Thanks for watching! Stay safe and please be well!
I like watching and learning the ways the start of the journals happen. this is where I really learn a lot. Thank you.
Beautiful journal. The gold and blue will be elegant. I got a mammogram notification yesterday and when I called to book , the first appointment was for February 2024! 2019 was my last. Then the world shifted under us all. Soon time for migration to the island!
Wendy I love your videos! I discovered you years ago on Pinterest. You made a cute circle tuck with a little reindeer, and it introduced me to CZcams videos on making journals! So I am one of those people you inspired! Thank you for all the ideas you share with us ❤
I finished my first journal. It was a gift for a dear friend. She loved it. Every day she sends me a picture of a journal entry. Now I want to make another for myself using a book cover. I just love your videos. You are a great inspirational teacher.
Thanks so so much Audrey ❤❤
And we're off on a new journey... always a delight, Wendy. Hello to Miss Gabby Midgie. Smiles, Carol
Thanks so much sweet friend ❤❤❤
Hi Wendy!! Your journal is just stunning!!! So fun to see it all come together. Thank you so so much for using my kit in this pretty journal.. I have been such a long time fan of your creations! 🩷🩷🩷
Oh thanks so much Heather! And I am a huge fan of your creativity ❤️❤️❤️
Love the old books.
Me too ❤❤
Love the blue color of the book and fabric Wendy . Can"t wait to see the end result . 😊💕
Hi Wendy, I have watched every video and have enjoyed each one, they have given me so much inspiration over the years. I remember making the ring bound journals years ago and I loved the idea so much that I made two. Thank you so much. Love Bella. Xx
Gorgeous fabric! This will be beautiful! Thank you for sharing your process.
Good afternoon Wendy, love this thank you for sharing, the fabric is lovely. On to the next video ❤❤ have a lovely evening hugs to you 🤗🙏
3:25 Seam ripper!! Great idea. So much easier and less overall damaging to pages you want to keep.
Thank you for teaching us how to put together a soft spine. I will definitely do tha on the next journal I make. So lovely
I'm glad your leaving the original end papers. They were so cool as is. Looking forward to following your progress..
I learned a lot each time I watch your videos😊
Thanks so much Janet ❤️❤️
Hello Wendy, love the book cover and fabric you chose, so beautiful. TFS
I enjoy watching you work and appreciate seeing your process. When I have done a fabric spine on a hardcover book I've always seen them. I wasn't sure if gluing would be enough. I will now give this method a try. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you again for a clear and easy to understand video. 😊🇬🇧
You are most welcome ❤️❤️
As I’m watching you I’m thinking I had better get busy on finishing the journal for my Amish friend... I’m her “Auntie Granny”.. she just turned 15...it’s a cookbook journal...Bee themed... but in a quandary of how to do the spine...will figure it out.. hopefully today...And yes am another subbie who you inspire!!!!.. Will be waiting to see how you complete this Journal and what you are going to paint!!! You truly have been blessed as an Artist!!! God wasn’t quite that generous w/ me tho... but have been a lifelong art enthusiast in so many areas ...So keep on inspiring us!!!!.... Love and Blessings 😻🧑🏻🦰💜
Thanks so much Lynnette, you are so kind ❤❤
This is going to be stunning. I am getting ready to make my first journal!
Your videos and projects are truly inspiring. Thank you ❤

This is going to be a stunner!

