And this sound is so The Cure... I love it. Went back to their old albums and the guitar crept under my skin again... Miss Robert Smith's vocal part in this version, though.
Same here. Sometimes all you need is a piece of art which simply clicks with your headspace in that one odd way. "Ghost in the Mist," by Lacuna Coil, had the same effect on me, several years prior.
Why do you care so much about what random people think? Is it really that important that everyone has to agree with your opinion on a song? Or are you just on here tryo g to get some likes because that's important to you?
Yes. Nice job nailing that. It's 100% "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep". The drummer turned off the snare and everything. ;) It's a complete ode to The Cure.
@twas brilling Well is easy to understand. Often electronic bands are great in studio but not actually able to play live. Chvrches are the exception to the rule.
@@jamiejones9335 This collab with Robert Smith is truly amazing. I would love to see how they went about it. How much input he had whether he just oversaw production and mixing.
A song, a hymn for resilient persons 😁. I'm 58 and a fan of this great Scotish band since I heard them for the first time ten years ago. And I love The Cure since my teenage years!!!
Thanks! I did think this live performance was brilliant (hence why I posted the video), it gets the intruments out there better than the album version. It is sad for the audio compressors and overall volumes that have been abused in the audio recording (I suspect the limiters were working hard :D), and the fact that on live performances Robert is absent. I hope they will come out with a live album with this track!
The more I hear this song, the more it quietly and incrementally becomes one of my favourite songs of all time.
we don't get songs like this very often! the best I heard in years!
I agree!
Amen!
Because of covid I think and all artist are good no matter what
Up there, brother. 100% agreed, Fucking great song! Always on my repeat.
Honestly I want rs on a live take but him or not you're absolutely right
She is so insanely talented. I just love her.
Love it when her Scottish accent pops outs during some of the lyrics
She kind of reminds me of Shirley Mason she's from Scotland as well just by the way she talks
The guitar sound in this is completely magic
And this sound is so The Cure... I love it. Went back to their old albums and the guitar crept under my skin again... Miss Robert Smith's vocal part in this version, though.
Outstanding live performers.
Please don't downplay this song. It helped me thought a terrible time I was going through, I had it on repeat for days
Same here. Sometimes all you need is a piece of art which simply clicks with your headspace in that one odd way.
"Ghost in the Mist," by Lacuna Coil, had the same effect on me, several years prior.
No issue with that. Songs do things.
Through is what I think you were going for.

Me too. Incredible song
She is not only a great singer with great musicians backing her, she is perhaps most importantly a great poet. Powerful words and music.
Depressing?! It's absolutely beautiful!!!! First time I heard it, it almost took my head off especially with Robert Smith!
The acoustic version without Robert is great, really showcases the vulnerability in her voice. Best scottish female voice since Clare Grogan.
she improved on live! A LOT!! way to go CHVRCHES
Huge fan of the song. Hard not to miss Robert Smith. He is the perfect addition.
Fucksake...how good is this!
And to top it, they are Scottish.🏴🏴
So fuckin proud of this band!
No one talk about the "If only tonight we could sleep" drums at the outro ? That's fucking sick.
Yes. Nice job nailing that. It's 100% "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep". The drummer turned off the snare and everything. ;) It's a complete ode to The Cure.
Wow, well spotted, you're right!
How many fans would freak if Robert Smith walked out for this?! 🖤🖤🖤💋💋💋
First song I've ever heard from them. I've been listening to it over and over.
Mee to, I refused to listen to this band for long and I don't know why

Old songs are even better. I recommend 'Mother We Share', 'Never Say Die', 'Miracle'.
damn, she is good live
she is amazing🙂
Right?! And so many people say she can't sing live. C'mon, y'all.. she's a wonder. Whole band is great.
Riviting
She's an amazing singer she also reminds me of Shirley Manson who's from Scotland
Live they've really got that goth sound down pat. Not surprised to have Robert interested in playing with them. Just love it.
Really love this. For a moment, I was reminded of Dolores O'Riordan. RIP Dolores.
Love The Cure like guitar riffs at the end.👍🏻

Wow her voice is good live.

Brzmi dobrze! Bardzo dobrze! Udany utwór, przypomina mi lata 80
The guitars at the end holy hell chills ….
And that would be the genius of Robert Smith. All those guitar parts and effects. It's all him.
@@kpopme7710 he really knows how to harness pure melancholy into a guitar that’s for sure

Вокал в живую звучит не хуже, чем студийка! Хорошая работа, хорошее исполнение композиции!
Translation:
Live vocals sound no worse than the studio! Good job, good performance!
Да, далеко не все так могут вживую. Смотрел много их выступлений - она всегда отлично поёт.
The version with Robert Smith is the best. I've played it so many times
