- It’s our first day out in Tuscany, and we’re already in love! 😍 We visited the beautiful Saturnia Thermal Baths, ate our first Italian pasta dishes in Pitigliano and had the best gelato by the coast. Between the views and food, it ended up being a pretty perfect day 💗

Dis you guys rented the car? How was the process?
Am imagining or past your ate is very dry??
Italy is just so beautiful! So much to see and explore in one country!
Guys I’m speechless breathtaking everything but but the cat in the middle off the grass at the mountains is my favorite 🤩 he looks like a totally chill free soul !!! I can’t to cute I’m seeing this over and over and over again !!!
Tuscany is SO beautiful. This video makes us want to go back so much. Those thermal pools look stunning too!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Italy has to be in my top three fav countries, I have been there so many times and the food is simply yummy not forgetting their history is sooo fascinating. Great video as per usual.
Italy ... Beautiful Country, Beautiful People, Beautiful Food.
Died a little inside everytime yall called Pasta "noodles" XD
Noodles are Asian right? I never understand when people (also hete in the Netherlands) call pasta noodles😕
Me too! I think Americans say noodles for pasta and noodles? Where as in UK noodles are for Asian food. I was screaming lol its pasta not noodles! 🤣
FWIW the oxford definition of "noodle" is "a very thin, long strip of pasta or a similar flour paste, eaten with a sauce or in a soup." 🤷♂️
@@Theendlessadventure LOLOLOLOL!!!! You guys got me.... I can't complain after seeing that definition hahaha. Btw love the video of course :)
Yeah drives me bonkers when Americans do that.
We loved Lucca and Cinque Terre. Love Italy
Cinque Terre is 👌 Hopefully we can get back to that area next time!
@@Theendlessadventure Lucca is so neat. We went there because one of our friends that were with us Mom and Dad met there. She was from there and he was in the service and was stationed there. We went to the very fruit stand she use to work at when he first saw her. So cool!
I have watched many of your videos. I love your humility and humor. Thank you. We are going to Italy next year. Looking forward to Tuscany for sure.
Awesome hot springs. I can imagine that feels wonderful and relaxing. Great adventure. Beautiful area. Food looked wonderful.
Visit Pamukkale in Turkey. Very similar calcium flows.
I'm really glad you learned that the G in Pitigliano is silent. There are a LOT of silent Gs in Italian names. The blue thermal baths were really something special to see. I didn't know there was one of those in Tuscany, but I have seen photos and video of the ones just like these in China, somewhere in the northern part of China, I believe. I saw it (originally) on Martin Yan's Chinese travel series of shows that was on five or ten years ago.
What an incredible and beautiful area! You both are in paradise!! Putting this on our bucketlist ♡
Ps: are those red worms parasitic?
Yes I’m so glad you tried the truffles and the wild boar too, classic Tuscan food.
Ps they aren’t noodles, but when they’re cooked with a bite (the correct way) it’s called ‘al dente’ which literally translates as “to the tooth”
Love your enthusiastic attitude and spirit . Have travelled quite a bit but enjoy your outlook and new ideas. I love Italy and Tuscany is one of my favorite parts
Pitigliano is almost shaped like Italy. Interesting. Beautiful place. Tuscahas been on our bucket list for a while but you have shown unique places to visit. So glad to have found your channel
OMG that is so bucket list for me! I love Italy and I'm so glad you guys are doing a series there :)
Thanks! Hopefully you're able to visit at some point, definitely worth it 👌
I recommend the Thermal Bath town of Montecatini for a 'home base' when visiting Tuscany. It has a thriving and modern center square with restaurants and lots more. Also has a church in the square and is a block or so from the train station. Use the train to Lucca, Florence, and many other locations.
Allison, your yellow gelato flavor is called Zuppa Inglese which is sort of like an English Trifle but is now a traditional Italian dessert (kinda like Yellow Tiramisú), which is amazingly popular in Northern and Central Italy. I simply know this by eating a lot of gelato in Malta and Italy (I travel there for food a couple of times a year.) Enjoy your adventure :)
This pools so cool
Allison you are so photogenic! Beautiful! The drone footage is just amazing. Great job!
Thanks! 😊
Can you believe how beautiful Allison looks with no makeup? Very naturally pretty
That's my hometown ! So nice to see your perspective of places that I am used to see as my home :)
This places looks beautiful
Love you guys and what you do! An inspiration to live life!
Gee thanks 😊
We absolutely love Tuscany but didn’t have the chance to visit these hot springs. They look so good!
