@@RafaelMarcF22 What..? First off I agree that there's a chance that it might be cancelled because Activision is a horrible at long term businesses, they only think short term. But saying that classic wouldn't be profitable is just silly, do you know how many fans prefer the "old ways" to the hamster wheel we got today? Original WoW fans are far more loyal than the targeted audience today, all they have to do is take a step back(to classic that is) and relight the interest in the game. I like many others have been begging for Blizzard to return to their old ways. I'm not saying I want classic to stay classic for ever, but I think it's better to take a step back and work from there, it's obvious that a lot of changes and implementations added to the game are unwanted but Activision refuse to change these and admit they were wrong.
The point being, do you know how many millions of players are just waiting to resubscribe? But that ain't going to happen until we get some real change and some real god damn innovation in our games.

Even if they only get 500k new subscribers for a year, that's 90 million in sub revenue alone, it almost can't not be profitable.(that doesn't even count the money they made on virtual ticket sales from people who just wanted to play the demo during blizcon.)

Problem with investors is the investors activision blizzard not happy getting a stream of income from players want more money (does not NEED the money but greed is always a problem for us humans) and you get investors. These take priority over the paying players and the revenue stream and then it all goes south as players see the greed and see the problems cash shops in a pay to play games. And the problem snowballs players start to feel neglected over investors the games start to fail as players quit. Then those investors who have no loyalty start to jump ship a greedy company with no loyalty to its player base falls worst part is anyone with a semi functioning brain can see whats going to happen but so called company executives with business degrees do not. Gamers wont be exploited we might not have gone to a fancy college or university but that does not mean we are suckers.
I want to play classic again i want my hunter back i want a mana bar i want to duel wield (stat sticks tbh we used them maybe 5% of the time but HAVING them is important!) i want all the so called "fluff" ability's back i want to be able to fear a druid i want to be able to use multiple stats to improve my performance (agility and stamina are only part of the equation) i want to be able to see more stats i want to be able to train my pet (not just have this thing that needs nothing from me) all these things you took away blizzard and why? because it sure as hell has not improved game play for me my class is a hollow shell of its former self legion was a step in the right direction but soon as it was over what did you do oh yeah strip it back AGAIN! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING MORONS! And what have you given the class i so love in return? ...NOTHING!

on the other hand if they dont fuqq it up i will have the best time of my life again and play and play full nolife mode i bet they will include this fucking loot sharing but if enough people will complain early on and there will be more drama then witout this feature im sure blizzard might patch it out when it doesnt matter anymore and the dmg is already done because people already abused their loot sharing feature and got ironfoe xD and thats the most important thing the time when it gets removed will either ensure the survival of the game or the downfall
and if they rlly choose to stick to this fucking legion based combat system i will definitly play a cc' class like mage or rogue because not being able to get cced anymore if u act first is sooo broken and in classic it was common that 2 people get stunned at the same time i will miss that and i hope many people will flame so we might actual get a true 1.12 server and not this retail shit running on a 1.12 patch

Hey tips, not only that but they laid off hundreds of people it looks like and with the current financial situations it doesn’t seem like they’ll hire a bunch of QA guys to deal with reports or gear trading, so self management solutions like player gear trading and right click reporting might be more of a reality.

If a cash shop releases in Classic WoW, I can guarantee two things:
    1. all the private servers that closed down or lost members because of the Blizz announcement will see a revival
    2. ClassicWoW will make barely any money
But I think everyone at Blizz knows this, so I doubt it will happen.
If it does, it will be the final nail in the coffin and proof beyond reasonable doubt that Blizzard is actually dead.

I have a hunch that there will be no cash shop or any kind of promotional material attached classic and that’s the unpopular opinion because there’s so much skepticism in the community. I feel like there’s nothing to really monetize besides the sub fee and character transfers, factions changes etc etc. I don’t recall there being any cash mounts during vanilla wow.

Your opinion is an unpopular one, because the stocks and shareholder reports for Activision Blizzard show they are in a very bad spot right now and are only sinking further.. and now they announce another several hundred jobs are being terminated?
BLizzcon already showed us they didn't give a flying crap about what their 'old' community wanted when they decided to screw over both diablo fans with a mobile announcement and announce loot trading and some form of sharding for classic. They are absolutely willing to change the game, and they decided to shock people at a huge convention meant to hype people up? Yea, the worst has yet to be revealed to us.

I still don't get it. I'm having fun with WoW. Azerite pieces are great. The story is pretty good. The themes and setting are amazing. The raids are really fun. M+ is great. World quests are meh, but they're just as good/bad as in Legion except maybe no long term progression WQ like the withered WQ. I make plenty of gold doing fun stuff. I don't spend more than half an hour doing emissaries. I do the WQ that I enjoy and ONLY those. Islands are fun and varied. Farming AP is satisfying right now though I expect it to be meh again once I have all the mythic level traits unlocked again. I'm not burnt out even though I play probably 15-30 hours per week depending on my mood.
I honestly don't understand why people don't like BfA and are unsubbing. Maybe it's because I'm a healer, so my priorities in progression are radically different from a dps? IDK
Also, my goal in classic is purely to be the #1 alchemist on my server. I plan to made oodles of gold (adjusting for inflation ofc) without having to physically gather the mats once I have a nice, plush pile of capital to work with. All as a holy priest. I want to test the claim that you had to grind for hours to gather mats for raids instead of generating a steady income and buying them from the ah with your profits.

I could live with paid server transfers for the right reasons. If Blizz does cap the server limits to Vanilla levels (please) then we are likely to see servers lose population as the hype dies down. I would rather people had the option to pay and choose their preferred server destination.
Cash shops for mounts etc I guess I "could" live with, though Ally riding Kodo's just ruins the Vanilla experience for me.
Include any form of "Pay to win" and my subscription terminates there and then.

You make it sound like tens of millions of people aren't already dumping half their paychecks on microtransactions anyway.. look at the top earners for these companies. EA+Activision made 200 billion from 2012-2018 on microtransactions alone.
People are absolutely WILLING to buy crap through in game cash shops and these companies know it. Bottom line is that they already announced at Blizzcon that classic will not be 100% the same, and that already turned off a lot of veteran (older) players... so why aim their marketing strat at the older people now?

The problem is the damn investors asking for to much money. It’s them who cause things like games to suffer. The greedy investors screw it all up. It’s their fault so many games get desperate and do cash grabs, fire people, cut cost making the product suffer, etc. Screw investors. They need to be less greedy and ask for fair amounts of money. Make it so the company can keep the product going.

Money and power corrupts. These companies got big enough to the point where it is all about more and more success. New people will rise eventually and take the place of these scumbags, and in time they will also make the same mistakes based on nothing but extreme greed.

What bothers me about videos like this on blizzard stock is the same exact thing happened to 1000s of other stocks at the same time. You can't say what's happening lately is directly causing the stock to drop since legit every other stock did the same thing in November and December because the stock market in general pulled back. Look at apple, it went from 233 down to 142 because of the pull back. Agreed blizz has sucked lately, and it's had some bad news and I personally wouldn't invest long term in them yet, but I still don't think their drop was purely because of company decisions, I think it more so had to do with the stock market pullback we saw. Just my thoughts as someone who watches the stock market daily.
