- Here's what I call the 'Collector Collection' hehe :D
I wanted to make a compilation gathering ALL lines from Collie EVER, and since no one else seems to have done so after WAD yet (as of the date im posting, at least), I decided to get to it!
For now and until the end of time, I will be proud to serve as The Collector's defence lawyer (LMAO). This one's for all my fellow Collie fans!!!! It's been a good run, and if it's any consolation, we can all look up at the stars and think of them if we miss them! Im so proud of him :,)

I just realized the Collector initial world view “people are just toys that you can fix when they break” is literally what Belos does to the Hunter clones.
Yikes... That's honestly true as to Bello's they were just wooden toys ment to replace his lost bother that he... 'breaks' when they finally act like an individual and the collector for hundreds of years could literally only see that.
I was thinking the same thing. He learned to view people because of how Belos viewed the grimwalkers. He really is just another victim of Belos.
And for they the Titans only we're capture. (Also the Titans are semi-inmortal begins)
You’re… actually right. The grimwalkers were basically living wooden puppets that “broke” when they stepped out of line and simply were just rebuilt again. Not to mention he saw this for… 300, 400 years? Ow.
Wow now that you mention that I makes sense. He started killing one after the next making them perfect but surprise surprise they turned on him
I think the best part about the Collector is the fact that even when he's "evil" you can see traces of that kid we see later. His fear of being left alone, his theatrics, his eagerness to play. It's just that spending so much time around Belos basically twisted his personality into something much darker.
Right? He's clearly not evil, he's a kid with a massive amount of power that doesn't understand how mortals work. Poor guy's been alone for lord knows how long and suffered immense trauma watching his friends get taken from him. He really did just need someone to talk to and understand him.
I actually saw a rather interesting video that explains that why the shadow collector comes across as more evil partly because he’s playing a role to try and be in the good graces of belos and the style of his shadow form allows him to see large them life

Honestly, I always thought there was something weird about him. He seemed more childish than actually manipulative. So I was pretty happy to see that he wasn’t evil in the end. Just misguided and lonely
He was also probably acting like Belos to keep Belos from discarding him making Belos’ interests like the draining spell his own so his new “friend” would like him. He was essentially playing pretend even if he didn’t realize it.
i cant get over how he calls them "ray-ray" 😭😭😭 i wish we had scenes of the collector and non-possessed raine interacting, i feel like they'd get along. raine is 100% good w/ kids and you can't convince me otherwise

its so extremely 🥺🥺 especially because hes extremely powerful, and i doubt her beast form could even scratch him. but she tells him to get back just in case because no matter how powerful he is, he is a confused child and she doesnt want anymore kids getting hurt
I could write an essay about that line, honestly. It's an example of metacommunication of someone's current state and it's just-- it's something no one teaches you to do in real life, yet it's such a powerful tool for many people dealing with mental health crises or very strong emotions: being able to take a step back while feeling overwhelmed to convey "I am not in any shape to have any pertinent interaction with you right now, please let me have a breakdown on my own and come back once I'm settled because I don't want to hurt you in the meantime". And of course it's Eda who says it - her curse has always been some sort of metaphor for a similar situation and I just felt so... seen! hearing her having this exact method of crisis management. I really really love that line - and Eda's care through it, and the writers' obvious care about that, too.

The line "I don't want anyone else to go missing" breaks my heart, I have a feeling that them saying "anyone else" was referring to the baby titans he'd play with that would be bumped off by his siblings. Poor little guy...
you can tell he's been through so much IT BREAKS MY HEART :,,, ESPECIALLY when i think about how heartbroken him and the other baby titans mustve been back then when they noticed titans beginning to go missing..

The fact that he thinks the other baby Titans went missing instead of killed by his siblings is so sad.
I thought he meant anyone else because Luz. (Probably in their subconscient, he knew the titans dissapeared dissapeared)

They referred to luz’s death as her going “missing” and I think that compared to when they talk about their siblings tricking them into revealing where all the titan babies were and how all the babies went missing means they also might’ve witnessed their siblings kill the baby titans?

It only took the finale to confirm why The Collector became my favorite character, and I hate Disney for cancelling the show so soon.
It is worth noting, even without the cancellation, we likely wouldnt have had much more of the collector specifically. The third season was already planned to be the final season, they just had a lot less run time to work with within that than they had expected. Most of what got cut was crammed into montages, specifically, the vast majority of cut content, was various shenanigans episodes that were going to be in the early season of the cast doin stuff in the human realm and whatnot.

I keep hearing from some sources that the Collector wouldn’t even exist if the story wasn’t cut short. Don’t know if that’s true but if it is then I’m not sure anymore if I do want a full uncut version of the Owl House if this adorable chaotic little bean wasn’t in it. I really wish they would allow a fourth season after Watching and Dreaming, because I really do love the story we got already. I just want it to continue as is, instead of wishing things had gone to original plan. 😢
@@tiagoprieto7072 You have to admit that even with the cut content, Dana and her crew managed to create an awesome, solid finale even if there are many interactions we missed and a few unanswered questions. I don't know if what you say is true, but cut series or not, I'm glad we got a character as precious and awesome as The Collector.