I guess that just gives us another reason to go back 😊. We did however try a lot of wine 😜
Tuscany is my DREAM. I need to plan a trip asap!!
Darn it I was sold until Alison mentioned the red worms!!! 😱😅
Yup, don't do bugs
@cm. CGthat's laughable! I can guarantee I earn more than you do. Take a chill pill and relax . ☮️
Same!
That ice cream looks soooooo goooooood!!!!
its not ice cream different in texture and i love gelato more
I live in tuscany in chianti shire.
I am really lucky.
You have to visit rapolano terme too.
Tuscany is the best region in italy
This is really like dream world.
The springs look so beautiful.
Italy looks incredible! Looking forward to more videos in Italy!
So excited for your Italian roadtrip, it's on my bucket list so looking forward for places to add!!! Love following your adventures :-)
Well that 15:20 minute long of an episode sure flew by :) Always a sign of a great show that's never boring. Totally have these hot springs added to our euro bucket list.
Great share guys.
Best, James and Kim
Thanks! 😊 Hope you get to visit soon 👌
Italy looks soooo beautiful. The food looks delicious. Thanks for sharing your experiences :)
Did not know that there were thermal baths in Tuscany. Looks amazing! Oh and truffle !!!
There are many in Tuscany. Have you evere seen on a Tuscany map those round lakes? Those were volcanos, the entire are has still geothermal activity. We built in Tuscany the first geothermal power plant in the world, and it's still working .
Alby_Torino in fact i have been to Tuscany but i did not have a good look at the map... i guess i was to focused on the food 😉
Go to Montecatini & experience the Roman bagni terme. In early morning go up to Montecatini Alto for coffee & watch the village wake up. Google Montecatini & WW2 to read about the epic battle for Alto, as the narrow road was easily defended.
That pasta looked so delicious and on point, both of them, but holy small serving batman! That looked like two fork fulls max on the place.
True, but in Italy pasta is usually one course of many. It’s not really a main dish. So there would be a starter before it (Prima), a meat course after the pasta, and then dessert.
@@user-ef3vu8jy7c Not here in the states, I don't even think it'd be enough for a first course but then again lots of folks from different countries always question our dietary habits and say that our portions are out of control. We'd eat 3-400 grams of Spaghetti and Sauce pretty easily over here for takeout or at a restaurant and that might be underestimating it just a touch even though I guess a traditional proper serving would technically be about 150-200 grams I suppose.
My bf and I are planning a trip to Italy next, have been planning for a couple years now but covid has put a hold on it. We are definitely planning on visiting the springs and Pitigliano while there because of your video :)
Cascate del Mulino, Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana...hidden gems in the same few kilometers🤗
@@valentinasalvati2139 Thank you for the tip Valentina!
@@stephanieb3915 my pleasure!!🤗 the area between the north of Lazio and the south of Tuscany is so underrated, but is actually one of my favourite in Italy. Would you have a look to Monte Argentario on the coast (Cala del gesso is the best beach) and Civita di Bagnoregio + Montefiascone? You won't regret it😉
@@valentinasalvati2139 We are planning on renting a car and spending four days in the Tuscany region so we may have to check out the spots you mentioned. We prefer to visit less known hidden gem places.
@@stephanieb3915 I agree, you have literaly TONS of non-turistic places all over the country which worth to be visited (like all the ones we where talking about). I hope you have an amazing journey!!🤗
Ps. If you need any other advice let me know, I visited a lot of villages between Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio😉
Omg we were only just in Tuscany last month but Saturnia was MUCH busier when we were there! Nonetheless, we highly recommend it 😁
whenever i think "why are they going to this place? it's so mainstream" BAM you guys come up with amazing stuff like that and now I need to go to Italy even though I have been there twice already
Loved the place
Another great post guys enjoy beautiful Italy
Y’all looked like you were having so much fun. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video!
Another beautiful scenery video. And you two are so cute.....
I always have sorbet ice because I can't handle lactose. My favorite taste of the sorbet is Limoncello. We have an italian icecreamshop in my city in the Netherlands. They have tons of different flavors. Sadly it's closed for the winter. You guys are pretty lucky with the weather. I was as well in Spain late September early October. Normally it's about 25 celcius, I had almost 30 celcius every day I was there and lot's of sun. I always go in the early fall, the weather is milder but still nice and warm. I hope you have a great stay in Italy. Fantastic country
I was planning a larger wedding...never mind Im eloping in Tuscany :)
Oh my gosh the thermal baths look so beautiful 😍 how wonderful, the pebbles would definitely hurt your feet. I love your videos.
