  • A fun little progress report on some awesome little Doodles that are here for training. Today we are working with a Goldendoodle, a Labradoodle, and a Mini Bernedoodle!
The goldendoodle is referred to as a designer dog. The Encyclopedia Britannica traces the term "designer dog" to the late 20th century when breeders began to cross purebred Poodles with other purebred breeds in hopes of obtaining a dog with the poodle's non-shedding coat, (but there is no guarantee they will inherit the coat of the poodle), along with various desirable characteristics from other breeds. In regards to goldendoodles, golden retrievers are considered a great family dog, which is why they have been used to cross breed with poodles.
    I hope you guys enjoy!

That mini bernedoodle is loving it! Made me smile. We are getting a regular sized bernedoodle within the next couple weeks. So excited I hear they are amazing dogs!

Sophie is a rockstar. The lab doesn't like that.
    Great video.

The doodles are so different from the labs. Towards the end behind you it was just goofyness as everyone tried to get on the table, laughed out loud...The puppyness is just too too cute. Thanks for great vids and dog training sanity.

That was very interesting. Even to see the different personalities in the different doodle breeds. Thank you!

I had a terrier/poodle for 15 years. I always referred to him as a toodler. Yes, the coats attract dirt, burrs, and anything else but what a great dog he was!

You are so cool. I’m so glad I found you. I love how you talk to the dogs. I love how you show the different levels of the training with the different dogs. I’m the one that asked about what to do about my training facility that requires a 10ft rule. Dogs must maintain a 10ft separation rule. It must be liability reason, but it’s all work and no play. And I love your treat bag.!!!! Bags!

Hey stonnie. Most people don't have a training area in there yard. I use public parks to do my work with the dogs. Maybe leave the compound to show people examples of how a woodland or play structure before the kids are out can be used to do the same thing. Mad respect for your methods my friend. No shortcuts to success. just work for rewards. Especially for the owners.

Hi, new subscriber to your very informative channel. We just got our bernedoodle, she just turned 10 weeks yesterday. We love her. Training is coming along with her, can be very challenging. I found your channel prior to bringing her home, and I think your training videos are the best, you’re great at what you do. I was pleasantly surprised at this video with the doodles. 😊🐶

Your videos give me hope and down to earth direction. My 12 week old mini bernedoodle is sweet, furry and can be quite intense. She NEEDS training!I’m going to start using rations as this makes sense

Hey Stonnie, I love the training videos. I’m asking this question on your most recent video in hopes you’ll see it. I have a 7 year old Labrador who I used to take rabbit hunting. Somewhere around age 4 he became gun shy, and I haven’t taken him out since. I know breaking a dog of gun shyness is expert level territory, so I haven’t given it much thought. He is a family dog who I have always had limited expectations with, but I really would enjoy running him on some simple hunts again. How do you go about breaking a dog of gun shyness?

Hey Stonnie! I have an American Akita 7 months old and I’m having a hard time phasing our treats. Any tips? He will do anything for food but if he knows I don’t have any then he’s not very motivated

Ginny -- you probably have your answer by now, but it's a Bernese Mountain dog/poodle cross. Since she's not full grown yet, can't tell if the poodle was a toy or a miniature. I would guess a miniature poodle. Mom would be the mountain dog probably.

Does the health traits improve on the Bernedoodle compared to the full blood Bernese Mountain Dog?

  • @steelcitypoodle508

Never met a doodle that wasn't really nice dog, but so sad purebred poodles are becoming as rare as rocking horse poop.

all dogs want to be labs, all labs want to be black labs... why mess with perfection?
