The prophet Zechariah tells us more things about the First and Second Coming of Jesus Christ than all the other Minor Prophets combined. The main theme of his letter is the hope and encouragement we have in knowing that our Messiah is coming… as Meek Messiah, as Suffering Savior, and as Coming King. What a blessing it is going to be!!
Meekness isn't weakness, but strength in disguise.
My favorite part of zechariah is in chapter 6 when he takes a man who is a priest, named Joshua/Yeshua (Jesus), and makes a CROWN OF GOLD AND SILVER, sets him on a throne, and crowns him King and priest. Something that no Jew would EVER EVER do! This was obviously prophetic.
Then Zechariah says, "BEHOLD THE MAN whose name is THE BRANCH!"
Which of course is a title for the Messiah.
He's clearly prophesying that the Messiah would be named Jesus.
What's more, in the Gospel of John, we read that after Pilate had scourged Jesus, and had put a purple robe, AND A CROWN OF THORNS on the LORD, Pilate had Jesus brought out and said, "Behold the man!"
Praise the LORD OF LORD AND THE KING OF KINGS 👑 ✝️🙏😘

One of the most telling verses of Scripture was when Pilate said to Jesus in John 19: when Pilate asks Jesus "Do you not know that I have the authority to release You and I have the authority to crucify You?" Verse 11 Jesus answered, You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given to you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin. As Pastor Hamrick stated Yes it was Jesus love for us that kept Him on the cross yet even the intentions of wicked men could not circumvent the sovereignty of God as is also true in Acts chapter 2 verses 23-24 & Acts 4:27&28.

One of the great Books of prophecy. If you understand Zechariah you will understand the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ with His saints and the Millennial Temple with the literal sacrifices and the punishment's of those who do not keep the Feast of Booths/Tabernacles.

Just the title of this posting grabbed my attention. I have questions about it.
1) Why cannot the preacher recognize that this prophetic passage is directed to is and all about Israel? One studied group, Bereans, has discerned that prophesy is nearly ALL about God's chosen people, Israel and most other Scripture is about mystery there being a non-revelation - we know nothing that God does not choose to reveal to us - of anything of the Church. Notice that St. Paul who is THE apostle to the Gentiles was the first to learn of what we now call the Church which Paul called the Body of Christ all the requirements of which are found in his epistles and nowhere else.
2) Paul, speaking about the church, never describes its occupants as subjects of a king, actually calls them the Body of Christ who is NEVER called the king but the "head" of the church. He is Lord but not shepherd nor king except to Israel.
3) The Messiah-king to which he refers is OF ISRAEL the one that they've rejected making space for Gentile via St. Paul. We can now be welcomed into the Body of Christ merely upon professed belief in the Gospel, (My Gospel, Gospel of God, Gospel of Grace) defined in I Corinthians 15:1-4. Different from the Gospel presented to the Jews by Jesus and Peter and Phillip and Stephen. God's doing. See Acts 15:1-11.
Listening a little about the upcoming rapture and the opportunity for the World to participate in it mitigates the faultiness of this presentation.

Jesus, the Jewish Messiah came the first time (2,000 years ago) as the ‘Suffering Servant’ (Isaiah 53) who died as a one time final sacrifice to make atonement for the sins of the world and He will return at the End of the Age as the Conquering King!
Jesus Christ is the suffering servant and the glorious warrior King. I hope you come to this realization one day before it's too late for you. I'd love to call you my brother today but you must come to the Lord Jesus first. The veil is still upon your eyes and if you recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah the veil will be lifted from your eyes once and for all.
