The no-date looks so much cleaner. Definitely my favorite!
The cyclops was an interesting attempt for improving legibility, but the execution was never great and I think it makes every watch that has one look worse.
it’s more boring though and less functional
@@jeririce4928 Ironically it's more functional and less cumbersome. I pick my Sub, I set the time and I go. That's it.
Especially on NATO and rubber straps it is really fun. Now it might be boring for people who are not really into watches. They think they are, but they're not. They are more interested in the recognition hence why the cyclops is requested most of the time or the [insert shiny color] type. Because people will know you wear a Rolex (or Paganmi ). I don't have to worry when I bang him here and there for fear of scratching the cyclops. Worth nothing that most of my watches have no date. I just love certain aspects of this watch and like I said - people who are NOT really into watches but more as a fashion statement and resell value will not understand.
3:26 is not the Parthenon (which is at the acropolis in Athens Greece), but is the Pantheon in Rome!
Perhaps you could fix this error post-production
Please do correct it, it may harm future generations that see this video and get it wrong for ever
@@Brimful22 Yes, I agree. Should be corrected as it’s rather unfortunate. Why bring it up at all if you don’t know it.
The Submariner 124060 might just be the greatest Rolex ever made. The slimmer lugs, thicker bracelet, and upgraded clasp support the watch perfectly in comparison to the previous generation. And this is coming from someone with a 5.9 inch wrist. That should speak volumes to its comfort on so many wrists.
ngl my issue with it is, everyone thinks it fake but at the same time living in London, risk of getting robbed at knife point
same as the daytona. If someone is wearing one, there is always a question if its fake or not.
Why do you care if people think it’s fake?
@@Casa1000 People are insecure and need others to know they're a special watch collector.
I own a Black Ceramic 124060 and could give a rodent's posterior if people think it's fake. The slimmer lugs, thicker bracelet, and upgraded clasp support the watch perfectly in comparison to the previous generation. And this is coming from someone with a 5.9 inch wrist.
This reference might be the greatest Rolex ever made. Rolex has now perfected it IMO.
Why is London so dangerous? I keep hearing that and am surprised.
@@Czeron01 A lot of mugging in recent years. They specifically target people with luxury watches.
3 and a half years for a sub is crazy
Yes, but nowadays you see people on reddit walking in ADs and out with subs and explorers. Market has changed.
@@twoedc4202 Proof that it's all smoke and mirrors and artificially scarcity, and anyone who subjects themselves to that is a consumerist fool with no self-respect. If I walk into a Rolex store and they treat me poorly and put me on a list, I'll tell them to go f*** themselves and gladly purchase any other of the dozens of quality watch brands out there. Also the Rolex Submariner is one of the most boring overrated watches on the planet and most people buy it because they're unimaginative unoriginal boring generic people with no interesting tastes.
@@twoedc4202idk about that lol, I’m still on the waitlist.. it’s been 6 months.
Yeah. I did not even put my name on the list the my ad said he cam get it in few months. So the market is not thd same as 2 years ago
The P39 you had is the perfect daily wearer version with the lightweight ti and the sub is the “garage queen” that you admire and smile at.
P39 is a lovely watch, but a bit small for me to wear.
The new Sub and Explorer are definitely the two top GADA watches IMO.
I agree with you 💯%, the newer subs (114060, 124060) are too heavy and uncomfortable for everyday, the 14060M is a much better choice, just like the P39. And with the P39 you don't have to worry about babying the thing.
@@wristopia4101 You must be, and I don't mean this in a bad way, a younger dude or a dude with very thick wrists. Dudes in our 40s like me usually prefer the 5 digitg cases, much lighter and more refined than the 6 digit models, that's what we bought a long time ago and fell in love with, even with my 8.25 in wrist I still prefer the late 90s early 2000s pieces.
@@rnunez70681 Haha, no not young.
Have a vintage Seadweller which is tiny now.
I have a 19cm/7.5" wrist and tend to prefer 40 or 41mm with 21mm lug width.
It was interesting that the P39 was the first 21mm lug widthTudor, and I feel that's why it looks so good, so the new Sub will look much better than say the GMT dimensions in me I think.