Also him calling the mortals "Itty Bitty Spiders" was the cutest thing ever XD
Honestly, all he wants is someone to play with him so he’s not alone, but he doesn’t understand that a friend isn’t something you can force, and that death was a thing to mortals, which makes sense considering he’s been alone for centuries and is immortal, but he’s just a little kid at the end of the day, a kid with godlike powers but still a kid

Honestly the Collectors redemption in the finale is what White Diamonds probably should’ve been. Like I know it was kinda abrupt but the Collector is literally just a child who doesn’t understand the concept of death, pain, and empathy

Both went through the same thing, their world views were based on how they saw it for thousands of years and were shattered so easily by the existence of one person or thing. Both were abrupt because of how fragile those world views were (and corporations being the worst fucking shit and cancelling shows earlier than they should’ve)

A thought has just occurred to me that the person who initially trapped the owl beast and turned it into the curse scroll that lilith used to curse eda wasn't the collector, but an archivist, which explains them being so tall, and free even though the titan was dead at that point
Deffo 100% not our Collector indeed since they're so tall, seem like they're actually evil. Our Collector should've been trappdd at that time because all creatures came from the Titans body and that would also include the owl beast, and if other creatures existed that would mean all Titans (Except King) and Papa Titan was still alive when trapping our Collector. Yet it is weird how they sounded the same as our Collector, they may have been the grand huntsman the titan trappers were talking about. Its also sad how they didn't care for searching for their younger sibling
I liked in the ending when the collecter was showing amity the toy king gave him. Amity is good with young kids like the collecter because she works at a library and reads to them. I think they would get along well

The Collector was definitely there to witness it multiple times.
So basically it went from "you caught me" to "watch your step" it really goes to show how much the collector improved throughout the show

Honestly his story really sucks. His older siblings sent him away, and when he finally found people that welcomed him, they took those friends away all because of their power, and just let him be blamed for their actions. Didn’t even TRY to intervene when Papa Titan sealed him away.

So he is called the "collector" and his siblings are the "archivists" I wonder if he was supposed to find things for the archivists to store away like museum artifacts and the titans are still alive somewhere, being kept by the archivists.
That would be such a cool plot twist. Basically a Sequel for Owl House.

They're probably all the same, maybe "The Collector" is just a title given by mortals or everyone from their species has a title-like name. Maybe their abilities/specialties are a bit different. The Collector kinda just collected everyone on the Isles by turning them into puppetd and that one tall archivist (they can't possibly be our Collector despite their voice, ours is trapped at that time) thats sealed up the Owl Beast in a scroll. We also heard that story in their book, maybe archivists are just older collectors or maybe just the siblings of the Collector having a job that has to do with archiving. They're probably supposed to collect things all of the universe to make sure they aren't forgotten by "sealing them up so they may never fade". We soooooooo need a spin-off cuz we don't know enough about their lore at all

The Collector went from a naughty child to a misguided lonely child that seemed misunderstood over the course of their limited screen time in season 2 and the season 3 specials. It seemed like the Collector represented a type of foil for Luz that could be redeemed, unlike Belos aka Philip. I am honestly glad that the Collector learned from their mistakes, tried to make things right, and even truly became friends with King in the end, along with the other characters of the owl house.
Y’know, I’m kinda upset we didn’t really get to see them in the time skip at all.

when I first saw it it immediately reminded me of one of those "scream and disappear" memes
watching them and all they're lines you kind of notice how at the start they were almost going insane but later on when they got more interaction with others they got over that. poor lil guy, they just wanted friends but were bad at showing that because the only person they thought was friends with them for hundreds of years betrayed them
i noticed that as well. i think when people talk about how different the collector is after being freed they fail to consider how ecstatic he is to finally be free. its no wonder he got nicer and more reasonable. they were low key starting to lose it a little.

When the collector was introduced I was like what the titan is this? But when we saw more from the collector I think he's one of the most well written characters. He actually acts like a child should act, which is rare in the cartoon and anime franchise and also his character development is amazing. What a perfect addition to a perfect show.
From the moment he came out of the mirror, I could tell the Collector was just an innocent kid who didn't understand that his powers were dangerous and didn't have a grasp on solid morals. He's just doing what any kid with such powers would do.

Everytime I see The Collector on screen he/them always puts a smile on my face and I cried so much when they start crying it makes me wanna hug him/them so much but I'm very happy that they're redeemed and safe and also living the stars so whatever I feel lonely or sad I can always look up in the stars and remember his/their smiling face to cheer me up.
I'm gonna miss The Collector and The Owl House so much but I'll forever hold them in a special place in my heart and mind.

My name would be Moonflower, and I would be a twin sister of the Collector. I would be in that prison with him, waiting for someone to release us, and we would play all day!
If I understood correctly that video explaining the Archivists' backstory, it seems they are born each time all planets of a solar system inhabited by magic creatures are perfectly alligned, probably resulting in the creation of a draining spell that gives an antropophormic form to said drained magic.
My theory as to how the Titans countered the Archivists' magic, was because the Titans must have been the only magic species so far who never sought to control and organize magic, becoming the natural opposites of the Collectors, who were born from species who feared their own power.

