- Ella, A Meerkats Tale is a 2008 Oxford Science Film following the events of two year old Ella Pandora. Young Ella faces isolation when she breaks the golden rule in meerkat society; having pups, a right exclusively to Lady Day, Ella's mother. If Ella is to raise her pups and withstand the perils of the Kalahari, she must use all her wit and courage to stand up to her violent mother. Most scenes in the film were either from Meerkat Manor or footage of other mobs.

Nice to see Flower and her family again, I knew there had been other documentaries on The Whiskers family but I had never seen them until today. I knew all of these characters from "Meerket Manor" in 2007.
I recall Zaphod living to 15, spending his last years peacefully with Mabeline. And yes, Mozart’s death was heart wrenching.
And not toe mention Flower
As I remember it Shakespear who was a member of The original Flower/Zaphod troop, disappeared down a hole never to be heard or seen again. I cried for him and Flower, and always to this day wonder what happened to him. I enjoyed immensely the original series. Jesus is Love

@@jacquieedwards8218 He got into a fight with the dominant male of the Lazulai defending Flowers pups. He likely died in the burrow, since not long after Flower made a den move. The one that attacked Shakespear also died later from an illness, possibly an infection after the fight. So Shakespear made the fight an even trade.

Charlie was food for something, and as sad as that is it is the way of life. If the narrators saved charlie, then they stop x predator from feeding their young

I will have to watch Meerkat Manor: Rise Of The Dynasty to see how Sophie, Mitch and Axel have fared, my fav meerkats, after the unfortunate loss of Shakespeare. Mozart's death was heart wrenching.
Without making to sad, every single meerkat from that time period has passed on now. Meerkats don't live long, and Zaphod is the oldest known living meerkat at age 12 and died in 2011 from old age. So there won't be a single meerkat like Sophie, mitch etc alive from that time anymore. Plus you can look up the meerkat Manor wikia to find out about each meerkat and their story.

I was upset that Motart the 'caring one' had such a hard life, she later became the wayward one but she seemed caring to me, always nursing flowers pups. I missed Shakespeare when he just dissapeared. He was a great meercat. I need a therapist after watching them all live and die!

I love these. I just hurt when a baby dies or the mom doesn't want them any more. So sweet and so sad at the same time.
I grew up watching MM and loved it. I always thought the drama was real until I matured and realized that the producers would edit footage and re-use a ton of it to make a fictional story for each episode. And not only that but many "characters" were played by different 'kats (Carlos for example)
Still love the show though.
I agree to a certain extent but I don't think it was necessary to make up a fictional story for every episode. The animals provide their own story and drama. If you don't think so, watch the Dynasties series sometime. I can't imagine trying to find footage to fit a story and keep everything consistent with ages, the time of the year, etc. That would be a nightmare for the producers.

You are 100% correct and it is all about $$$ look when the video was dropped during COVID. It makes you wonder how much of any of it was real. Go watch some ZeFrank videos all the knowledge with nonstop laughter. I wrote a rant discussing this "Don'tget involved" effects this has on people regarding the slow agonizing bri=utal deaths they watched for hours doing NOTHING then claim its nature & they can't get involved yet in the start of the video they say how they interacted with this troop daily, see how the lies are on display

Doesn't seem to be the case.
Exactly it makes you think how much of what we see is even real! I wrote a whole long rant about the lies surrounding these documentaries & how it affects us as a culture, I highly doubt people will even read it.
@@Alethiometer No, Meerkat Manor was pretty matter of fact. If a Meerkat died irl, then the meerkat died in the show, because the show directly worked with the Kalahri Meerkat Project and Cambridge who ran the whole study. When you see Shakespear get bit by a snake, what you see is what actually happened. Fiber optic cameras were drilled into the burrows and cameras filmed the area 24/7

I used to watch Meeerkat Manor. Flower actually gave her life protecting her family from a snake in the den. I was heartbroken. Ella has become a strong leader. She will have to do the same as her mother did, kick out other females and males when their time comes. 😔 The great circle of life played out before our eyes. 😎

It was a real shame to see Charlie die at such a young age and Janga and Max get separated from Ella. I didn't like Flower tbh. Hopefully Ella can start a new family with Carlos and hopefully her other sisters. Maybe even Daisy will join soon lol with her new mate :)
The producers that were filming this were absolute bastards for not saving Charlie, the baby. They are exploiting this meerkat family for profit, and they can’t do the decent thing by returning a baby to them that is dying overnight? This is the kind of shit that makes me hate on my own species. We are supposed to be stewards of this planet.

Cheers for the update guys. Me and my misses have just finished the final episode. We came across it recently and we have been glued to it. Gutted it ended as I would of loved more episodes.
Anyway just wanted to try and find out some sort of information on what happened next as we both loved Sophie and mitch also rocketdog Wilson. Just gutted that the series ended in 09 and I never got to see how they all got on in the end.

It is very sad to see that animal rivalries are just like human conflicts. At least, Ella found true love with Carlos. Shame on Flower, Max, and Django! I can't believe that this is like a Shakespearian Tragedy.😠

Meerkat 1198 I’m glad there starting the series up in 2021, although it’s not the main family, apparently it’s a family of meerkats near the old manor, with decedents from whiskers, which I’m happy about.

That was the saddest episode and I really missed Flower. I really liked Mozart and was hoping she could find another group and have pups!! She had the worst luck always!!

Idk what episode it was or anything, so when their series ended I never saw it again an I was very sad, bcuz I had really gotten attached to it. Only now am I finding out what happened. Why did their names get changed? They could have gone on with the same names so we would be able to follow them an see how Flowers kids ended up. Thank u for that knowledge I had no idea!! I had the gut feeling it had to be the ladies man Carlos!! The little devil followed the lonely Ella. There were so many tense moments. My heart broke for what Ella had to go through. Is Ella and Mozart the same female?? Mozart nursed and babysat Flower's babes!
Mozart was one of Ella's understudies. The character of Ella was mostly played by Mozart's older sister Baddiel (also known as Tosca).
