Just ordered mine today! (And if that is your kitchen, I love it!)
My favorite lens right now is the Tamron 70-200 G2---incredibly sharp and very unique bokeh. You have chosen wisely in your Tamron collection!
yeah, it's a great lens and we love using it!
Great video, thanks. I'm planning a backcountry canoe trip with my photo gear. This might be the answer to custom build for the gear I want for that trip in a sealed case. Did not look like they have shapes for my Tamron lenses or my D850 yet.
That case builder website is awesome! Definitely gonna keep it in my bookmarks
super great tool! highly recommend it! it just makes your life so much easier.
I have been a photographer for over 30 years and want to say Thank You for this video. I have a few Pelican cases lying around. I m going over to My Case Builder to see if they can help me.
hey cinnamon girl, thanks for checking out our video! they're a great solution to solve a lot of organizational needs.
Great content!!
My collections of lenses have grown and now I have to look into getting a case used for lens storage. Peace, Flood!
Thanks for sharing...wonderful and helpful video.
hey raymond, thanks for checking out our video!
nice Video man I only wish people had and open mind about was to store your Gear like you do bro thanks
hey anthony, thanks for watching! please subscribe if you like our content!
Totally going to use that case company for inserts!
wooh! yeah they're the best! not a whole lot of people do inserts for cases.
That’s an awesome service! I’m gonna see if they are still around lol. Gonna get a pelican case for one camera and a couple lenses😄👍
Yes, SKB Cases is alive and well: www.skbcases.com/
That's really awesome. If you have a budget and a lot of lenses - must do! I have Nikon D3200 with grip , Sigma 18-35 1.8 , SB5000 speedlight , 55-300 4.5-5.6 , + some other stuff. Everything fits in my Nikon backpack , but it has flexible divider walls and bad walcroe (never seen how it spells) which is kills me.
yeah you really don't need something like this until you have a lot of equipment. but when you're ready for that switch, the custom inserts are so great.
That’s a awesome problem to have. I envy you. Lol great video brother.
hey, thanks for checking it out! thanks for stopping in!
INNOVATIVE
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the best thing since sliced bread
what a fantastic idea its the best.
Thanks! We keep things organized so we know exactly where everything is for a shoot.
This is why I like your youtube channel. First the 7" backdrop, now this. I keep on learning new stuff everytime you upload something. I thought I know my stuff.
I was thinking about becoming a tamron boy. I love my 150-600mm g2.
i like tamron because the price is right and the glass is good.
Great Stuff!!! Greetings from Germany.
hey! hello Germany! thanks for checking out our channel! it would be awesome if you could help us translate our videos into German!
Great video, thanks!
Hey Jess, thanks for checking it out!
Lens measurements are widely available. They could make it a lot easier for their customers with shape library options that allow you to select your gear instead of having to measure anything yourself. They have some items but it’s hardly comprehensive.
measuring your own gear especially if it's just lenses doesn't take very long.
Great idea, but I didn't see prices. I just go to our local rubber and foam store. They sell dedicated foam for the job, cut exactly the case size I bring. Lay out gear on foam to optimal layout, mark with texta. Extendable blade craft knife is extremely sharp and is perfect for this. Very satisfying making your own for a fraction of the price.
That sounds like a great solution. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! You the man
Thanks El! Keep on clickin!
Great for those who like to take EVERYTHING on every shoot. I tend to pick a few lenses with a couple bodies, and everything fits in one bag. As for storage, I won't keep lenses in a case that could trap in humidity and keep out light. Don't want to risk a fungus situation. Still... great for traveling with the whole inventory.
hey russ, thanks for your insight. i tend not to pack light on a shoot.
Saving the silica gel packs you get in things can be really handy if you're working in humid environments or where there's drastic temperature differences. You can also buy them in bulk for pennies.
US only? Always enjoy the vids. Upbeat and while sponsored still informative and creative... plus loving the Tamron SP range. Have the 45 and the 85.
Hi Charlie, where are you from?
UK
yea me too, interested
sorry about that. many of the companies we work with are US-based and international shipping is something they aren't willing to do for giveaways.
Thanks for coming back to me really appreciated but no I didn't think freebees I just wondered if they shipped to uk for paying customers. Keep up the good work
Thank you! Very nice. Looks like you don't really need the finger notches since the width of the lens hoods give you more than enough space. Thoughts? Would it work just as well without the notches?
you're probably right. I just like the ease-of-use with the notches.
