NOTE: On the Seiko Monster bracelet, the collar inserts into the outer link. On the modern 62Mas / MM200, the collar goes into the middle link. This difference was driving me nuts until I watched enough videos to see it both ways.
Your comment helped me resize my spb143! I had blown out 2 of the collars wondering why it didn’t fit on the end, then following your step by putting in the middle link made the process a breeze!
Best comment! Pulling my hair out trying to resize Seiko Superior. Seller had resized and didn’t notice where collar feel out of when I separated bracelet to add links. After this bit of knowledge, resizing took two minutes
Super nice bracelet vise. Just used 2 push pin tools to adjust mine. But when do it to a bazillion watches all the time it must be pretty sweet to have the appropriate tools
Reminds me I need to remove link on my sabr033 bracelet. I just saw a watch I didn't even knew existed, very cool retro design. The Citizen ani digi temp. Beam design. Hand painted face
Granted once you know how, and you have the right tools, its not the worst task in the world. But its still a major PITA, and there are better solutions to holding bracelets together. But good video sir.
Pin and collar is not as hard as people think. I have done them numerous times without any special tool. I just use a regular push pin with a watch block. The trick is to hold the bracelet vertically with your hand so that the collar will not fall out. Once the collar "sits" in the bracelet, attach the connecting links to it and insert the watch pin through the hole. Once the pin locks in place with the collar, use the push pin to drive it further in so that it is flush. Done. I can do this faster than using a special tool.
Does this one has the collar on the end of the link or in the middle portion? I bought a King Samurai STO and need to resize it, but I’m not sure whether the collar goes in the middle but or end bit for the section. Thanks
Is this a device for people with three hands? You made a video about pin and collar before, without this fancy tool but with wise words from a man who knows what he is doing. With that I sized the bracelet of my SRP 315. Don‘t need this tool anymore...
He still managed to make it slip and scratch multiple times 😅 Its inevitable. The only real solution is to just tape off the bracelet. Adds like a minute to the process, but super worth it imo :)
I know Seiko has that collar on different links depending on the model, but that's the first one I've seen with the collar on the outside of a link. What watch is that bracelet on?
Hey Rob, what do the little arrows on the bottom of the bracelet links mean? Is that indicating the side that has the collar? Or is it the direction the pin should be pushed in?
I don't mind their pin and collar system where the collars are inserted in between the two links as opposed to the ends in this video. Also, I hate how they make these tools so expensive.
I learned this the hard way today! Just got a seiko sumo and am blown away by the absolutely terrible quality of the bracelet. I mean c’con seiko! Any idea how to get replacement pin and collar parts?
@@matthewherrmann474 Best bet is to take it into a Seiko shop. My Sumo bracelet has fallen apart 3 times now whilst out. It's driving me mad. Seiko don't call it a collar, they call it a pipe. I have a monster bracelet with spare links so I used them from that but it's still driving me mad. You'd think for £750 you'd have a bracelet that stays on your wrist.
So Seiko now wants you to spend $90 so you can size your bracelet ingenious idea Seiko. One more reason they have fallen out of favor with me. I have owned them for over 60 years but no more.
LOL.. when the sizing process is *that* awkward - even with a specialized tool - then perhaps you should come up with a better system or simply switch to screw-links... :D

I don't understand why they placed the collars in the end part instead of the middle. It's like Seiko just wants you to purchase another took from them. I don't see an advantage to this... nothing looks any different from the outside. This just looks user-unfriendly and is another reason why I won't be looking at a Seiko for my next sub-$500 watch. Besides the fact that I like bezels and chapter rings to line up.
That's the first time I've ever seen a pin and collar system with the collar on the outside of the link.

Baby tuna same outside link then push pin opposite of arrow where you put the collar. PAIN IN BUTT
Mind blown away by your fancy Seiko pin vise.🤯

That looks a nice tool I’m perfectly happy with pin and collar system. Bit of a faff but when it’s done it’s all nice and secure.
This is a much important Video for all Seiko Fans 😬👍🏼.
wow, I was not aware of this Seiko tool, I was using simpler ones (and not as good). thank you for the tip!
I thought that I lost 2 collars and had no idea where? then I realized they were on my tool
Oh man I need this

Seiko maintains that their pin and collar system is the most secure. They may be right.
Seiko bracelets are absolute garbage.

Thanks Rob 👌🏾👍🏾
Many thanks!!😊😊
Confession. I screwed up the pin and collar on my save the oceans samurai so bad I binned it and put on a strap code, and that’s a beauty.

@@VictordaMatta Sorry, not sure.
ok.. love the going off screen part so I can't see where the collar was.
Excellent

Tools like this are the best for us clumsy mofos that scratch everything by hand.

@@HisMajesty99 Naa just gotta screw the left thing in. I'm like why didn't he do that LOL
Didn't realize there was a tool, first time I did it I stabbed my thumb nail with my springbar tool and it broke off inside
They're not cheap tho. The S-212 case holder is 100 bucks or better. But they're nice if you do regular repairs n mods.

I’ve got a Turtle bracelet that’s like this. It’s odd.

Rob, I think with pin n collar you always follow the direction of the arrow when taking out and back in. But someone please correct me if I am wrong?
Yes.
Hey Rob, what do the little arrows on the bottom of the bracelet links mean? Is that indicating the side that has the collar? Or is it the direction the pin should be pushed in?
Arrows point to the direction of removal, installing you do rolled end toward arrow.
@@RandomRobReviews Thanks!!
Its better to put the collar in position before pushing the pin in.
The worst most infuriating bracelet resizing i have ever experienced. Wouldnt have purchased my Seiko had I had known.
Literally ruins the entire watch experience to have this collar system. Either just pins that squeeze in without a collar or screws
its full metal ?
I could have sworn that my Seikos have the collar on the middle section of the links?
Yeah me too
Yes mine too
I don't mind their pin and collar system where the collars are inserted in between the two links as opposed to the ends in this video. Also, I hate how they make these tools so expensive.
I thought of buying one of this tool too until I found out the hefty price tag. I might as well get myself another Seiko 5 instead.
I size my bracelets with one tool. A corkboard pushpin/tack, that's all. I will forever avoid bracelets with pin and collar. It's just not worth it.
Same here. Seiko bracelets especially I never keep.
God forbid it takes you 10 minutes to size your bracelet once

If a bracelet doesn't have screw pins, I swap it out.
A lot of guys do that. This tool works on screws too.
