    I don't really understand the people who say this is over priced. It is ridiculously powerful in a small package. If you want a portable gaming/workstation whatever laptop then this is the best choice but it is pricy.

    $2700 for the 512GB model? With that much money I could buy all 3 next gen consoles and build a gaming rig to knock the socks off of this thing.

      this laptop is mostly about the portability and the insane power that comes along with it, not to mention the insane display. is it worth the 2700$? thats up to you

      Pewpy Ninja Desktops are great and all but if you're on the move alot or just like bringing your laptop with you everywhere you go then yes its worth getting a gaming laptop for Gaming on the move. just buy a gaming mouse and headphones and you're set :)
      I'm looking for a really really good gaming Laptop but I'm looking for $2000,00 or less, no more than 2 grand. But then again I don't need one now so I have time to save up for it and by the time I save up for it the price will go down for it below $2000,00 and that will actually be a good deal to me, maybe not to PC Gamers that mainly game on PC but for me its worth it, I do everything with my laptop and more power means it'll be faster and smoother and better :)

    • @HikariSakai
      @HikariSakai Před 10 lety

      ***** I have an HP Pavillion dv6, I can play most 2011-2012 retail games at a good framerate (30 FPS) on medium to low settings but when it comes to next gen games I don't think I can play any of them at this point, I think I'd be able to but it will run at an unplayable framerate and thats no fun. But it can still play alot of great games, the newest game I have on PC is The Walking Dead Season 2 which obviously doesn't require much power but thats that. But if I could maybe get a new Razor Laptop then I'm sure I'd be able to play next gen games at 30 FPS on medium-high settings for sure :)

YOU DONT KNOW THIS PERSON'S LIFE so don't make stupid assumptions like "ur parents must be rich". their parents could be dead for all we know. so please think before commenting.

    Chase - The screen will scale perfectly to 1600x900 without interpolation b.s., due to it being a 4:1 scale/exactly half of the native res. 870m at 900p? Awesome performance.

    @jasonma8984 Před 10 lety +1

    I want to also add another comment after reading some of the comments on this video.
    Why are people comparing this laptop to a gaming rig? Seriously? Laptops will always cost more than a desktop. You can basically spend $700 on a desktop and the specs will be better than a laptop worth more than $800+.
    A laptop is always more expensive than a desktop, period. The materials that goes into making a thin laptop that holds this much power will cost money. There isn't one laptop out there that cost less and its faster than a desktop.
    But is the Razer Blade 2014 expensive? Yes. Is it overpriced? Maybe. MSI GS70 Stealth Pro carries the same GTX 870M, however it also carries a faster processor, more ram and SDD + HDD. And, this cost $1.8K, which I think is a reasonable price. Now, you have to ask yourself: "is the extra $400 dollars worth it" for the Razer Blade 2014. You do get a better resolution, touchscreen, lighter weight, and its thinner.

    • @XeroJin84
      @XeroJin84 Před 10 lety

      Yeah, I realized that the majority that compares the two are either kids or idiots.
      They just think it's "cool" and get upset because they either can't afford it or have no idea what the purpose of a laptop is (they think a laptop is a desktop replacement) - so they rant about how they can spend less money for a gaming desktop to make them feel better. Most of them don't know how cumbersome carrying a laptop is. They probably don't understand why people want Ultrabooks as well.
      They don't understand that not everyone wants to same thing as they do either because their full of themselves.

    • @jasonma8984
      @jasonma8984 Před 10 lety

      Xero Jin Yeah. Most don't understand. Like you said, its not a replacement. A laptop can't replacement a desktop. A desktop will always be more powerful in terms of specs and will hold a better gaming experience, in my opinion. And, a laptop will always offer you the power of having a near desktop experience but portable.
      A lot of people think its either desktop gaming rig or gaming laptop. There are a lot of people that travel or go to school. They will probably purchase both. They can buy a $1.5K gaming rig, which will be able run ALL games currently and future games at MAX settings. A $1.5K rig can get you a good i7, 16GB ram, and a really good GPU. Then spend another $1.5K to purchase a gaming laptop that might be able to run those games at Max or near max. This way that specific person can still game away from his/her gaming rig.

    Even this is really a cool laptop, I still prefer a self-built desktop for its higher power because I don't want to buy a whole new gaming laptop every fucking time I find myself hardly enjoying new games because the lack of performance(highest settings all the way except AA) of the machine just in one or two years.
    And yes, upgrade gaming laptop's gpu is going to cost you a lot more than buying a decent or top tier gpu, not to mention that many gaming laptops cannot upgrade their gpu.