I am not too affected by weight either way (do not find Pelagos that light feeling anyway) but prefer the weight of steel.
Each to their own though ; )
@@wristopia4101 I think they did 21mm lug width to make the lugs themselves thinner and more refined, the Sub however has a thicker and heavier case with pronounced crown guards, and the 21mm lug width does not resolve the visual proportions of the case. Don't even get me started on the GMT, that's the one professional model that should never have received the maxi case treatment.
Congrats on getting it at retail. You do sound super stoked.
I have a no date submariner and just think it’s still the definitive dive watch. It’s classic and wears exceptionally well. I don’t see many people at all wearing one though.
I see a lot of people wearing the sub date, it seems the no date version is much more rare. I like the symmetry of it and such a shame they don’t make them in other colors like the sub date.
That’s a great point - wish they made no date in other bezel colours. I wonder why they don’t
It’s funny. Some folks start out wanting a Rolex sub. They go on a circuitous route of other watches for a few years, calling themselves watch enthusiasts as they madly flip. Then they finally get their Sub, which is what they actually craved all along.
If Rolex would just sell Submariners to everyone who wants them, I think we would have far fewer watch enthusiasts.
So sad how the top comment of this video is someone criticizing the owner instead of being happy for him.
Well said.
So true
I got the new no date sub and I love it 100% but it gave me the itch for a gmt master 2 and now I have the batgirl as well. 😂 my justification is that at least the bracelets are oystersteel and jubilee respectively, also no date sub but cyclops on the batgirl, and just a hint of color (blue) on the batgirl so depending on my outfit or mood I go back and forth. Of course the third player is my blue dial white gold fluted bezel 41mm datejust with the oystersteel bracelet if I want to dress up a notch. I’ve had breitlings, omegas, Tudor, panerai, etc but I sold them all and consolidated to just my 3 watch collection and now the itch has finally been scratched. Apologies if this comes off as pretentious, but the point I’m making is that I understand the feeling he had about having other watches that just reminded you of what you really want instead. I’m very fortunate to be able to even have any of these and it took years of saving and watching the market so when it finally came down from the peak in 2022, I had to strike. And honestly one of the biggest selling points for me was the 70 hours on all 3 watches I have now. My Tudor black bay was the only one that came close to that, which makes sense obviously.
Kinda a profound observation.
@@fj7509 I’m reading my comment again now, and I feel kind of bad for writing it. Part of me is actually happy for him. The other part of me still feels salty for reasons I can’t express well.
I watched him flip a ton of watches over the years and it makes me reflect on my own “watch journey” and I feel bad for the similar journey I am on. He ends up with a bunch of Rolexes like many other CZcamsrs.
I’ve never owned a Rolex, on perhaps misplaced “principle”. I could sell a few of my watches and buy one. But Maybe I don’t actually care about watches. Maybe if I got a polar Explorer I would end up on a similar route and end up with three more Rolexes before too long .
Maybe my twenty years of watch enthusiasm were in vain. Maybe I’m kidding myself. Maybe I should just get a Rolex. I truly don’t know anymore. 🤷♂️ what is this world coming to.
Congrats! Enjoy it! Regarding your preference for thinner lugs and 20mm lug width, the SD4K appears to check all your boxes, plus it has a matte dial & cyclops-less date complication…
Congrats on the pickup! I can definitely tell that you’ve upped your video production 😎
Now you recently made a video about a 7 watch rotation…do you plan on selling one to fit that criteria?
Congrats on acquiring the sub! Another point is the sub is a great legacy watch that can be passed to family through the years. Hope you have many years of enjoyment.
The date complication doesn’t belong on the Sub, smart purchase.
Great video. You captured the core of what makes this watch iconic, especially the marketing genius of the brand. I have a 14060, but can’t deny I like the new one. Congrats!
Great pickup, congrats ! What were you alluding to when you mentioned the versatility of the bezel / ability to change looks (similar to the 16710)?
I picked up a 126610LV last year and love it as a daily. I’ve looked into adding a black OEM bezel insert / setup for added versatility, but everything I’ve read / watched has said this process is pretty high risk in addition to being tough to source genuine bezels (for a reasonable price).