I picked up the My Case Builder brochure at the Cine Gear Expo last week. Now, I have to do something. OBTW, I don't think I know anybody else who has an Armadillo in their kitchen.
hey robert, we call him Sparky. He holds the spices.
Does this work for Pelican brand cases?
Hmmm.. so if some one go to your house. These are what they will be looking for.😁 anyway so informative. Im planning to buy one for my next camera
Thanks for watching and glad you found it worthwhile!
@@TheSlantedLens 👍
I wish there was a soft foam liner around the edges so it would provide some shock absorption. Top to bottom it's protected, but that foam looks stiff and not super forgiving. Like if it fell out of my car, they'd still take a beating. They'd just take a beating inside a countered sleeve.
We have put the cases to the test, thrown them down cliffs, down stair cases, outside moving vehicles, down to the bottom of a pool, beaten with a baseball bat, etc and the camera and lenses come out in perfect condition!
@@TheSlantedLens thanks for the quick response! I just figured with it being more dense it may not offer the same as say the egg crate foam material
Is it small enough to be a carry on for air travel?
SKB has a variety of cases and some of them work for a carry-on. This one has a backpack within the hard case and it also comes with different types of interior padding: www.skbcases.com/products/i-series-2011-7-case
Oh you said pluck and pull...I was like JP...language...lol...😝
pluck and pull foam is a thing...not sure what you're talking about.
The Slanted Lens it sounded like...I'm tired of the "effing" pull...lol
agreed.... i heard the same at first :-)
Nice lens
Thanks for watching and keep on clickin!
Very cool! I would need to design cut-outs for light meters and battery grips, too. (Another package delivery for me to try to sneak past my wife... :-)
hi wilson, thanks for watching! haha it's a pretty big box so good luck!
write on top/bottom cap what lens it is... that way there's no guessing, and u can tell ur assistant which one to get if you dont have a hand free.
hey pat that's a great idea! we should totally do that
do you only shoot with Tamron lenses with your Canon Camera because they sponsor you ? and don't you have some Sony glass ? one of those cameras was a Sony camera wasn't it, have you tested the New Tamron 28/75 f2.8
for Sony E mount ?
we shoot mostly tamron but i also have sony and canon glass. haven't tried the new 28!
Did Tamron ever make that 24mm ghost lens?
I have never seen one.
WOW!!!
super mega awesome double-dipped in chocolate wow!
Personally I'd prefer to have wider than 24mm.. I have their 35mm VC and it's amazing.
But 24mm is a little too close, I'd rather a 20mm. Juuust wide enough before too much distortion.
anything wider than a 35mm would be the best.
3:46 what kind of lens is that. I want it
I believe it is the Tamron 24-70.
Hello. I will watch this video again and again to engage. I am fluid in the Spanish language. Also a photographer and a videographer un the Caribbean. By the way, some of the Fstoppers guys move in to enjoy, etc 20 and act 22 4% tax. here in Puerto Rico.
Someday we will get there for a visit!
Please TAMRON...please give us a 24mm f1.8 VC prime...PLEASE!!!
It's a good idea how he's done it, but I have eight bodies and eight lens and I KEEP them all MOUNTED. Any sensor above a D7200 Nikon is going to give you great image quality, so when I upgrade a body or two, I just have more camera's for lens. That way I never have to change lens. You end up with the same amount of cases, but now, you just grab the lens you want, it's free of caps and already mounted. Of course, I'm very serious about my photography, so I invest in bodies too. People spend 20-30K on hobbies today, so my cameras and lens equal that. So what. I bought two D2xs's years ago, they are still great cameras, I have a D3 and D700, again, still great cameras, I have two D500's and two D7200's. All these cameras are great cameras.I'm going to get two D850's and add two more lens. I wouldn't sell any of your bodies from years ago. Seriously. Keep them! My D2's and D3 and D700 are great cameras. I say, if you can't afford it and you want it, work harder, sell the boat, buy the camera, do what it takes to have the equipment if you are serious about the craft as a pro. Good luck and God Bless.
hey craig, thanks for sharing your story.
Ahh. A SKB Case ad.
I need a cheap divider system!
