Sir, Indian 2 will have different story and different plot than the first part. In starting only it's shown 1996 - 2023. So, I think that's why music is chosen according to the time. In Indian 2 those type of songs will not be suitable because it's a complete different story and now time has also changed. Anirudh is not bad. Shankar must have thought something before taking this decision. Please wait for the movie and don't be so negative before even release and enjoy the change of first time Shankar-Anirudh combo. Let's see How it does. It's not that bad.

But still, music is just a part of the whole movie. I know, for commercial movie, Taking care of songs and music is very important but there are lots of other aspects too. And in case of Indian 2, it's just an intro. How can they judge, just by this ?? If they start comparing everytime then everything will look bad only. In Indian 1 during the climax scene Indian tata told tht while kissing is son Sundar in his childhood tht his moustache would pok him so only he shaved his moustache. Just my opinion. The original one looked like a classic in every way. This one looks more like a commercial pot boiler. This music helps us realise that ARR is a maestro and his works are unmatchable. At the time when Indian was released there were very few movies that had tried to expose corruption, but since then every actor tries to portray himself as an anti corruption warrior in his movies, so this second part is just another movie of that genre. Lets hope it doesn’t disappoint us as much as I think it would.

Shankar is giving a marvel like treatment to a batman-esque vigilante type movie or a sivaji like treatment to Indian. Your point about corruption is bang on. It is like a namuthu pona concept. I watched this in theaters.... Arr bgm was at another level.. It was as good as Hollywood movie.. Even as a kid I could make out the quality... I watched Indian in 1996 when I was a school student and was left gasping for breath. Stunning acting, stunning cast, stunning music, stunning direction and most of all, stunning screenplay. Nedumudi Venu was outstanding. For people like me, who have watched the original Indian, it has set such a high bar that anything now feels so underwhelming. Technology is one aspect of it only. Always, always, screenplay is king. I hope Indian 2 can live up to the expectations of its predecessor.