Would be curious to hear your plan / strategy around this!
The Roman Pantheon was built around 25 A.D. and was built in the same manner and to copy the architecture of the Greek Parthenon which was built in 432 (ish) B.C. So our buildings here in the US are built like the ancient Greek buildings.
The Pantheon is in Rome. The PaRthenon is in Athens.
@@corgiowner436 yea but Harrison said Parthenon
We got the idea of what he was trying to say nevertheless.
@@isaacc154 still wrong though, and thats how knowledge gets lost to future generations (kinda like how rumours work ;-) )
had one for over 8 months and sold it ... got tired of wearing the same thing as everyone else ... decided I'm not into being one of the crowd, but then again I'm an architect/designer and my job is to make NEW things, not copy other work.
I’ve had mine for around the same time. I’m with you about it being prolific and a little boring. On the other hand, I like that it’s a classic and will never sell it. But I am looking at other brands like Grand Seiko to be a little different than the crowd.
Switch to the FF, i did. Funny how that looks like s "modern" diver to the generations of today.
It's like 1st gen Mustang, every car enthusiast has one. BORING
all of your work is derivative, I guarantee
I’ve been wearing my 124060 for a year and will always enjoy it. It fits perfectly with my personality and style and it’s really a watch that you make your own.
Definitely not for everyone.
Just got my 126610LV. Good choice and congrats. I had the explorer 2 and a 126610LN. At the end of the day, there’s a reason it’s so popular.
I have the 126610LN. I put a premium rubber strap on it, and it made a huge difference in wearability. Feels lighter and smaller on the wrist now. Might be something for you to consider.
Congrats on the new Sub Harrison. I got mine last June and it’s the crown jewel of my collection, I absolutely love it. May you wear yours in good health.
I spent 3 years with the exact same watch. And what I found is that I still like how it looks, but 9 out of 10 times, I go for my BB58 or some other lighter and more comfortable option…
I put the Sub on a rubber strap, but really am fan of bracelets. So my Tudors and Sinn 356 (and a couple of others) take all the wrist time
Omega speedmaster 3861 and role submariner 124069 what is your grail watch ?
I don’t think I’ve heard you so
Animated or excited when reviewing or talking about a watch… this was always my grail when I was a young boy however the whole risky stays of wearing one over in the uk these days tarnishes the thought of wearing one to enjoy, and also there is so much stigma attached to the sub that I’m afraid it’s lost its glamour for me now .. as I crave proper tool watches that still exude its purpose not its status and I’m now leaning toward the 40mm explorer to that end. I have several Tudor divers that are proper tools and omit the shiny bezels and polish and by default are attractive to
Me. All that said the sub is still a beautiful iconic watch but sadly for me at least gives me
All the wrong vibes.
As an owner of a new 36mm Explorer, I want to be honest with you and say I don't rate the watch at all. I tried using it as an excuse for satisfying my desire for a Submariner 124060, and I still ended up getting the Submariner a few months later.
There's nothing wrong with the Explorer. It just doesn't speak to me. I would just end up purchasing an Oyster Perpetual with the money, or if I can't get that, I would have gotten a Grand Seiko.
Um, because it is probably the most iconic watch ever made. It doesn’t hurt the it is also a contender for best GADA watch ever. Congrats on an amazing piece of horological history.
You beat me to saying that lol 😉
I do not have one yet (long story) but having just got an Explorer and am wondering if that is actually the best GADA?
No, it's really not in the running for best GADA; that would be G Shock.
Na it’s the sub I wear one all day everyday (gym, beach, I work in insulation/drywall). G shocks are great but def not gada
@martinskowronek great, a watch that only tells the time is not "do anything"; and that's ignoring that it's a scratch magnet with exposed crystal. And the bit where your watch stops running, so you have to reset and wind.
Are you sure you know what GADA means? Care to guess how many special forces guys are in the field wearing Rolex?
I wear G Shock or Garmin when it matters; everything else is jewellery.
Wow 3.5 years waiting! I’m too old to do that.
