- Battlefield 1 is one of the best video games ever made based on World War 1 with game maps representing real world settings. Enjoy this Battlefield 1 road trip through northern France at Château de Chantilly (Ballroom Blitz), Amiens, St-Quentin, the Somme 1916 Museum and the Museum of the Great War, the best WW1 museum in Europe.

One of the best pocket camera's I've ever used
My friends and I have been avid Battlefield 1 players for the past 3 years and this video is a tribute to a video game that delivered us so much fun. Leave a comment if you support a part 2 at Monte Grappa, Empire's Edge and Argonne Forest.
World War 1 was one of the most horrific events in human history, more than 60 million soldiers fought in "the war to end all wars", it ended nothing, yet it changed the world forever. This road trip was one of the most unique experiences in my life, since I learned so much playing the Battlefield 1 video game and to see everything in real life was quite eye-opening. Battlefield 1 is the fifteenth installment in the Battlefield series made by EA DICE, a Swedish game developer, selling over 15 million copies. The best part, the multiplayer battles of 2 opposing teams with a total of 64 simultaneous players fighting over control.
I can highly recommend you take this trip, especially now during the pandemic since you can easily do this road trip by yourself while social distancing, allowing you to explore every World War 1 sight.
The Somme 1916 Museum even had a horse statue complete with weaponry at the entrance, exactly as portrayed in the Battlefield 1 video game. The highlight of this road trip was Ballroom Blitz (Château de Chantilly) one of the most beautiful castles I've ever seen. Funny fact, this castle was also featured in the James Bond Movie: A View to A Kill (1985), just a 40-minute drive north of Paris.
The devastating nature of this terrible conflict was witnessed throughout the war along the Western Front, with huge armies dug into the muddy fields of France and set-piece advances involving hundreds of thousands of men bringing huge loss of life, often for little gain. Today, visitors to the French World War One battlefields can experience recreations in museums, explore the surviving trench works and visit memorials and cemeteries to those who died.
It took me hours to find the most resembling street to the Battlefield 1 map of Amiens; Rue de la Dodane near the Quartier Saint-Leu in Amiens. The Notre-Dame cathedral of Amiens was absolutely the highlight in Amiens, kept in pristine condition and luckily survived both world wars without damage.
My video is solely based on the Battlefield 1 video game and isn’t meant as a World War 1 history documentation. This is my first 4K video on CZcams and serves as an example of what is yet to come on the Reformatt Show. In addition to this article, also check out the incredible Netflix series: Age of Tanks, which features all the Battlefield 1 tanks and how they were used in the First World War.
I consider this road trip a pilgrimage for any Battlefield 1 lover. I played Battlefield 1 with my friends every Friday night for the past 3 years. I am considering organizing a Airbnb Experience, once a year in northern France, this will allow you to join my private organized tour group for 2 days through the Battlefield 1 real life maps. If you are interested, reply to the CZcams video in the comments section.
Do you support a part 2? If so, which BF1 map is your favorite and which map you'd like to see in part 2?
DISCLAIMER: this video was recorded before the pandemic. Also, recorded on the OSMO Pocket 4K @ 60 fps amzn.to/2E7WSjV

this video is amazing!
Thanks. Do you think it is worthy of a part 2?
@@Reformatt yes plssss
Love that
This is the best youtube video i have ever watched
I feel humbled 😉👍
I just saw the new grey man movie on Netflix. At some point there is this castle which I thought I had seen before. I went straight on google to find out whether I was right and yeah turns out the movie is partly filmed at Château de Chantilly. I really am kinda sentimental right now. Reminded me of the good old times, oh man how I miss them. BF1 is probably the best Battlefield game ever, sadly EA DICE did not follow that course in their latest creations.
I concur, Dice should create Battlefield 1: frontlines or something, using the same fun engine
Awesome video👌👌
thank you. would you like to see a PART 2?
Amazing video, respect 👌
And respect for my fav car :D
It would be epic to see the sinai desert in Real life, it's placed in today's Jordan
Cheers from Arras, about 40 minutes from Albert! I'm currently working at a few of the Canadian battlefield sites in northern France, and am finally getting down to Chateau de Chantilly and Amiens this weekend.
Verdun, the Argonne Forest and Fort de Vaux are also on my list of Battlefield 1 ventures if I have time, along with the more obscure Le Cateau-Wassigny Railway ("Giant's Shadow"), La Malmaison and Soupir ("Nivelle Nights") and Butte-de-Tahure ("Prise de Tahure"). I was also able to puzzle through the vague progression of the "Through Mud and Blood" war story with the help of some archival maps, so Cambrai and Bourlon Wood might be squeezed in there somewhere. It's certainly a good excuse to go exploring along the old western front.
Wow thank you for the tips! Perhaps I'll do a part 2 someday 😊
Cool
This video deserve at least a million views
yes! let's get this video to 1M views
Bro I I litterally just redownloaded this game like 2 days ago I didnt realize that the places were modeled off of real places in france I figured they were but the detail is stunning would love to go there
I highly recommend it. Worth every penny
I wish someday you can do second part, Regards from Spain my friend ! 🫡👍
Great video! I would recommend you to go visit Verdun next time. The "Memorial de Verdun" is a great museum, especially due to its atmosphere. Low lights, reproduction of trench mud under glass on part of the floor, huge screen with original combat footage. It's really trying to bring you back there, not just show you items (which they have tons of, and very well displayed).
Fort Douaumont has clearly inspired devs for both Verdun maps. In the souvenir shop, right above the entrance door, you can read these haunting words: "S'ensevelir sous les ruines du fort plutôt que de se rendre" - Bury ourselves under the ruins of the fort rather than surrender.
Cheers from France :-)
Absolutely that is my plan in the future to make a part 2. Would you be interested?
Hey Matt A lot of fun on your trip, I love you, but I really like your mom ... As lively and fun as you are !! 🤣😍😍

