The Spy Creatures are on another extraordinary mission as they discover how friendships are a vital part of animal societies. Spy Wolf Cub joins a pack of arctic wolves, where a real cub's survival depends on friendships in one of the harshest environments in the world. A walking and swimming Spy Crocodile finds the nest site of a real crocodile and reveals the extraordinary relationship they have with the tiny dikkop bird, who will not only stand up to the crocodile but joins them in a neighbourhood watch scheme against marauding monitor lizards. Spy Rattlesnake helps uncover the mysteries of prairie dogs - who have the most extraordinary and complex language in the animal world. In the colony, Spy Prairie Dog finds the cutest owls on earth and we learn how they rely upon each other for protection against coyotes.

I hope this did not cause sad complications in the way they reacted to an actual snake out to eat them.
If it happened regularly it might but if it only happened a few times it is unlikely to change instinct... even if the snake was left there till the next day I doubt the Meerkats would react as though it were fake.

Meerkats play fight to learn hunting and fighting behaviors. If anything, this was a good training situation. They got to practice all the right behaviors with none of the risk. Some may be more confident in the future, but that’s easily balanced out by the increase in experience (especially the younger ones getting drilled on mob behaviors).
@Alexei Stepanov I was describing how the snake was fake and therefore harmless, so they were able to practice fighting and mobbing with zero risk from the ‘snake’.
I think they thought the snake was sick or dieing because it barley moved and seemed sleepy😅😅
Moral of the sorry, just pretend that you're harmless for long enough and you can gain everyone's trust.

The fake meerkat looked almost as cute as the real ones, except it couldn't do the cute things real meerkats do.
I wish they still aired Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet. Aside from being downright adorable, they have really fascinating family dynamics, and the stories of their day-to-day lives are genuinely more dramatic and entertaining than most soap operas and sitcoms.