For the history, design, robustness and branding, the Submariner is the best watch in that price range. This is coming from an Omega fan who has both the Green Seamaster and Speedmaster. When I got my 114060 Submariner, it felt levels ahead of my Seamaster in terms of classiness and feel, which was shocking because I thought it would feel exactly the same given how great Omega watches are. The only downside of the modern Submariner is the clasp. Why is it so damn large and thick? Haha. Congratulations on your new acquisition.
Classic watch! The no date Rolex Sub is a stunning timepiece. I hope you enjoy it for many years and hopefully pass it down. I was able to get the same one in early 2023. I guess it was my lucky day. I had a special birthday coming up and I told him that I wanted the no date sub. He went to the vault and came back with it. Happy birthday to me!!
A timeless design that has been imitated countless times, and is the benchmark for a diver, in my opinion. Beautiful watch, I am happy for you!
I own a Squale 1545 in Smurf blue and I love it. Still on the waitlist for a no date sub or one with a green bezel but not sure when I will ever get the call….cheers!
Great vid, I like how you talked about the lineup history AND the marketing which made Rolex so special
1:02 and you have to pause it exactly on that. Is there rust forming between the crystal and the bezel? You can see orange/red specs in the space because of the high level zoom and clarity of the camera. I doubt anyone can notice something like this with their naked eye, but you certainly can in this video. Id love to know people’s opinion on this.
More like wrist cheese
Congratulations! Your sub earned you a new sub! I’ve been watching you for some time not realizing I haven’t subbed until now. We are all sub brothers! Lol
The non date Rolex sub is an iconic watch. The glide lock clasp is amazing on the new submariners. 3 and a half years is a long wait for the no date sub. I went for the Starbucks which I picked up in Feb 24.i waited about 2 years and 7 months. It’s the mark 2 dial, which I prefer over the mark 1. Which is basically the hulk bezel. Congratulations on your non date sub, enjoy.
Great video. I’ve been into the watch hobby since 2010. My first Rolex was Explorer 2 16570. Since then I have owned Rolex, Omega, Tudor, JLC, IWC, Grand Seiko and other more affordable brands. My favourite watch over this period was a 1991 14060 Sub with Tritium dial. Unfortunately my OCD brain told me it was too polished, not original with hands and bezel, so I sold it. My most recent purchase is this 214060 Sub. It has all the appeal of the vintage Sub with modern improvements. It keeps perfect time and the dial pops due to AR coating. In my opinion not only the best Rolex, but best all-round watch ever made. Enjoy yours for many years to come.
First if all congrats, stunning watch. I own my 14060m no date…and love it. I am currently wearing it on a rubberb strap, which makes it very comfortable in summer. Brings a pleasing aesthetic too. It may be common, but it's also classic, ageless and a Rolex. You can wear it with anything or activity, and it just works. To be fair, it's just my daily beater, but it does that effortlessly.
The no-date Sub has been and always will be the best looking watch of all time!
Do you have both the explorer and submariner? Is there space in your collection for both and why?
they are two completely different watches (relatively speaking). different design/function/era. I have the same two
Your whole tone and way you’re talking shows how super stoked you are at getting it.
As an owner of the 116610, I still would have kept the P39.
The thing about the sub is everyone thinks it’s fake but still rob you for it. I can’t stand the aura behind that watch.
The explorer 1 is just perfect
Have you actual worn the Explorer 1 36mm? The new one 124270 I so wanted to love the watch. I loved the history and look of the watch, timeless elegance. I got the call from the AD and it looked perfect on me at the AD it was prefect. After 7 months I sold it I just couldn’t get used to how diminutive it wore on my wrist and the severe 14mm taper just never felt right. Too bad because I always thought that would’ve been my one and done.
So buy a Nivada Grenchen, Super Antarctic.
@michaelriera6277 have you tried the 114270?
@@michaelriera6277 Had the same feeling as you and ended up going for the larger 40mm 224270. But sometimes I do feel like 40mm is too big for an explorer... Meanwhile the current 124270 is most definitely too small and dainty. Wish they made the explorer in 38mm, that would be perfect!
I have not as this is not a model available at an AD.
I had one and liked it - but not as much as: either a modern Tudor Pelagos or a vintage Tudor sub! The square indices and extra toolyness do it for me!
