same I've been wondering about that too!! i wish i knew people who lived in japan so i could ask them if CHVRCHES really has become a hit in japan. I wouldn't be surprised though! The lead's vocals are angelic, and that's a quality that's often seen in jpop
Kiri Deustar this song is used as the opening song for the show. after they performed at the festival at osaka and here at tokyo (last aug)they made a special guesting on the show and filmed this but prior to that they already performed both at osaka and tokyo last february as part of the love is dead tour. and for the death stranding hideo kojima(the creator of the game) said that hes an hardcore chvrches fan so i think he asked the band for it. chvrches also made a collab with an jpop edm group called wednesday campanella last year. went to their gig twice this year here in tokyo and i could say tho japanese people could hardly speak english they love the band bcos i think of the synth vibe which is very familiar to them.