OMG guys!! I’m from Italy and I went there few months ago.. it’s magical 🥰🥰🥰
Notification gang stopping by to show my support for May favorite CZcams channel are you guys are awesome keep them coming ❤️❤️
Thanks for the support! ❤️
Oh my that opening shot guys! 👌#whitewiney YES! 🤣- Trevor
😊
That looks like you had a lovely time. I’m not a truffle fan either. We stayed in a hotel near St Ives in Cornwall many years ago and the “award winning chef” put truffles on everything, even a seafood terrine!
Gotta put Tuscany on my list now!
You do not get much better than north Italy with their white wines and food:). Lake Como is worth a visit .
Been to all kinds of hot springs, in Japan outdoors, indoors, by rivers, in the ocean. Would love to try this one.
I haven't been to Italy since university: Florence, Sienna, so nice. But next time it won't be as a penniless student :)
You guys are amazing! I can't wait to make it to Europe someday (hopefully soon.) Until then I will enjoy it vicariously through your great videos.✌
You guys should definitely go to Malta ! You would love it
Thanks! you two are wonderful.
You got some amazing footage. Beautiful.
Thanks! 😊
Wow, das sieht ja superschön aus. Waren schon oft in der Gegend, aber
beim nächsten Maremma-Urlaub werden wir hier auf jeden Fall
vorbeischauen.
Thanks for sharing. Great video and GOD bless . 👍
I have always wanted to discover Tuscany! LOVED this video looked like so much fun.
0:41 Well, I already think you did! It looks so beautiful, so soon!
I’d love to go to the springs! They looked absolutely beautiful but the gelato and pasta would have my heart! I’d definitely go there to eat my weight in it! 🥰😂
This is a dream of mine to go to there. How awesome you got to go! Good to know about wearing water shoes there.
Love watching you guys, I worry for you, always be careful.
Eric pronouncing the pasta dish name in italian, literally dying 🤣
😅
The places your guys go is soooooo cool.
Allison your hair is gorgeous and Eric I personally think the goatee is cool. I was just in Tuscany this past summer. So beautiful. Cheers.
The red worms killed it for me 😩
A family wedding took place recently from there..)
Wow..beautiful place!!
Those thermal pools are stunning!!
I hope you'll be traveling to Switzerland. We stayed in Interlaken and it's stunning. I also dream of this particular restaurant we visited for dinner where they have the longest cooked shanks. Sadly we didn't get them as you have to order the day before
My heart is breaking its so Dry like the Paste. Lol u guys are so positive.
Amazing video, loving the journey so far.
Amazing
REALLY cool opener!
Great video 👍. We took Pitigliano out of our itinerary, now we have another reason to come back to Italy. 10:04 I don’t think they put butter in the pasta in Tuscany or anywhere in Italy, the creaminess comes from the starchy water where the pasta was previously cooked
Such a big plate !
Love from karachi 😍😍
Your travel vlogs are always amazing😍😍😍
looks beautiful check out the hot springs in mornington peninisula next time your back in oz love italy can't wait to go back and visit tuscuny tuscuny looks beautiful
Really loving your videos. You inspire me to do my own. I try at least
The entrees had been sitting for awhile b4 being served to you. They should've been remade. I worked in an Italian restaurant as a server for 4 years. They learned that by covering up the plate with a bowl keeps the pasta moist and delicious. Idc what others think. It's true.
I have driven around the Monte Argentario Island that Porto Ercole is located on. I would recommend that if you do drive that it is an all terrain vehicle as the road around half of the island is fully mountainous and not tarmac-ed plus the road skirts the cliff edge so not for the faint hearted. I managed to do it in a Peugeot 5008 and that was a silly vehicle for the road surface.
My word yalls videos are just gorgeous
OMG ERIK!! You are the luckiest man on earth. Allison is gorgeous and so funny and sweet. I have a mild crush on her. HEHEHE. Hope you two are having fun. Love you both!! Brendon
amazing video, as always! ❤️
Oh dear Eric, When will we be getting rid of that silly little goatee?😂 much love to you guys ❤
Well I think it looks perfectly fine!