That’s a crazy wait time but congrats on getting it! I got mine last year and love it. I got the date version as to me ir went perfect with my Nttd Seamaster. It does have some heft to it but the bracelet having micro adjust makes it perfect.
Congrats!!!!! Amazing watch!!!! I'm on the fence between getting the no-date Sub 41mm or the 2014-2017 40mm ceramic SeaDweller 116600 for a few thousand bucks more (no waitlist, smaller size than the supercase 40mm Subs). I would like to see a Speedy vs Sub vs Explorer 36mm comparison. Also curious to see the 41mm Sub on a leather strap, or NATO. Looks like you have all watches checked off, dress, diver, chrono, dress, affordable, digital, Japanese watches. My perfect collection would be 36mm Explorer, the Speedy Pro, 41mm Sub no date, Reverso small seconds mono face, Patek Calatrava 5196, Patek Perpetual Calendar 5140.
Congrats! Beautiful watch and great dimensions.
I bought a Submariner 14060m a few months back and I don't want to say the honeymoon period is over, but I recently bought a Seamaster 2254.50 (Peter Blake) so on any given day, one of them is my go-to. Unfortunately my 16570 hasn't been on the wrist for around 6 months now.
Hope you talk about the buying process in another video. Would love to hear how you kept yourself on your ADs radar for 3 years.
I bought one in 2008 for around $4800. I have worn it, as well as other Rolex watches every since then. For me, it is not about prices going up or down or what other people think. It is the simple fact that I buy them because they make me happy. I enjoy wearing them and looking at them and I love the mechanical craftsmanship.
I have it and love it. Anyone who says they don’t want one is really lying. If they get the opportunity to get one I am convinced 100% of people would take it and fall in love while having it and either not sell it or deeply regret selling it. It is quintessentially the watch of our time. It can be worn anywhere and therefore it genuinely is the GADA watch. It’s classic and will never go out of style and will never be yesterday’s news. It’s to me the very best watch of our time. Sure there are better watches, prettier watches, more technical watches, and ones I would prefer to have but for me in my watch journey there was no other watch I wanted first and that’s why it was my first watch when I started my true watch journey. White it’s flashy the brushed center links and the thin profile give it an understated look beating out the gmt master 2 and the profile can’t be beat. It’s incredible and the watch I will own forever
The thing is that it’s not really that flashy, it’s quite understated, no extra colors, or awful jewels encrusted on it, (shame on hype rich trash that sully Rolex by getting their gaudy awful custom variants). It’s monochrome, brushed steel and no muss no fuss. But if you come across another watch person, they’ll know. And that’s enough. It’s like an exclusive club that you don’t have to advertise (or shouldn’t) but if you know, you know.
I bought my 1987 two-tone bluesy when my daughter was born, still wear it often, and it will be passed on down to her. I’m 74, have a watch collection with various brands and it is still my favorite overall. Absolutely classic design, functionality and with the two-tone, I can wear it when I dress up. Two tones were in way back then and they’re making a comeback now.
Great video and delivery Harrison! Congrats on buying an icon.
You spoke a lot faster than you normally do in your previous videos, is it because of the excitement?
You can’t ever get bored looking at such an amazing piece. These watches are truly stunning!
I've always wanted a Submariner- at first I wanted a no-date Subbie because of the symmetry. Hoping in the future I can add it to my collection. Congratulations on your timepiece! Enjoy!
What is your wrist size?
I knew you were going to mention the weight!!! Although I really want a (no date) Sub it is my main deterrent againts the 124060. I, like you, am used to the 120-130 grams weight of the 5 digit models and the slimmer case/lugs, therefore I still think the 4 liner 14060M may be a better future choice for me but for now I'm happy with my 16570 Polar. Can't weight for the next video comparing this 124060 to the 5 digit models!!