The fact that watching and dreaming is 55 minutes and the collector only gets 5 minutes in that episode to speak is sad.

Yeah, with an episode of when the archivists told him to go and play with the titans, and then took the baby titans, and left the collector to get imprisoned in that moon disk or whatever it was that Belos found.
At the end the collector is not a bad guy. He is just misguided and lonely. Like Discord from My little pony friendship is magic. If you haven’t seen that show yet then you should give it a chance. It’s just as great as the owl house.

@@venti726 I know right? Don’t you think that Discord along with his best friend and wife Fluttershy would make the best parents for the collector? I mean Eda and Camila are great moms. There’s no argument about that. But I believe Fluttershy and Discord could help the collector grow up. Discord could teach him when and how chaos magic is needed. And Fluttershy could teach him more about friendship and how it is the greatest magic of all. So let’s just think about that.

i understand that when he was trapped with only belos as his ‘friend’ he took on some of belos’ darker tendancies, and when he was with king, he played more ‘happy’ and ‘fun’ games and had a completely different attitude.
still- i kind of wish season 3 had more time to flourish. i would have loved to see more of the chaotic anarchist kid- because he seemed really intimidating and awesome, tbh.

Look, I love The Collector, we must protect him at all costs…BUT rewatching the earlier clips of him, I kinda feel like we missed out on a pretty cool villain.
A chaotic star child with a warped sinister side, it would have been really cool to see King progressively make the Collector see his wrong doings, but instead we went from sinister and sadistic god immediately to “UnU Please don’t leave me alone”. It was kinda a shame…
But he's always been afraid of being alone. When King sees him in his dreams, the Collector's like "I won't be alone anymore!" and then he begs King to stay, because he's desperate for company

The collector is the cutest kid I ever see he just don’t want to be. Lonely
It seems he is a character that takes on multiple roles over the years. Something he learned from his siblings the Archivist.
With Belos he acts as a villain, with King he's a child. The child's version is like his true self. As he likes Titans, despite the Titan Trappers' goals and methods.
Making me think one of his siblings, the Archivist, is the one who took the role of the Grand Huntsman and created the Titan Trappers. Possibly the Archivist who trapped the Owl Beast, as Collector didn't even recognize it in Eda. Thinking she and the Owl Beast was a new friend to play with.
As I think the Collector and Archivist are similar due to their voice but their personality is quite different. Where Archivists are probably a harsher version of the Collector and would destroy Titans if they saw one. Making Collector separate from the others. As Collector would turn things into puppets instead of annihilating them like his siblings the Archivist.
This would explain why Collector said the Titan Trappers acted weird when they saw him. As Collector is different from his siblings. Also turning Bill and the trappers into puppets, if they were active they would have hurt King. In a way, Collector may have protected him from that. That is until Belos had Collector use them to torture King in a Nightmare.
Just theories to consider. Thanks to anyone who reads this.

He had a bad ending. He is not mature enough to go off on his own. I don't think he fully understands everything Luz taught him, so he should have stayed with the owl family and have proper guidance from adults. Leaving the only people who love you is just so sad, pointless and out of character.
No one even tried to convince him to stay, like Camila did to Luz. Am I the only one who finds it super messed up?
tbh, i do find that the idea of him going off into space all by himself is...terrifying. I don't really think he's ready either, given that he went all alone. I wish he would've stayed! i totally see why they took the direction they did, but damn if it didnt bum me out massively. was really hoping that one of the adults would take on the role as their mentor figure :((

@@gianimations2 i think the reason he did that is because honestly, he cant really ever assimilate with mortals, you know?? like, even if eda or someone else wanted to act as their mentor figure, there would still end up being a disconnect. not to mention everyone around them would be aging ridiculously faster than him. at the end of the day he is sort of. an immortal space god. and yeah, i guess king is also a god in a way but its a different level, you know?? and who knows, maybe theres other entities up in space as well other than just the archivists. we know like.... very very very little about the demon realm universe beyond the planet theyre on. we know from a small dialogue exchange between gus and hunter that yes, space and the universe in the demon realm is very likely just as massive and infinite as in the human realm. i think the point is that he now has the freedom and the option to interact with people, and seems to be able to communicate with everyone on the ground anyways !! not to mention its the collector's voice that said "welcome to the boiling isles" and the end sequence when the door opened (i think). so i think the little guy's doing alright.
@@penntopaper9305 While Collie staying and being ''raised'' by someone like Eda, who is doomed to die before him, it is natural, that children outlives their parents. Besides, He and king would remain friends and help each other through the loss of their family. And of course he shouldn't stay in the demon realm forever, but he is not ready to go off on his own yet because He doesn't know much about mortals or living for that matter. Also, the Boiling isles would be better off if he stayed and fixed his mess.
Also ''I raised one god, I can raise another.'' would be the BEST Eda quote.

The reason he was a “villain” was because it was all make believe, he was pretending cus he didn’t want Belos to betray him like everyone else did ( which happened anyways.) he was and is a child, I’m not a collector simp but I understand his change in development of character, it was all a game for him.
