of using Unity. One thing I don't understand is why Team Cherry didn't upload that 2022 Xbox Silksong trailer on their own CZcams channel
you know what would clear a lot of misinformation and speculation? teamcherry just telling people if they would be any news on the xbox showcase streams, or if they really are waiting to release the game on nintendo switch 2.

ehhh, you're wrong....If you look at the numbers sold between both games, Hollow Knight has more sales than hades...at least on Steam (reviews are a good indication of sales, with a little maths.). And Hade II only has 9k reviews as of right now... Silksong will have more hype around it when it actually has a release date. Also play Nine Sols :D