I've always wanted a submariner but after getting my Explorer I think its largely scratched the itch for me. I still wouldn't mind getting one someday but I think it will be an older 5 digit model
Honestly that’s a solid pick too. Good for you
Congrats! Looks great. I prefer the SMP, I have the 2254.50, as it just looks so unique and I love the Omega branding. But a fluted DateJust would be by dream Rolex. Hopefully one day.
that's a beautiful Omega watch
My father always wanted a Sub. He got his back in 1979. I always wanted a Sub. Have been on the waitlist for quite some time. I think it is the watch that all others would like to be. I could say the same about Ferraris.
Love it - have the exact same watch on order. Have a sneaky feeling that I will not need to wait that long
Can’t beat a classic! Enjoy mate
My friend has the 114060 and he loves it.
Congratulations! In my opinion it is the closest thing to a perfect watch. Being good in pretty much any scenario it's maybe a little boring, but for me, if I could only have one watch, it would be a black bezel sub.
If we don't like the waitlists we have to stop giving into the waitlists. After three years of forgetting about the watch It would've signified to me that I don't need the watch. Not a criticism of you but just an observation and opportunity to say that you were no longer interested. Especially with the advent of smart watches it offends me that some of these luxury brands play these games. But I guess it's a business model that works because we keep giving in. However that's why I purchased an Omega. I could buy it the same day.
Never have so many people owned a watch that is so hard to buy 🤪
Glad you are happy with it and enjoy.
It is iconic, but I'm personally taking a step back. I've had the Speedy 3 times, Aqua Terra twice, IWC, and others.... I've found a Smiths PRS-29A... that's all i own now (apart from my G shock) it is like what a rolex was decades ago. A little bit like the Explorer.... small, beautifully proportioned, hassle free with brushed surfaces, manual wind... for £400 i am very happy.
I'm not sure if i can bring myself to spend 10k on a watch any time soon, and this little Smiths is more fun to wear than anything I've owned, because it reflects the time when watches were tools. I had the same feeling when i owned Hamilton watches... at this stage, I'm sick of hype, wait lists and extortionate prices.... that's just me ❤
I’ve just been offered a 124060 as well as a Speedmaster 321 (having just sold my 3861 Hesalite). I’m slightly torn, two very different watches obviously and the 321 is a few grand more.. but it’s more discreet, seems a bit more special?
Tell your AD that your dear friend Mike would like to purchase the Sub and you will buy the Speedy. Then let me know when to pickup the Sub from the AD and we can both go grab drinks afterwards to celebrate wearing our spanking new watches! There that’s what you should do.
@@michaelriera6277 😂😂😂
I really want a EXPLORER II AND SUBMARINER don’t know why because like you say everyone has them but it’s something about them 2 watches that does something for me great video
What’s your wrist size ?
You pretty much summed up why I like a Tudor, the remind me of a time when they were well crafted tool watches. I have no desire to own a Rolex, they are too much bling, too shiny. I’m perfectly happy with a Tudor gmt and a Pelagos. To each is their own
I have no problems at all waiting a few years for a Rolex, my trouble is that they show me the door without even give me the chance to wait (I have a small buying history at that AD with an Omega AT)
Congratulations, it is a true icon among watches and a superb time piece with a very strong link to past Submariners. I have that same model. Wear and enjoy!
No date Sub. Great choice. Congratulations…enjoy!
The Rolex Submariner 124060 is divers watch perfection personified, they have absolutely nailed the proportions with the last design updates in 2020 , looks so much better than the 114060 looks like a square popsicle on a stick compared to this . Love the 124060 and hope to buy it sometime in the future soon .
A good analogy to the submariner I think would be the Mercedes G Wagon. It became iconic because of its capabilities before it became a status symbol, yet to this day, it is still capable of doing what it was originally designed to do. Just like how the submariner is still just as capable as a tool watch as it is as a status symbol.
My submariner changes personality with every change of strap (I bring 5 colors when I’m on a business trip), and yes, the 21 mm are a pity, but… it’s new, enjoy it!
I always find the clasp configuration that people chose interesting: Have you tried going for 4 links on the 6-o-clock side?
This was a great review, I’ve owned this watch for two years now it’s my only watch and you pretty much explained it all! It’s such a good watch it does what it needs to do.
