It’s Jan 2024. I think this chapter is a prophecy that’s playing out Right Now” it is the Lord that battles this enemy, not Alexander the Great. All the players are currently at war.

Here we have a prophecy one from the Old Testament and two from the New Testament. If you notice the book of Luke does not match the first two his says go ahead and get 1 donkey instead of a donkey and its colt. To understand this better let's break it down. In the amplified bible a donkey is a beast of burden. So what Jesus was saying is go ahead of me and get me a beast of burden no one ever used before I need it to enter my kingdom. This is a two fold prophecy Jesus actually entered his temple on a beast of burden and used the Gentiles. Jesus also could have said it like this go ahead of me and get me the Gentiles the ones no one ever used before I need them to enter my temple because I can't use my own people they are dead in religion. So we see the fulfillment of the Zechariah prophecy looking back now. But what doesn't work here is Zechariah and Matthew it says he came in on a donkey and the foal child of the donkey. So the singular donkey prophecy has been fulfilled the colt of the donkey has not. Jesus couldn't use his own people dead in religion the first time to enter his temple, he used Gentiles those outside the religious system. The foal of the donkey is what Jesus will use to enter his kingdom the second time because the church is now dead in religion. So again he will use those outside the religious system for the second coming. We also see in Matthew those outside the temple recognized him and praised him as King and those who should have recognized him said who is this? In revelation we see the return of the true gospel of Christ and when it comes the people dead in religion will not even recognize its going on. This is taking place right now!
Zechariah 9:9 King James Version (KJV)
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Matthew 21 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King
21 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.3 If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
    5
    “Say to Daughter Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”[a]
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on.8 A very large crowd spread their cloakson the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna[b] to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”[c]
    “Hosanna[d] in the highest heaven!”
10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Luke 19:28-40 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
    Jesus Enters Jerusalem
28 When Jesus had finished saying all this, he went on toward Jerusalem. 29 As he was getting near Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples on ahead. 30 He told them, “Go into the next village, where you will find a young donkey that has never been ridden. Untie the donkey and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks why you are doing that, just say, ‘The Lord[a] needs it.’”
32 They went off and found everything just as Jesus had said. 33 While they were untying the donkey, its owners asked, “Why are you doing that?”
34 They answered, “The Lord[b] needs it.”
35 Then they led the donkey to Jesus. They put some of their clothes on its back and helped Jesus get on. 36 And as he rode along, the people spread clothes on the road[c] in front of him. 37 When Jesus was starting down the Mount of Olives, his large crowd of disciples were happy and praised God because of all the miracles they had seen. 38 They shouted,
“Blessed is the king who comes
in the name of the Lord!
Peace in heaven
 and glory to God.”
39 Some Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, make your disciples stop shouting!”
40 But Jesus answered, “If they keep quiet, these stones will start shouting.”
