As someone who has struggled with sobriety, but is now living a life of drug recovery this song reminds me of my breakup. My non-using bf at the the time was not prepared to stay with me because of my drug use and that was the catalyst for me getting sober. It breaks my heart and lifts me up all at the same time. 💖💖💖
I would say I hope your staying strong but I guess it's more accurate to say I hope your persevering even when you don't feel strong

I can relate. After recovering a horrid early 13_18 domestic abuse from older gentleman. Years after I thought I was ok. Not realizing my next relationship would test that. I was seeking validation in my next relationship.turned out idk who I was dating . Double life after 2years. I was about to propose, house, adoption. Shattered me. I lost my purpose. Chose drugs to comfort. "Blew" all my dream$ away. Sobriety is no joke nor easy. But worth it like anything that takes time. Keep going! When all fails remember. Turn to ur GOD not FOG.xo

I remember hearing this song whilst driving home after my dad passed away and I didn't know why I needed to hear this but I do when I think of him. It was about 2am and cold and wet and people were leaving clubs and pubs and running in front of traffic, not realising the fragile nature of life. I suppose you don't until....

This song completely changed my life. It amazes me how much musicians are able to capture your emotions. This song captured one of the most toughest decisions I have ever had to make in my life, and I am so glad that I found this song because through its lyrics it brings me solace to know that someone else knows what that's like. I fucking love CHVRCHES, I cannot wait for the day I get to see them perform this

Have you seen them in concert yet? I think I finally saw them in early 2019 after years of loving them. They defined my university experience and I was able to see them back where I went to uni having graduated a few years before. Well worth it. Now I cannot wait for the next time I see them.

Saw them live last year in LA and they were amazing!! As I was rocking out, I looked across the balcony and saw HAIM dancing and singing along. My other favorite band supporting my other favorite band. It brought a tear to my eye.

Still my favorite song of theirs . Lauren's voice in this is so angelic but it also feels artificial. I dont mean autotuned. It makes me think of the video game Control. Its scifi in a mystical way. THIS is the song I send people who ask me about Chvrches

My thoughts were slightly different. This song reminds me of the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror, in which people have the option of uploading themselves to the cloud at the time of death. In that episode there was a lot of 80s pop.

So, I don't see a city, but a big device with electronic components that is lit upon after years being buried. Light activates it, energy flows, the lights in the small electronic components 1:40 are lighting up and that something is recovering (or not (lyrics)).

I love just about every song from Chvrches. Her voice is so amazing.
This song moves me in so many ways. I wàke up with it stuck in my head because it makes me believe what i feel is for good or bad but true because i feel it.
Waking to a song in your head happens for a VERY special reason; I beleive deeply that the reason is because God's Angels were singing it to you in your sleep! 😢... they sing songs to me all the time now.. its been about seven years since it began.. on a day when I almost took my own life...