If you’re looking for some ideas on where to visit in Tuscany, go to Montepulciano. Also, years ago we took a wine tour with a local guy and loved it. We have gone back to Tuscany several times and have done several different tours, wine tastings, Tuscan lunch at an old castle, etc. anyway look him up at dariocastagno.com/meet-dario-wine-tours-in-tuscany/
It‘s of course a matter of taste, but imho the Brunello made around Montalcino is the best Italian red. Most Tuscan reds (including Chianti) are made of the San Giovese grapes, best in Montalcino.
We usually put sugar in the coffee
Love the video ty
Great vlog
@7:25 pinky up! lol!!
I love your travelogues. BTW the Italian 'gl' always stumps us English-speakers: we want to pronounce the 'g' as a hard consonant, like our words 'English' or 'haggling'. But it is instead like the 'll" in words such as 'brilliant' and 'million'- so it's pronounced Pitilliano. Likewise, Alison's 'tagliatelle ( at 9.45) is pronounced 'Talliatelle' etc etc without exception!
Like it! But... Monte Argentario (where Porto Ercole is) isn't an island. It's a peninsula! :D
Bella Bellissima...!!!
Tuscany is gorgeous, my best friend is from there. Great content y'all!!
Okay.. So about those little red worms, do they "invade your body?" Like your mouth or ears or down below??? Serious question.
Sorry if I offended anyone. Just wondering.
I was concerned as well and did some online research. It says that the red worms in those springs are harmless but the spa empties all of its waste water, including bath water and toilet water, into the springs. I have always made it a rule not to swim or dive in freshwater because it can contain deadly parasites. A young girl recently died in my state after jumping into a river. The parasite traveled through her nasal passages to her brain and she died in a few days. Certain parasites target certain organs - brain, lungs, liver, kidneys. The doctors said that if she had just swallowed the river water, she'd be alive today because the enzymes in our stomach are strong enough to kill a lot of parasites. I only swim in the ocean - salt water. If you want to swim in rivers, it's best to wear nose plugs and even then parasites can still enter the body. Not worth the risk.
@@tiamia7139 oh my word that's terrifying! 😱😱 so sad people have died from that.
@@elizabethw.454 it will make you think twice before you jump into a river or lake. I water skied in younger years on the Potomac River and on the nearby Mattawoman Creek, which was great for trick skiing because it was smooth as glass. It was also inhabited by many, many (poisonous) water snakes. That was way back in the 60s and we were so focused on the snakes that we never thought about parasites!!
@@tiamia7139 same!! God bless her family. Definitely not worth the risk. Maybe just put our feet in if we are ever blessed enough to to Tuscany. 🙏
Those red worms are nothing more than lake flies in their larval stage - absolutely harmless under all aspects both in their adult and larval form while also being an important source of food for the local fauna. They're also an incredibly important bioindicator used to monitor climate changes and the presence of possible pollutants in the water (which would otherwise kill the larvae).
The real problem of those hot springs are tourists, unfortunately - they crowd it year round and some of them regrettably don't respect the place at all, leaving it in a sorry state. The provincial government had to really step up efforts recently to try and keep the springs in their original state.
So if you ever end up here in Tuscany I'd definitely recommend visiting them and Saturnia in general, but maybe skip the swim if the springs are already overcrowded. And I'm sure I don't need to say this, but please respect the place and don't litter 🙏
Woow awsome intro!! 🤩
planning a trip to Italy in Oct 2022, loving your videos and good intel... I have a specific question that I'm hoping you can help with. we arrive in Rome, plan is to take the coastal train to Cinque Terre and then rent a car out of Spezia to head to our Tuscany rental where we plan to use as base and visit places around it....then, we head to the italian alps for a few days then to Milan where we fly out back to the states. The trouble I'm having is the rental car ... I see in your videos that you rented a car... any intel you can share on that piece. Who did you rent from, what to look out for, how was the driving, did you find it difficult to navigate the small roads, any other pieces of info you can give me will be most helpful
you guys are getting so close to 300k subscribers!!
If I may give you Just two tips for next time you come here in Italy : 1) tray to take a cono- gelato ( ice-cream in a cone w/out spoon ) instead of a cup - gelato and start licking before melting , we Italians prefer the cono-gelato because at the end you eat the crusty cono along with the gelato. SO FAR I DON’T REMEMBER SEEING A TOURIST WITH A CONO- GELATO IN HAND 😂.
2 ) please don’t go up with the fork to separate the spaghettis, simply take one or two spaghetti rolling the fork down the plate and if you take too much just repeat the operation , you’ll probably will come at the same conclusion of us Italian : SPAGHETTIS DON’T NEED TO BE CUT 😂
Ciao from Marche , IT