    3200x1800 resolution is great for Photoshop and multi- window productive work.. But its virtually useless for gaming on a 14" screen. Unlike the Windows 8.1 UI which scales icons and text for small screen, games suffer from text scaling since games tend to scale text according to Resolution, not the screen size.
    Forget about playing "text-info" heavy games like Total War series, Civ series,, Crusader King series etc etc. However, console ports like X:COM Enemy Unknown will run great since they use huge text by default for all resolution.
    i wonder how many people will actually play at 3200x1800 resolution. I dont blame Razer for making this mistake. They gave in to what the dumb ass consumer wanted. Better resolution retina diaplay blah blah standards....
    A simple 1080p display would have been more than enough! (which is still overkill for the 850M,860M and 865M series GPU)

    • @galatasarayfan67
      @galatasarayfan67 Před 10 lety +1

      You're missing the point, no one is expected to play games at the native 3200*1800 resolution of this screen, it wouldn't be able to run most games at 3200*1800 anyways.
      Since 3200*1800 is an even multiple of the resolution 1600*900, you can simply run your games at 1600*900 and have no interpolation issues because of the perfect 4 to 1 pixel mapping ratio.
      If you try playing games at 1280*720 or 1600*900 on a screen that is natively 1920*1080, you will have interpolation issues. Since 1920*1080 is not an even multiple of neither 1280*720 or 1600*900.
      Because of the 1800p screen, you can drive most games just fine on a 900p resolution without any interpolation issues (And you would get rid of the text issues you mentioned) and still keep that sexy 1800p screen for other purposes, so no it's not "dumb-ass consumers wanting the retina display standard". Razer actually put some thought into this.

    I dont understand these comments, first this scrub macbook user, then the people comparing this to a desktop....
    first off macs suck shet, and the price for performance is just shet, they rip you off on the hardware side, then the software side. apple fan boy keep to your mommy's wallets and gtfo. btw bootcamp is retarded shet, you have to partition your drive which is stupid and wasteful, or even the windows parallel stuff, slow and shetty. macs are meant for the common folk who do not care about their hardware or even their software, they just want to pour money into a device outdated in like 6 months due to refreshes. Windows on the other hand is like a cheap car, you upgrade when u want and have some ability to change stuff around.
    razer is known for high prices, but this here is something called innovation at a high price- the monitor itself is going to cost a fortune, and to craft this stuff takes expensive ass machining, look at how thin that stuff is- for that nvidia gpu to even fit is insane. apple only pulled off an integrated iris at best in their mac Air.
    a desktop can EASILY outperform this by a longshot, but i dont think a desktop+monitor+power generator+all yo shet can fit into a backpack.
    take it for what it's worth, going to set new standards for technological advancements, in the end of the day more companies will use IPS panels to compete.

    Ugh... Do not listen to PC gamers, PC gaming is overpriced and is not worth it. Just spend $399 on a Sony PlayStation 4 and grab games like inFAMOUS Second Son, you'll never find an exclusive game like that on PC.
    $2k.. For a PC... For what Multi platform games?
    PS4 $399 > PC $2000+

    • @Genjinaro
      @Genjinaro Před 10 lety

      I own a Razer 14 becuase it fits my mobile play-style but you do know you can build a gaming PC stronger than the PS4 & the XBOX One for nearly the same price. No membership fee, cheaper games, free legit games, far better graphics, better multiplayer games, more control over the game (mods) & exclusives that aren't all $60 a pop.
      Example: pcpartpicker.com/p/38YPd

      Cocosoy
      Noob. We all already have a mouse and keyboard so that is not added to the price. Plus you can torrent the OS, so there's another one off the price. Lastly, did you not see George's "example link"?

    • @Genjinaro
      @Genjinaro Před 10 lety

      Cocosoy You do realize I added a custom build via link right? Keyboards & mice are cheap. For the price of one Dual-shock 4 you can get both.
      Hell, you can use whatever controller/ mouse (even OS) you want on PC.
      You can play Assassin's Creed 4 in any configuration (doesn't have to be ultra) & still get higher, more consistent FPS & better resolution & graphics on stock settings.
      in.ign.com/en/review/1514/nvidia-gtx-750-ti-review (Mentions AC4)
      Not to mention its a PC, there is little you can't do to it. If your an at home gamer, it's the best investment.
      Here is a PS4 scenario:
      System: $400
      1 year PS+: $50
      Exclusives, lets say 3 games: $180
      Total: $630
      Same money, PC offers far better value & savings.
      LOL, as a laptop gamer who sacrifices his wallet. I never thought I'd be teaching someone else the wonder of building a gaming PC..

    • @jonathanliu3239
      @jonathanliu3239 Před 10 lety

      George Williams News to you, PS4 COMES with dual shock 4, while your pc build doesn't come with keyboard/mice. And I found it retarded to add $180 (3 games) to the PS4 system when you are comparing the system. Are you saying you can pirate the games for free on PC? Truly dumb... Also, you don't need PS+ to play AC4. Let's compare apple with apple.
      Your PC w/o keyboard & mice:$611 (not including tax)
      PS4: $400 WITH a dual shock controller (not including tax)
      Difference: $211 or 52.75%
      That's a 50% increase in price. I am not here to argue that PS4 is better than PC (PC is obviously better), that's not my argument. I am talking about COST. Your "nearly same price" is a 50% difference. Hope it make sense to you.

    Razer is stupid. This thing has a glossy screen, which means bad reflections and glares. Not to mention the damn thing is a touch screen! How stupid is that?! I thought this was supposed to be a gaming laptop!?
    Another thing, why are they setting the price that high? MSI easily destroys Razer with their notebooks. At a much better price point as well.

    I am really impressed by this laptop ! The performance that Razer fit in this form-factor is just amazing . Still , because I need a laptop to work on the move , Aorus X7 is better option because of its RAM , processor and storage . But that screen tough...