yes we need part 2@@Reformatt
@@7md_IRQ I should start a patreon bucket for that episode perhaps
was the st charmond welded shut or was it not allowed to look inside?
Nah im a battlefield 1 and 5 fan and im not gonna lie , these are very fun games, they are both historically accurate in terms of what they show, like weapons, tanks, planes, machine guns, artillery and behemoths, some of the elites, melee weapons as well, but the way that these 2 games are represented can be inaccurate for example bf1 shows an mp18 for the assault which is true , it is a real gun, it also fits in well with the german assault soldier or stormtrooper because they did use it in ww1 and their helmets were cool but in the game its represented as having a bayonet, that isnt true, so thats what im trying to say but bf1 and 5 also helped me in school not gonna lie, especially with the bf1 codex( historically accurate information) on all achievements , which i respect a lot, and dice did a good job and put a lot of effort into it. when i learnt about ww2 and ww1 , i used these games to my advantage and i knew a lot more knowledge compared to my classmates who wouldnt know anything legit, except revise the work what our teachers taught us. Pls do another vid on these or if u want i dont mind battlefield 2042
you can also go to the US national ww1 museum in Kansas City Missouri
Wowww I will add that to my bucket list
battlefield 1 museum looks sick bruh
Dude it's the best. You should go visit it.
I can’t wait to go to France one day.
worth it 100%, it is a beautiful country
How much did this trip cost roughly? Would love to do it
Without flight.
Maybe $100 USD for a one night hotel stay but you can find cheaper ones like $50 at hostels in the area.
Car rental perhaps $60 USD per day
Entrance to the museums isn't much like $5 to $10 USD each
You can do this whole trip in 2 days
Part2 plz
It is pricey. Shall I start a kick starter?
Please do a part 2
Which map would you like to see in part 2?
Reformatt Show I have never played battlefield 1 any map is good
Omg it's same in bf1 please part 2
BF 1 is so well done, after Covid consider a bf1 roadtrip as well 😉
Which BF1 map is your favorite?
@@Reformatt absolutely amiens and fort de vaux
@@Reformatt but ball room is beautiful
@@Reformatt i hope next video you going to fort de vaux

Ik ga het overwegen
I love battlefield 1 best game
it is!! what is your favorite map?
Reformatt Show amien,All cards are the best Atmospheric about the first world war I love bf1
Hi! Big battlefield 1 fun here.
If you guys watch “The lost history of the flat earth” chapter 3 (with an open mind ) you will see the real purpose of Castles like Ballroom Blitz and the Cathedrals, which make a lot more sense than the history we’ve been told that those impossible to repeat structures where just made for living or praying… you will be mind blown!!! CATHEDRAL=CATHODE 🤯
C'mon really? There are so many palaces and we have the blueprints
0:48 mini hogwarts
isn't it amazing!!
✌️👌
thank you!
Lol 5 1/2hrs. Takes me 40hrs to drive to my fathers
40 hrs?! That is insane. How often you do that?
Imagine living a town thats the basic of a map in BF1 and playing it
haha, it some point you may forget the difference between the game and real-life.... that is SCARY!!
Good video...your mom is gorgeous.
my mom ROCKS!!
You're dutch?
Yes sir, born and raised but living in Toronto for the past 15 years.
No one gave me a epilepsy warning!