I have a 2004 Submariner Date that I have had service twice now (by an authorized dealer), both complete overhauls that cost over $1000.00 each time (ouch) I definitely need to start taking better care of it. My point being is that I wear it as an everyday watch so it gets a ton of scratches but the good news is that when you send it in for service they buff right out.
Most iconic watch ever made. Period. If you love timepieces this is a must own.
Congrats. You deserve the best.
I got the same watch.
It was available so I got it with no waiting! Im so lucky 😊
Congrats mate on finally getting the call!!
Congrats on getting the Sub at retail! I own a 16710 and it is indeed like having 3 watches in 1
Really great review, and i love your intelligent comparisons to the Pantheon and Government buildings etc Ive had ny Submariner (date) for 4 months now and it hasn't left my wrost for a day. No other watches get any wrist time
Congratulations on the Sub! 🎉
I’ve worn one for forty years. I love that thing. Always have. Always will. Getting a new one soon too!
I always laugh about watch enthusiasts and weight. I wear a White Gold Sub as a daily and the weight doesn’t bother me at all.
My buddy was the same way. He sold his Gold Sub because it was painful for him to wear.
Congratz man! Amazing watch.
I own a Rolex GMT Master 2 ... and it's a nice watch. I also own Omega's and Grand Seiko's.
There is definately more to watches than Rolex. It's very nice to have flavour in a small watch collection.
Nice Harrison your Rolex collection starting to slowly grow lol 😊
Terrific review! Thank you. Appreciate your content as well as your presentation style.
Congrats. Rolex ceramic bezels are not interchangeable between models. Lots has been written about this. Please…don’t put an aftermarket bezel on that amazing timepiece. 🥂
Ok then a permanent marker it is
Wow this was a masterpiece!! And can't wait for the diving video of the Sub!! Congrats on that beautiful piece!
I have the Sub Date (12 series).
For me it is the ultimate Swiss Army Knife of watches. Especially with the date, it can do anything.
If Omega didn’t already have the name, the Submariner would be the true Aqua Terra.
Yes it is a dive watch, but you could also wear this traversing through jungles, the desert, climbing mountains, or polar regions.
The Submariner is an explorer’s watch.
I wear mine everywhere, work, beach, pool, gym.
Don’t baby it.
Wear it and beat it up.
It can take it.
I love the Date Sub. It really is the do it all for every situation. How long did you have to wait?
Before owning a sub, many CZcamsrs crisitisez Rolex watches. But right after they own it, the smile on their face is seeable. Suddenly, Submariner becomes the best watch in the world!!!!!
If you feel this watch is expensive, do not lust after it. Concentrate on getting on in your life to a point that this watch is just another affordable wrist accessory.
Love the aesthetic of this iconic watch design. This watch design will transcend generations . I never concern my self with what other people are wearing . A lot of people owns this watch for a valid reason . The one you own belongs to you It was purchased with your hard earn money therefore it’s unique to you and no one else. The sub Is an authentic Icon that’s timeless more importantly it has value retention and brand equity. Winner winner
Iconic of course! I dig the Sub Date more. Just a preference! Both are great watches to own!
Great video. Thanks for all the history and insights. However, you referenced the Parthenon but showed a picture of the Pantheon.
Thanks for your video on the Submariner. By the way, the second building image was actually the Pantheon and not the Parthenon.
We went to Rolex AD in Edinburgh back in 2023 March. We put our name down to a OP and and Explorer both in 36MM size. They the closest shops to us. We never got the call. I remember I was getting into the watches 9-10 years ago, reading books, searching online. I knew about the situation with this brand but I thought people just make things up online. It's a crappy feeling to find out yourself that it is crappy. Since I sent an email to the AD and cancelled our names from the list. Whenever I Pass by the shop, I always wonder what have been If they take my money and they sell the watch they had on the shop. Enjoy your watch! God Bless you.
I got a Submariner date last year (3 month wait) It's my first Rolex and I rarely take it off. I love it
outstanding ! Stunning watch. I personnaly prefer the prior ceramic ones but all subs are beautiful
It is a fantastic rugged watch, and a benchmark for a reason. Enjoy it!!
I'm drawn to vintage watches. I like hunting for a watch and enjoy the link with another time. So I would go looking for a vintage Submariner.