Thank you for doing this tutorial. It was very helpful.
Great video Wendy. Thanks for sharing. Hugs. 💞
Thank you 😊, l really like seeing you make journals, I don't buy kits they you do, but everyone you use is beautiful, I have so many paper pads, it take me so long to make one journal book 😢 l don't cut straight 😅😅, but l keep working 😅. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us 😊
You are most welcome ❤❤
Love your choices! ❤ it’s going to be beautiful!
Wendy thank you so much for this awesome video. I have learned so much from your videos. This will be another beautiful journal. TFS💕🌴
You are so welcome Annette, I really appreciate you ❤❤
Ohhh thank you for this. Now I am off to hunt for old books at my local Antique Mall. I already have one and thought it was a lost cause but not anymore. And I need to run to the upholstery shop and look for gorgeous materials. Ohh and I bet I could also look for cushions at my local thrift store or Good Will. Yay!!! Thank you Wendy for all you do, I anxiously await the next one.😊
You are so welcome, also check for upholstery sample books at the thrift store…I’m hoping I will find one, one of these day ❤❤
I do almost the same thing when I start a journal that uses an old book cover. I would like to mention if it's okay, When an old cover is not flat, that really bugs me. LOL So, just to let others know, if they feel the same way about that curve.... I put the cover or covers in my book press for about 24 hours, it works great. I made my own book press just using wood I bought from a store such as Home Depo or any store that will cut the wood for you. Then I sanded the edges all around, Hubby drilled some holes and I put screws and wing nuts. I got the idea from SeaLemon on CZcams. Hope this helps anyone that may need it. Also if you don't want to go to the trouble of making a book press, (I use mine all the time) you could just place a heavy pot or anything heavy on the covers for the same amount of time. :) I love the fabrics you find! Where do you find them? I rarely find the tapestry beauties you find, Love this book cover and how it matches that beautiful fabric, and LOVE those end papers. :) PS, I love Ruby and Pearl. I have a lot of Heather's kits and love them all. And when you mention about the inspiration, I want to add I had not done much fabic covered journals, or lace embellishments on my covers, but your video's have really inspired me to develop a new style, and I love it! Thank you Wendy.
They look nice. Blessings and Hugs 🤗
what can I say - beautiful my friend xx
I love 💕 the way you made the spine 👌 I’ve been afraid to take a book apart because the spine making seems so difficult. But I really like your way. TFS 😉
Go for it Patricia ❤️❤️
Love it Wendy. I've come over from Roxy Creations.
Welcome to the channel Pat❤️
Wendy, I'm so grateful you did this right now. I see I have complicated things in the past. You are the most prolific journalmaker I've seen, so uncomplicated would be good. Golden Dress is the name of this beautiful kit. I made a tall one and landscape using it, so inspiring. Seeing it again, reminds me to use parts of it again! I didn't hear you mention who made the blue damask-like pages. They don't look familiar, but I'm guessing Rachel or Jarf- do tell, please.
They are from Artymaze, her blue tones kit. Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
Beautiful journal thanks Wendy love from Canada
Thanks Joyce, another Canadian ❤❤
HI Wendy. I rarely make a soft cover, thanks for reminding me about them, and the demo. I haven't read the other comments yet, someone probably mentioned that you did not use the original first anchor paper you choose to match the grey marble end paper. I like the one you used too. Looking forward to the creation of the yellow dress lady.
❤love everything thanks 😊
Oh Wendy, I am so excited to follow along. Thank you for all you teach us. You're one amazing person. ❤
Thanks so much Jen ❤❤
So excited! I have this kit but haven't used it yet. Hi to Midge.
Hi back to you ❤❤
She’s going to be an absolute beauty Wendy! And lovely to hear from Miss Midge too! LOL Our son has a new puppy…a white Swiss Shepherd. Cayde is just a delight! Beautiful boy and already stolen my heart 😊❤️🇦🇺xxx

Great video, Wendy. I’m glad that you used those pretty end papers and I love your fabric choice for the outer spine!
Ms. Wendy it is an honor to see your videos, to learn how to do such beautiful things. Your kindness goes beyond anything you can imagine. Your readiness to sit down and filme a video for all of us, is our pleasure. Thank you só much, God bless you and your family. Sending my love from Portugal ❤️❤️
What a beautiful compliment, thank you ❤❤
Yay! Was wanting you to do this. Thank for taking us along to showing us how to. You are such an inspiration and a joy to watch and you leave all the guess work out of the process. Looking forward to the rest of this series. Enjoy your weekend. ❤
Thanks so much Chris ❤
I’ve never made a soft spine, but your video has now convinced me to give it a try. Can’t wait to see how your journal will come together!
You will love the process ❤❤❤
You ALWAYS make it look so effortless, love it so much.
Hi Wendy! This is perfect timing. I just purchased several books and now I have to decide whether to reinforce the original spine or create a new one. I have several so I can do both. What a great way to save those covers where the spine is missing too. Thank you for showing us. Sending big higs💜💜💜Vernie
Thanks for watching Vernie, right back atcha ❤❤
Wendy could you please explain the ‘anchor’ pages.. ? I have been following your channel for such a long time and love all your videos. Big thank you for all you do for your followers. Big Hello from Australia ❤
It’s just a name I call my first page of each signature. I like it to be firmer than just regular paper. Thanks for asking ❤
Thanks ❤
❤❤❤
💜
I don't know who all requested to see this process videos, but I'm sure glad they did. Wendy, do you only glue 2 digi prints back to back for the anchor pages/signature covers or for all the rest of the digi prints you use in a journal? And, if I may ask - where do you get your upholstery fabrics? Thanks so much for sharing this process, am looking forward to the rest of the series. Hello to you also Miss Midge! Take care and God bless. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Yes Becky I only glue 2 pages together. My upholstery is from a local store ❤️❤️
@@WendysJournalAdventure Thank you Wendy. God bless. Becky B
Wendy wouldn't it be easier to print the two pages on light weight cardstock, front and back instead of glueing them?
It would, I find my printer doesn’t print the image as crisp on card stock ❤
Wendy, I am not sure how wide to make my spine for three signatures. Did you mention this in your vedio? If so I must of miss it. Please let me know. Thank you.
I make mine 2 inches, thanks ❤️❤️
Thank you@@WendysJournalAdventure
how wide is your book? Thank you
Spine or cover?
@@WendysJournalAdventure The spine and then the cover. This is going to make a wonderful book and I can't wait to start. The book cover I chose is 8" by not quite 5 1/2 " thanks again for you beautiful that you share with us. Lise