I think these pre-cut systems are pretty amazing. I also love the Think Tank interiors for SKB photo cases. They are awesome! Cheap is a relative term. I have SKB cases that are 10 years old and they look like I just bought them. They will last forever. Buy something decent once and you won't have to buy it again.
The Slanted Lens this is sage advice for all camera gear. 👍
and I put my medium format lenses into thick skiing socks :D how I need some better solution
skiing socks work for you then that's great.
Well I guess... it's not perfect in any way, but better than nothing if you're traveling with a regular hiking backpack and you don't have that much space for foam inserts
What I learnt today, is that this guy has an 85mm and a 90mm lens...
LOL. Seems redundant doesn't it. Keep on clickin!
Cool idea, but lousy Sony lens support, only 10 lenses in the database. No 200-600, 85mm, 70-300mm, 1.4x teleconverter... Defeats the purpose if I have to do all the custom measuring myself and hope I get it right, or trudge through other mfr’s lenses in hopes of finding a close-enough match. Serious bummer.
Tamron sponsorship? :P
🤔
Now, show us your camera bag.
Here's one you might like showing what is in Jay P's camera bag when traveling: czcams.com/video/dPbCodUvVfQ/video.html

Hope you got some good pointers!
This is Lego for Photographer.....!
Definitely a nerd, geek thing!
WAIT!!! People organize their equipment?!?!!!
haha yes mario they do. unless you like to have all your stuff just laying around.
What a shameless plug. I'm doing it wrong, so you try and push a sponsor? Holy hell, what a load of click bait.
Pelican cases are far best. They have many sizes, styles and that's all I buy.
Why on earth would you need every single lens you own on a job. Holy hell. You know what you are shooting so pack accordingly.
juuonse I'm glad you said that. I just see it as unnecessary traveling weight. As you said if you know what you intend to shoot why would you need 20 lenses? He is being used to get people to buy something they really don't need in most cases ( excuse the pun).
Okay so you pack what you need in a camera bag. But now you probably still want all the rest of your lenses and gear to be somehow organized at home, right? That‘s how I would use such cases.
He often does some pretty big, long jobs. It's not always show up, shoot for a couple of hours and go. Some of the stuff he does can take days or more.
Tales I'm a commercial/ industrial photographer as well as a sports photographer. I shoot and own 3 different camera formats. Based on chatting with a client or their art director I pretty much know what I'm doing. So there is no need for me to have every lens I have on a set.
As it relates to sports I carry a teleconverter, a fisheye lens, a 24-70, an 70-200, and a 300 in a rollaround case along with 3 camera bodies. I also have a 400 that I pack in a Nikon carrying case. I have an 85 mm lens that I hardly ever pack for sports. And to be honest that I most times never shoot with.
So yes you need lenses but if you have done the homework up from you'll know what you are shooting and a result what is needed for the job.. You wont need to haul around two cases with every lens you own.
Maybe he does the homework and concludes he needs all over those lenses? He can always remove the ones he doesn't, but it's nice to have one place for things.
I put all my equipment in a large Think Tank bag and it works for me. Two cases is too much. They have all the dividers you would ever need. Two cases is to much for me.

An infomercial. Seriously?!
Hope you learned a tip or two!
I really get the need for you guys to make a buck and get free stuff from sponsors. But why not just say it's a commercial for brand XYZ? There are many ways to do a custom fit case and yes even wit pluck and pull foam. First off don't try to pluck the shape. Use an electric knife instead for a more precise cut. But you knew that and just elected not to say...lol
hey greg, never thought of the electric knife idea. thanks!
Who has an electric knife? ... smh
I do.. smh back. I you have foam lined cases and you want a precise cut you need to spend less that 20 buck to get one... Besides, look at all the meat you'll be able to carve.
No, it's not the wrong way if it's correct for me. Stop the clickbait.
To each his own. Thanks for watching!
After years of being a channel subscriber, I unsubscribed. Good luck to you.
sorry to see you go. hope you'll reconsider.
This is really a shameless video.
Don’t tell me how I’m going to organize my stuff the wrong way in the title!! I clicked your video just to give you a thumbs down. Don’t have a title like that. So rude
john feimster maybe you should try watching it. Just a thought before you pass judgment.
The Slanted Lens maybe you should have a more pleasant title to the video and not make it sound like you are the one judging other people
The Slanted Lens that title is very negative in every way. It should say something more like “A new way to organize photography gear.” The title is very judgmental. Sorry
