@@ardaerenceran2003 Yeah she's holding the whole thing together, I agree. And I like watching Sophie Okonedo too but she's barely in it. If only they had tried a little harder with the main cast. Rand is fine, and I like Perrin too. The girls not so much maybe.
I just think its amazing that she grasps all of the characters without really putting in an effort its almost unfair to other actors . She has such a deep connection and understanding of art and storytelling what an amazing woman we are lucky
Definitely! I’m happy with the majority of the cast, but Rosamund just IS Moiraine, it’s fun to watch!
Hopefully season two steps the writing up a notch and we’ll have a killer show on hand. 🤞
Without really putting in effort? She might heartily disagree with you on that. Just because she is able to shift from one to another without showing the difficulty doesn't mean that she didn't necessarily have to spend months honing them to begin with.

I have 8 hours left in The Dragon Reborn. I do love the voice actors who did the original version, however, I don't think I can continue until Rosamund completes book four. I love her talent so much. I will miss the characters until then. Congratulations Rosamund, you are a wonderful talent.

Hands down…one of THE best narrators I’ve heard. She really kept my attention and made me love listening to “The Wheel of Time”. I love how much thought and dedication she put into these characters. ❤
Best narration of an audiobook I've ever come across--I often forget I'm listening to one reader. It's so wonderful not to be distracted by the narrator!

I loved her narration of the first book, so I’m not exactly surprised, but Light, her dedication and versatility still makes me goggle. Love how she just slides from voice to voice and makes it look easy. I know just enough to know it definitely isn’t!

She did such an amazing job, I'd honestly love for her to do the whole series. She doesn't just read the book, she performs it. I'd rank her with Jim Dale and his work with the Harry Potter Series.
I worked professionally as a voice actress for awhile. She’s a tour de force reading these books. All the characters sound really different and all very believable. To do this gigantic series with its hundreds of characters and so many varied accents and sounds all from just ONE incredible actress… someone give her a Grammy. Like, now.

I started reading/listening to the wheel of time after seeing season one of the show and enjoying Moraines character and the lore behind the show. I bought the Rosamond pike version ignorantly not knowing there were other options. It was amazing. Her range and accents were so captivating. I was so bummed when I bought book two and it was different people narrating. Having listened to all of the wheel of time and cosmere books this year I have come to appreciate mike and Kate for sure But I still very strongly prefer Rosamund pikes narration of the eye of the world and I'm so tickled that she is doing more of the books.
It is always very cool when actors care enough about the roles and the story to really dig in deep. This is great stuff
Her narration of the audiobooks is fantastic. You can see the love and effort she's put in. She really makes the characters come alive. She's only narrated the first 3 so far and I think she's beginning to see the richness and grandeur of Robert Jordan's story, something that Season 1 of the TV show wasn't able to effectively capture.

Holy crap, her voice acting is incredible. I am now going to listen to her version as I’ve been putting it off since I just finished my second listen of the series last year.
Also, Mat is my favorite character from the books and I always related to him as the trickster, but can I just say I LOVE what they did with his family and parents in the show? Truly. I grew up extremely poor with parents that were addicts and lived a white trash lifestyle and now I see representation in him even more. The defense mechanism of making jokes and having that dark humor and nihilism. Wish Barney hadn’t left but excited to see Donals interpretation too.

I'm really enjoying the audiobooks with Rosamund's voice. I actually started them before watching the first season recently, and it was perfect because I already knew Morraine's voice. The series felt new but at the same time familiar.
And how she can talk all the characters, reminds me of Jim Dale.

Yep. Went ahead and picked up Madame Pike's reads of EoTW and TGH on Audible while watching this, and I bet I wasn't the only one. God help me, I idolize this woman.
I was positively surprised how i enjoyed Rosamund reading book one after already listening to Kate and Michael version multiple times. I thought I would have some kind of nostalgia, but no. She's done well.
I have been holding back on listening to RP narration of the series, but this interview may have turned me around. I am on my eighth cycle of Kramer/Reading versions, so maybe I have time in my life to listen to RP.

I had heard a sample of her reading The Eye of The World, and wow, hearing her go through all those characters is amazing. There are 2,787 named characters in the Wheel of Time series (granted not all feature heavily), but hearing Rosamund Pike jump through that selection makes me think that there's at least 200 distinct characters that she could create with ease!
When I've read the books I might go back and listen to the audiobooks (by the time I've read them all, she may well have done audiobooks for the first half of the series at least!)
That was great to watch she is such a talent. So much hard work goes into getting all those voices and accents. Hats off to her I’ve never bought an audio book but this has got me excited to listen to her narration

I hope she narrates all of them. I love the originals for the most part, but her voice for the dark one is absolutely terrifying. I’ve never been more immersed in those stories.
I can't quite grasp it, it feels like the voice and text of Moraine are very much how I imagined Galadriel in the first book of LOTR. Cate did an amazing job in the movies but when Rosamund vocalises Moraine, it just gives her a sound of simultaneously being grounded in the real but also transcendant. ❤ Thank you to all the OG WoT readers for putting up with our noob fumbling of concepts, many of us are finding our footing in the books. We were brought here by the concept of the series and I hope it brings more watchers to the books.

Granted it has been a long time since I read TEotW, but I don't remember Trollocs speaking in their own tongue that the reader would hear.
I enjoyed the video. I am glad that Rosamund is so enthusiastic about the WoT project. It helps when the actors and actresses are genuine when they hype their projects. It comes across they enjoy it and that makes me more interested (or if it would if I was not already a fan)
I love the books and remember the shock when Robert Jordan passed and the promise of their completion kept me anxiously awaiting them.
I am not a fan of the amazon series - for many reasons, but I am a fan of Rosamund Pike.

The audiobook with Rosamund Pike is a real work of art. I wish I could face her in real life and tell her this: "Thank you so much for giving us, giving me, this audiobook. It has given me so much joy. You are brilliant and the effort you put into this has really moved me. Really, thank you so much." People often say they wish the speaker of a youtube video read their comment, and I never understood that before - well, I do now.
i know how you feel! first artwork in a long time where i've wanted to personally thank the artist. she brought my childhood and adolescent memories to life. i just love how she threw herself into it.
I'm absolutely loving Rosamund's version of the audiobooks- her narration is downright brilliant & amazing to listen to!
The production value is great with 100% improvement compared to the originals & the second best part for me personally- no confusion about which characters are actually in the story & which are not as there isn't 2 different narrators pronouncing the same characters names entirely differently- not fun when the character list is already vast enough & a number of names are already somewhat similar 🤦♀
It's super clear who each character is in the Rosamund versions, so I'm hoping she continues to narrate all the books.

What an incredible challenge for Rosamund, I tend not to do audio books because I invariably go to sleep listening to them, but I do love to read and multiple novel story lines are my favorite. I am at the moment into "The Shadow Rising", book 4 of 'The Wheel of time', with what? 10 or 11 books to go. So, if Rosamund is going to narrate all of the novels in this series she will be working for a while. I'm still waiting for the second season of "Wheel of Time" to be released on 'Prime'. So different from the books but then when is a dramatization ever the same as the source material.
The show in it's current form is valid as a parody of the books.
I kinda wish she had more control over this show. I think it would be much more like I hoped.

I loved the Michael Kramer, Kate Reading version. Rosamund's audio is wonderful, almost like a renewal. Her Seanchan is great.

I'm half way through the Great Hunt and these are the BEST Audio books I've ever heard! Rose is just INCREDIBLE at this! I hope and pray she gets to do them all! I'll buy them all twice if I have to!

Pike has coaches and training the original narrators didn't have so they really can't be compared. What she does emotionally what gets me. I don't want to sound silly but yup, she makes me laugh and cry more. She really moves me.

Naomi Todd's extrapolation of the 'Old Tongue' is probably the main thing that impressed me the most about the Wheel of Time show. It sounded beautiful -- and cohesive.

I read the first book while simultaneously listening to her narration and now I am finishing the second book and I don’t know what I am going to do until she releases the 4th audiobook. She is just magical, she can play all characters sooooo differently. Seriously Ros is incredibly talented.

I cant even listen to the other WoT books because Pike did such an amazing job that the other ones are just not the same. This has been my favorite audio book ever. I could only hope she’d read them all but that has to be extremely time consuming and now I know it’s a LOT more work than I thought! I will just re listen to the first many times!
Im in love with rosamund pike. she is so amazing! Im so glad she is in my favorite book series of all time. and even more so, how active and how much she is doing for the book, the community, and the subject matter as a whole. This woman is just perfect!
I have to admit, that the first audiobook version sounded so flat in the beginning, but with time I've grown to love the Kate Reading version. When Rosamund started hers, I had my doubts, but she truly does a brilliant job to bring the characters into life. She's acting with her voice on such a scale, every character sounds different, it's amazing. I always had a picture of her in a certain (elegant, cool beauty) role, but she's got like a 100 different sides and I'm glad she has shown them. ❤
She has a perfect voice for audio book work. I prefer English voices over American voices for fantasy but not sure why. Perhaps because3 the American voice is such a young accent comparatively and the regional British dialects work so well to convey class and character.

I mean, I already knew Rosamund Pike was awesome before I watched this video but after watching this I am even more convinced.
I was amazed at all the different ways she read these characters. I most especially loved Loial. You can hear his bigness and slowness in the way she reads him. Her voice is in her lower register as his whisper is sometimes described as a low buzzing of bees, you can also hear his youth (90yrs) in the way she reads him. I really love it.

Not heard Rosamund narration yet, but I did like Kate Reading and Michael Kramer version, heard them with other books that I love so hearing those two is a bit like comming home. With the lovely comments its now on the wish list.
